My whole body was shaking at what I had seen. I still couldn't believe it. Autumn was the silver wolf?
The silver wolf was said to be a myth. I mean, some of our elders did confirm that there used to be silver wolves. The moon goddess always sends down one every two thousand years. It was a rare one with powerful blood.
Xavier's wolf was a special wolf, but it still wouldn't stand beside the Silver wolf. Aside from having strength, they were always separated from the rest of the wolves by a special skill.
Though, I wonder what Autumn's special skill would be.
Actually, I followed Autumn, Mercury, and Dylan out of the pack house. They were also tailing Elixir.
Well, we all knew that Elixir was working against us. But it was the first time she would be hurrying to somewhere.
When Lucas showed up, realisation hit me harder. I remember Autumn asking me if there was anyone by the name of Lucas among the Alpha's sons. I had forgotten about Lucas.
How could I have done that? If I had remembered in time. It wouldn't have gotten worse like this.
And when Lucas attacked Autumn. I knew they were doomed, but I didn't want Mercury to die. I couldn't bring myself to watch that.
So, I made a move to attack. But the moment Autumn started to change, I had to stay back. I couldn't do anything. Besides the fact that I was too shocked to do so, I didn't have to fight since the silver wolf was powerful enough to take the men down.
Shock kept me motionless and speechless for a very long time.
I'm still shocked, though, but I must report to the Alpha what I had just seen.

I was forced to a sudden stop when I saw the smoke coming out of the Alpha's room.
My heart made a thud in my chest, then it quickened as I raced towards the door.
Then, I remember what my parents told me about Xavier's mate.
Autumn was Xavier's real mate. And she was supposed to kill Xavier. Now that she has shifted, it was the perfect time.
I mindlinked Brown instantly.
“Come with as many guards as you can lay your hands on. And come very fast!” I muttered before I pushed the door open.
My gaze searched around quickly. My eyes widened when I saw Autumn standing with Xavier.
They seemed to be standing so close, too close for comfort. But they weren't doing anything else, just staring at each other as if

My gaze moved away from them for a moment, and I saw three of the elders of the Moonlike Pack standing by a side. They seemed to be injured.
And that was when it clicked.
I jumped up quickly, shifting in the process. Then I landed in between them.
My interruption made them split, and I realised to my horror that Autumn's was clawing Xavier at the chest. Xavier was bleeding now.
What was she trying to do?
“Rick, stay out of it,” Xavier muttered from behind, shocking me for a moment.
I turned to look at him and growled.
He coughed and spat out some blood. I hurried closer to him and started morphing back into human.
“What are you doing to him!” I yelled as I tore Xavier's shirt and managed to fill the gap of Autumn's claws.
Then, I realised.
Xavier's heart wasn't where it was supposed to be. It has shifted.
Then, it dawned on me. Autumn was going to pull out Xavier's heart. She was going to kill him.
“Oh no!” I yelled.
The prophecy was happening.
Xavier shook his head briefly and pushed my hand away.
“You don't understand.”
I don't understand what.
I turned to look at Autumn. “I won't let you hurt him, Autumn. I won't!” I confessed.
I've never been so moved to tears in my entire life. I won't watch her kill him. I won't! Xavier doesn't deserve this! He doesn't even deserve to die. He made a mistake, but that was it! Everyone makes mistakes after all.
“Rick, leave!” Xavier muttered.
I shook my head briefly as I stood up to look at Autumn, even though I was naked. I wasn't even bothered about that.
“I won't!” I said stubbornly.
“It's an order!” Xavier yelled. He suddenly sounded so close to me. Then, I felt something hit me harder, sending me reeling backwards.
I started to shift. Thankfully, I was so fast that I made a soft landing.
I looked up again and realised that Xavier was moving towards Autumn again. He must have been the one that hit me the other time.

Autumn didn't catch him unaware. It looked like Xavier knew what he was doing. The fact that he wasn't even putting up a fight only shows how ready he was to accept death.
I hurried closer, just as Autumn stabbed him again.
This time, I wasn't able to separate them like I did the other time. The other elders rushed at me so fast. I found myself reeling backwards again.
I felt tears seep out of my eyes from where I was.
The elders jumped at me, but I couldn't even fight them. I was looking at Xavier.
Xavier has never been so pitiful. No! He was the most pitiful person I have ever met. Xavier of all people doesn't deserve to die!
Images of I and Xavier flashed across my eyes. When Xavier was very young. He was a sweet boy. He had a pure heart. I knew he was going to make a great Alpha.
If only his father hadn't corrupted him. He was too young to have passed through those hardships. His father killed him. He made him who he was now. It wasn't any of his fault. It has never been his fault.
The only fault of his was having a father like him.
“If Xavier must die!” I yelled suddenly. “Then I should be the first person to die!”
Autumn looked at me suddenly.
“I'm not better than Xavier! And I didn't correct him when he was making a mistake!”
“Don't listen to him, Autumn,” Xavier muttered. “You promised not to touch any of my people.”
I looked at Xavier and slowly shook my head.
“You think I will live when you are dead? You think I will leave you to handle it all yourself? Then you lie! You will have to kill me first! I will never watch you kill Xavier!” I yelled and finally pulled away from the elders with every ounce of my strength that I could gather.
