Autumn
I opened my eyes suddenly. Where am I?
The first thing I saw was the large picture of Gwen on the wall.
I'm in my room. But how did I get here?
All of a sudden, everything became clear. I recall riding towards Magic Town because I was angry at Xavier and looking for a perfect place to vent my frustration.
It actually amazed me that I used to crave his touch, but now I despise it. I do not want to do anything intimate with him.
But how did Xavier find me? Okay, that is one.
How in the world am I on heat?
The door opened suddenly and Mercury walked inside. She hesitated briefly, with worries all over her face.
“Are you alright?”
I nodded once. “I think.”
“The maids are here,” she announced but she barely finished talking when the door opened again and five maids walked inside.
I stared, confused. “What's going on?”
“It's the Alpha's order,” Mercury responded.
I was led to the bathroom and washed thoroughly.
My mind was still in daze to figure out what was happening.
Finally, I was done, cleaned and changed. The maids bowed and walked out when they were done.
I looked over at Mercury for an explanation. She understood me and moved closer.
“You are on heat, ma’am. The Alpha will soon be here.”
The words registered instantly.
No way!
“Everyone have been dismissed. I might not be able to see you until tomorrow. “
No fucking way!
Mercury bowed and stepped out when I didn't say anything. I was infact too stunned to say a word.
Eventhough I have never been mated. I know what being on heat was. But it wasn't supposed to happen now. No, not when I plan on having no contact with the Alpha.
How could I be on heat?
I knew I had to do something about it. Perhaps, I could find a place to stay till the whole bullshit was over.
I moved to the door and opened it slightly. I was taken aback when I saw several guards keeping watch.
Just what does the Alpha think he's doing? I must do something else. There's no way I will let the Alpha touch me!
My gaze searched around me quickly. What should I do?
I moved to the closet. It was actually movable. That makes it good.
With my power, I made sure the door was reinforced with a tangled mess of bedpost, chairs, a table and wardrobe.
I watched the result for a moment, impressed with myself. Now, it won't matter. I don't care. I will stay in this very room till I'm out of heat. I don't even care if I starve.
The door moved suddenly, alerting me. But when nothing else happened, I released a sigh of relief.
My efforts haven't been in vain.
“Autumn!” Xavier called suddenly.
Autumn? He must have driven the guards away to call me that.
Yet again, I was satisfied by my plan.
“Autumn, will you fucking open this door?”
I ignored him. He will leave if I dont respond.
“Fuck!” He cussed as he tried to open the door again, yet, it didn't budge.
He moved the door several times, then stopped.
Good! Maybe he's going to leave.
I moved closer to the door. Perhaps I would hear him walk away.
I suddenly scented that same mint around me. My body vibrated suddenly in response. it was as if it was what I have been waiting for. I was drawn, and yet, irritated at the same time.
I whirled around to see Xavier by the window.
My heartbeat stopped for a moment. I hadn't thought about the window. But then, I'm not bothered because looking at Xavier’s size, there's no way he would be able to enter through the window.
“Open the door, Autumn and don't let me find another way in,” he said between clenched teeth. He looked frustrated.
Though, I'm unsure why he is. I am the one on heat, not him!
I clenched my teeth as hot anger surged through me. “I'm not opening the door!” I said defiantly.
He scoffed. “You need me, Autumn. The earlier you accept, the better for you. And you better open the door before I find another way in.”
He is only making empty threats!
I huffed. “There's no way you are getting pass the door. The earlier you know I don't want to see you, the better for you!”
His scent reached me again and I got drawn. A strong feeling engulfed me. I felt the instant need to response but no!
I took a step backward unconsciously. “You are not getting inside here because I don't want you.”
He regarded me for a moment and slowly back off.
My body burned with an inner fire and my skin tingled with electric anticipation. Anticipation of what? No!
It will never happen!
My skin tightened and I couldn't stop myself from trembling. I could feel my eyes pupil dilating, as my heartrate increased as well.
I slid down to the floor and wrapped my arms around myself.
I awoke suddenly, to a strange scent. I didn't know how long I had passed out again. And I don't know why I'm passing out.
Though, the scent doesn't belong to the Alpha, I was still agitated and alerted.
I looked up and my eyes widened when I saw two maids by the door, pulling back the closet.
Hot anger surged through me instantly.
With my power, I pulled them back instantly, not even bothering to see where they would land. I secured the door again.
The truth is, I hadn't expected the Alpha to do such a thing. How could he tell his maids to sneak inside to pull away the things I used to secure the door?
“Pull back! Enough of this bullshit!” King Xavier muttered suddenly, jerking me out of my thoughts.
And before I could think of what he was about to do, the door shuddered, then suddenly burst open. The sounds of splintering wood filled the air around me as woods went flying around. Then, he walked inside, his commanding presence electrifying the room.
I was too shocked to talk.
