I stopped suddenly when I felt strength leave me. If Autumn hadn't shifted the other time, the wolves would have overpowered me.
There were so many of them.
Dylan morphed back to human and rushed to my side. “Are you alright?”
I tried to catch my breath and felt pains all over, but then, I could feel my body healing up. Though, I must say it was taking a while.
I shook my head briefly. “I'm out of breath. I think you should go. You need to follow the Alpha.”
Dylan regarded me for a moment, then pulled back and started to shift again.
I watched him for a moment as his brown wolf came into view. He was beautiful and also big, but not compared to Autumn.
Who would have thought I would see such a day? A day Autumn would shift?
I can't quite comprehend the happiness I felt inside me. Excitement ripped through me.
We will finally be unstoppable. No one will ever look down on us now that we have the silver wolf.
The silver wolf was a very powerful wolf whose myth has been passed down from generation to generation. In fact, at a point, we thought it was a made-up story because no one has ever seen one.
It was rumoured that the Moon goddess always sent one down to earth every thousand years. But it's already two thousand years since it was rumoured to have showed up. So, everyone already lost hope of seeing one again.
Dylan moved closer and extended his arms.
“Dylan! I said you should follow her. We might lose her, and she is so fast!”
Dylan growled but picked me up nonetheless. He's so stubborn, just like Autumn.
Then, he started racing as fast as he could while inhaling the air around him.
I lay comfortably in his bed as he rode through the forest. I silently hoped we hadn't missed Autumn because she was running at full speed.
She was so fast and so strong, taking down so many wolves at once, and none of them were even able to touch her.
Indeed, this wolf would be able to stand against Xavier's wolf.
Dylan stopped suddenly and inhaled the air again. Then, he picked up again.
We ran another meter before we saw a white thing from afar. It was definitely autumn.
It took us another mile before we reached her. She stood a few feet away from Lucas. Elixir was nowhere to be found.
Dylan gently placed me on the floor, and I started to look for Elixir. My heart skipped a beat when I saw her against the tree. I hurried over and checked her breathing.
She was breathing all right, but it was faintly. And she was currently unconscious.
I turned to look at Autumn again.
She hesitated and regarded Lucas Wolf for a moment before she howled so loud. She took him by the neck effortlessly while Lucas struggled out of her grip.
Eventually, Lucas started to morph back to human.
Autumn dropped him eventually and started to morph back to human as well.
I pulled down Elixir's jacket and hurried towards Autumn. I covered her up the moment she was human again.
Even though I was in fact naked, that wasn't the important thing now. Protecting the Alpha was.
As I stepped back, Dylan moved closer to me with a blouse. A smile escaped my lips as I took it from him and put it on.
Dylan was on a short as well.
“How does it feel to be on the receiving end now?” Autumn asked, in a tone I wasn't so familiar with.
Now, she looked different. She looked scary.
Lucas whimpered as he looked up at her. “How? How is that possible? You are supposed to be an omega. You have no wolf!”
Autumn cracked and crouched in front of him. “That's one thing you missed. One thing that Elixir wasn't able to tell you. Now, I will let you know since you answered all my questions. It's only fair that I do the same to you.”
Lucas adjusted back slightly, but Autumn moved closer to him.
“Well, like any other people, I was born with a wolf. She was just hidden, and I needed a key. Xavier was my key. Your stupidity and wickedness unlocked my wolf. While you thought you were doing me bad by having Xavier punish me for kidnapping Gwen, I was slowly unlocking my wolf,” she explained.
Lucas's eyes widened with shock, but he didn't say anything.
I was watching the both of them. Initially, when those wolves came out of hiding, I looked at Autumn. I was scared, but what I didn't expect was the look of fear on Autumn's face.
I instantly knew what was going through her mind. If her wolf hadn't emerged, Autumn wouldn't have been able to forgive herself for putting the New Moon pack in trouble. She was the only one they were looking up to. If Autumn dies, everyone will die with her, including me.
I don't want to be in this world if she will not be in it as well.
“You see, ” Autumn continued. “Are you shocked?”
Lucas looked away for a moment. When realisation dawned on him, he looked at Autumn again. “That means Xavier is your mate? But then, that's not possible. Xavier doesn't have a mate. That was why he took Gwen in.”
Autumn clicked her teeth together and stood. “You can believe whatever you choose to. But then, I have just two questions for you. Augustine, does he know about this?”
Lucas gently nodded. “My father will soon know I'm missing. He will come after you all. Silver wolf or not, he will take you down. He has a lot of army. In fact, he now has more than Xavier,” he revealed.
Wait, what! Was Augustine planning to attack Ocean Howl Pack?
“Question two. What's your father's motive?”
Lucas looked away.
“I know it's not the same as yours. So, now tell me why he's siding with you.”
Lucas clenched his teeth. “I'm not saying anything,” he said stubbornly.
Suddenly, a long vine went around Lucas's neck, and it kept wrapping itself around him while he tried to get it off, but it just wasn't possible.
“Answer me, Lucas.”
Lucas's eyes widened. “How?”
More vines start wrapping themselves around his neck. Though this new one has prickles that seem to draw blood as they tightened around his neck.
My eyes widened in shock as I watched the scenes unfold in front of me.
Autumn wasn't who I used to know anymore. She was starting to turn to some demigod. How can she be a silver wolf and then a powerful witch?
How can she be two powerful people? Not all witches could use kinetic power. In fact, it was a rare power.
How could she own both?
Meanwhile, she was so weak and powerless until this day.
I was happy, though, that she was my Alpha. I didn't make the wrong decision by renouncing my pack.
