                    ~ Gwen ~
Gwen was shocked. Doctor Hanson just delivered her to the enemies!
When one of them suggested that they would use her for ransom, she revealed, "You don't understand. Theo wants to divorce me. In fact, you interrupted our rejection ceremony! He will not pay for my life! Please, let me go!"
Sadly for Gwen, the rogues continue to drag her towards the docked ship, ignoring her cries.
Gwen turned to Doctor Hanson and screamed, "Tell them, Doctor Hanson! Tell them!"
Regrettably, the doctor ran away and never looked back.
She studied her surroundings, but unfortunately, many containers blocked their location. Apart from the enemies, no one was within her line of sight!
Gwen tried to unleash her wolf, but before she could, one rogue punched her in the face, yelling, "Shut up! Unless you wanna die, shut the fuck up!"
The punch left Gwen momentarily disoriented. She fell into one of the rogue's arms, and her duffle bag landed on the ground.
"Get up!" the rogue ordered before dragging her back in the same direction.
Between container spaces, Gwen saw some port workers from a distance, sensing their presence. Since her connection to the pack was not yet broken, she mindlinked to everyone, 'Help! Can anyone help me? This is me, Gwen! I'm being kidnapped by rogues. I'm at the port! Anyone!'
Gwen was convinced she had reached those near the port, but to her disappointment, no one came to her rescue. Worse, familiar voices had linked back to her, approving the rogue's actions.
'Help you? We did not get any help when your father killed my brother!'
'Now you know exactly how we felt when your pack attacked us!'
'Well, they sure know how to choose,' Caroline communicated through the mind. 'Fight! Oh, wait, you don't know how to fight! Haha!'
Yes, it was true. Gwen did not know how to fight. She had tried to learn as a child, but Lucius forbade her from doing so. That was how she became weak as a warrior.
'Oh, they kidnapped you, dear luna?' Madison mindlinked with Gwen too. 'At least we don't have to worry about getting rid of you.'
Gwen was shocked by Madision's message. Although she was already used to the hate, she never expected that kind of reaction from her!
Despite the adverse responses she received, Gwen found the courage to call for Theo's Help. 'Theo, please help me. I'm being taken by rogues.'
'Gwen, where are you?' She was already being carried into the ship's gangway when she finally heard Theo's voice.
Gwen immediately became alerted. Her head snapped in every direction as she tried to pull herself away from the rogue that held her. 'Theo, I'm at the west side of the port where all the containers are!'
"Let me go! Please, let me go!" Gwen begged again, but suddenly, another rogue with a cloak over his frame stood before her.
Gwen looked up and saw an unknown werewolf point a unique blade before her. He declared, "Stop blabbering! You will come with us or die!"
The cloaked man yanked Gwen from his colleague's grasp and dragged her up the gangway and onto the ship's deck. Occasionally, he would point the blade at her to ensure her compliance.
"Stop!"
Finally, the help Gwen was waiting for arrived. She glanced at the port and saw Theo in his black werewolf. Behind him were a few of his warriors, all of them seething.
"Let her go if you want to live!" Theo barked.
"Well, well, if it isn't Alpha Theo," the werewolf who was with Gwen said. "Came to save your luna? Too bad we are leaving."
While the ship's crew prepared to raise the gangway, over ten rogues purposely got offboard to fight Theo and his warriors. The rest remained on board the vessel.
Gwen watched as Theo and his men overpowered the rogues below. Each time a rogue attacked, they were defeated, either killed or thrown into the water.
Howls and barks echoed in the dock. The rogues left at the port panicked at how their numbers had quickly reduced!
"What are we going to do? They are going to kill us all!" One rogue turned to the cloaked man and screamed.
The werewolf behind Gwen declared, "Keep fighting to the death!"
The fight below continued, but as Theo's men increased in number, it was evident that he and his men would win.
With Theo's ruthless warriors taking over, his attention was on Gwen. The access to the ship had already begun to rise, but Theo managed to leap and climb on the steps!
Seeing this, the cloaked man moved Gwen into the vessel's bow. He ordered the remaining rogues on board, "Take him down!"
The cloaked man suddenly walked to the railings and pointed the weapon at Gwen. He hissed and revealed, "Well, the plan was to declare war, anyway. We were never really going to keep you alive."
Hearing his words, Gwen's heart raced. She appealed, "No, please. I'm pregnant. Don't hurt me."
To her dismay, the unknown wolf shouted at the top of his lungs, "We, The Shadowcloaks, declare war against Alpha Theo and Port Leon! The death of your luna will be the start! You may have killed many of our men today, but we will be back with more warriors in the days to come!"
Theo had already shifted into his human form, using his limbs to swiftly climb the ship. He was already at the dock when the rogue suddenly stabbed Gwen in the chest!
At the sudden pain, Gwen gasped.
Time abruptly stopped.
Gwen held her breath completely, and a tear fell down her cheek. She looked down at her chest and saw that the pain was real.
'No! No!' Her lips were trembling as she gave off a silent cry.
Gwen looked up and made eye contact with Theo. He was screaming angry words that her mind couldn't grasp.
Her vision became hazy, and suddenly, her life flashed before her.
Recalling how much misery she had endured, she had finally come to accept that death was a better way to leave this place. Her only regret was her baby dying with her.
'Baby, I'm sorry. I failed to protect you,' she said in her head.
The ache was slowly spreading through her body, and more tears trickled down her face. She was starting to lose consciousness but realized she had to do one more thing.
Her bond with Theo has yet to be broken, and even if he hated her, part of him would be consumed with pain once she died. That was the curse of fated mates. That was the same reason Theo needed her to accept his rejection, so he could be completely free from their bond.
She had to let Theo go.
Using the last of her strength, Gwen mindlinked, 'Theo, I'm sorry for everything my father has done. I hope my death will be the end of all the hate living in your heart. Live, Theo, and be happy.'
She took another breath and said, 'I, Gwenneth Darwin, accept -'
Before Gwen could finish her words, she was thrown into the sea. Her consciousness left her the second her body hit the water!
