Under the moonlight’s gaze, Theo and Gwen’s wedding commenced.
The clearing in the heart of Port Leon glowed with soft silver lights as if the Moon Goddess had descended to bless the occasion. Around the open venue, towering ancient trees formed a natural cathedral, their branches adorned with shimmering strings of lights and glowing crystal orbs that pulsed like stars.
The tables and seats were carefully lined within the same clearing, decorated with white roses and lilac blooms.
The guests were dressed in shades of earth and purple. They stood in respectful silence as Theo stepped forward to the front, looking extraordinarily handsome and dignified. He wore a white suit with a black tie and a purple handkerchief in his coat pocket. His eyes, fierce yet tender, scanned the crowd before resting on the curtains that concealed his bride.
A tall arch decorated with flowers stood at the very back of the venue. Curtains draped down on it. Theo had not seen Gwen since that morning, and the night had already arrived. He did not know what his wife would look like. He did not even know what kind of gown Gwen would be wearing. Everything was secretly arranged by his sister, Caroline. Because of this, Theo felt nervous and excited at the same time.
“Mommy is going to be so beautiful, Daddy,” Ian said, his little hand reaching him. His eyes glistened as he assured Theo.
Theo hissed. He leaned down and asked, “Have you seen Mommy?”
“Yes, Daddy. She looks very pretty,” Ian added.
Yet again, Theo looked at the venue. He did not miss the assuring nods from King Alexander, seated at a unique table to his left. Theo smiled in the rows of tables and chairs, recognizing Alpha George’s people. Baron was sitting somewhere at the front, along with some purple-eyed werewolves under his command. As for the rest of their visitors, they were mostly a mix of pack members from all of Theo’s territories, royal guards of Alfar, and other alphas who were invited.
Soon, instrumental music played in the background. Female pups dressed like ballerinas walked the aisle and scattered rose and lilac petals on the ground. Instead of a carpet, they had a mirror-like aisle for Gwen to walk on, which glistened against the night.
Smoke sizzled by the white curtains, creating a sense of mystery as Gwen entered. With her head down, the lights dimmed, and everyone, especially Theo, was eager to see the bride.
Gwen wore a mermaid-cut wedding dress embroidered with gems. Her golden hair was neatly gathered into a loose bun. Strands of her hair were gently swept and tucked, giving it a slightly undone yet polished look.
When Gwen looked up, she met Theo’s gaze, and instantly, her purple eyes made his heart skip a beat.
She was so beautiful.
Everything at that point played in slow motion for Theo.
Gwen looked like an angel, sparkling against the dark and walking slowly towards him. Gwen smiled, and Theo smiled back. He could not help but mindlinked, ‘You are so beautiful, and I love you.’
‘I love you too,’ Gwen responded.
His chest felt heavy, not with sadness, but with an overwhelming sense of joy that seemed almost too much to contain. It was a feeling so profound that it filled him completely, leaving him breathless.
In the past, he did not treasure Gwen, but when he lost her, his world crumbled inside. He denied the pain for years, but the second he met Ian, things changed for him.
Acceptance came easy. Theo openly acknowledged his mistakes and took full responsibility for them. He confessed his deep love for his mate and continued to nurture and cherish that bond daily.
Tears welled in his eyes as he recounted. He finally had Gwen back, for good. Theo was never letting her go.
Halfway through her bridal walk, Gwen was joined by her parents, who accompanied her down the remainder of the aisle. Alpha George and Luna Juliet were visibly emotional as they entrusted Gwen to her new life in marriage. Upon reaching Theo, her parents warmly embraced him, offering their blessing.
“I know I said this many times before, but take care of my daughter and grandchildren,” George repeated, and Theo nodded.
The ceremony began, and just as King Arthur had promised, he officiated Theo and Gwen’s wedding.
King Arthur raised his arms, his eyes looking up at the bright moon above. He smiled before addressing the people, “Under the light of the eternal moon and in the presence of the pack, we gather to witness a union blessed by the Moon Goddess herself. Tonight, we honor the sacred bond between two souls destined to lead, protect, and love each other and all who follow them.”
The king spoke at length about the blessing of finding one’s fated mate, and throughout his words, Theo could feel the depth of Arthur’s sentiments. Theo understood the reason behind Arthur’s conviction. After all, the king’s marriage failed because Hazel was not his destined mate.
“So Theo, Gwen, promise me, as your king, honor this marriage and protect it,” King Arthur said before resuming the ceremony.
King Arthur: “Theo, you are a shield and sword, a guide through the shadows and the unyielding strength of this pack. Gwen, you are the heart and light, the healer of wounds, and the voice of compassion. Together, you embody the balance that all wolves strive for—strength tempered by kindness, power guided by wisdom.”
King Arthur: “Before you and before us all, the Moon Goddess shines her light upon this union. Her blessing will weave your fates together, binding your hearts, souls, and purpose as your pack’s leaders. In her name, I ask you to speak your vows.”
King Arthur: “Alpha Theo, do you vow to protect and honor your luna, to lead with strength and wisdom, and to uphold the trust of your pack with unwavering loyalty?”
Theo: “I do.”
King Arthur: “Luna Gwen, do you vow to stand by your alpha, to guide with compassion and grace, and to nurture the spirit of the pack with your light?”
Gwen: “I do.”
Yet again, King Arthur said a few words. He gave his own prayers while looking up at the moon. In his final words, he said, “The bond is forged. Your hearts are one, your power shared, and your leadership blessed by the Moon Goddess.”
“Witness now the union of Alpha Theo and Luna Gwen. Their love is their strength, and their strength is their future. Under the sacred light of the moon, I proclaim them mated for eternity and leaders of this pack!”
“Congratulations!”
Fireworks burst into the night, painting the sky with vibrant, colorful hues.

While Theo and Gwen celebrated their wedding back in Southern Alfar, a woman wearing a black cloak and a hood over her head grabbed a handful of the soil from the ground.
Around her were tombstones from the massacre that happened more than thirty years ago. Beneath her was the grave of the woman she had cared for, almost like a daughter.
The woman’s eyes were burning with rage as she said, “Hazel, my dearest.”
Through gritted teeth, she added, “Our plans are ruined! My plans are ruined!”
“They will pay!” she shouted. Her voice was so powerful it seemed to have called the storm. Thunder cracked, and dark clouds rolled in above her. With fierce determination, she said, “I’ll let them have their moment of peace, but I promise, I will avenge you!”
Her eyes formed slits as she named the person responsible, “Gweneth. You’ll have to take Hazel’s place.”
