~ Theo ~
‘I’m in love with Madison. I’m in love with Madison,’ Theo repeatedly reminded himself before he gulped down an entire glass of werewolf liquor.
“You sure drank a lot tonight, Alpha. It’s not like you,” Theo’s beta, Brody said. He had been standing behind them all along.
“Haha!” Madison laughed at Brody, saying, “We are celebrating! The more drinks, the better!”
A mix of fifteen female and male werewolves was in the hotel’s bar, drinking with them. One of them was Theo’s older sister, Caroline Erhart.
Madison had insisted on a small celebration for her return, and Theo found it hard to refuse her. Madison was the one who was hurt the most when he married Gwen. She left for another pack just to heal her broken heart, so this was a small price for all the pain he had caused her.
“Let my brother drink, Brody!” Caroline scolded Theo’s beta. “He deserves to get drunk and loosen up a little after putting up with Gwen for a year.”
“Okay, well. This is my last drink, Alpha,” Brody announced as he drank again. The beta walked around the table and rested his glass, announcing, “I’m going to check on the borders.”
“Bye, Brody!” Madison waved at him while Theo only nodded. Along with his beta, four other warriors left, about to rest or patrol around the pack.
“Do you Need another drink, Theo?” Madison asked. In each minute, she leaned closer and closer to him, clearly seducing him.
Yes, he noticed it. He felt Madison’s touches, the way she would brush her breasts against his arm, and how she would rest her hand on his thigh.
Madison wanted to be fucked.
Theo should want it too, but in the last two hours that Madison had been throwing herself at him, he wasn’t getting that sexual tension he used to have when he and Madison were together as a couple.
‘Maybe because I’m still married,’ he thought. Thinking of this, he knew he had to divorce Gwen as soon as possible. He couldn’t possibly be feeling guilty towards Lucius’ daughter!
No, he shouldn’t. Theo hated Gwen. Although she claimed to be innocent of her father’s actions, he specifically remembered how she never did anything.
During Lucius Darwin’s rule, his people were dying and constantly being tortured. Theo did not see Gwen go against her father or help Port Leon’s people. Gwen was like a princess, with skin as white as a pearl, no scars on her body, perfectly protected in the packhouse, and dressed in luxury clothes. If anything, Gwen benefitted from Port Leon’s wealth.
He and Gwen had tried many times to get pregnant, but it was sometime last week that he learned it wasn’t going to happen. Plus, with the timely death of the elder, Agatha Sanger, Theo recognized it was finally the right moment to free himself from the marriage he never wanted.
The clock kept ticking. Theo did not realize they had spent another hour drinking werewolf liquor, and it was slowly getting into his system.
Theo was suddenly feeling hot, like his body was burning. Beneath his pants, his sex was swelling.
A hiss left his lips when he turned to Madison. His vision was getting a little cloudy, but he could still see how Madison was smirking at him, her hand caressing his boner.
“Let’s take care of that, shall we?” Madison implied.
Theo could not understand the burning fire from within him, but he badly needed release. Fuck his marriage, he did not want it anyway. Theo did not love Gwen. He loved Madison.
He left with Madison and went to her hotel room. Madison kissed him and slowly lay on the bed. However, as Madison waited for him to take her, Theo saw images of himself being intimate with Gwen.
“What the fuck is wrong with me?” Theo wondered silently. His eyes narrowed as his vision grew increasingly hazy.
His shaft grew bigger at the thought of him having sex with Gwen. For a year, the only woman he had touched was his wife. The inner wolf in him seemed to be looking only for Gwen despite Madison being there.
“Gwen!” A growl left his lips when his body suddenly shifted into his black wolf.
“Theo? What’s going on?” He could hear Madison calling out to him, but he was losing control of his human body.
With his wolf taking over, he dashed out of the hotel, running across the town and making it to the packhouse in just half an hour.
Theo shifted back into his human form and found Gwen’s room. His body was still burning in desire, and he wanted release! Theo entered his wife’s room and saw Gwen. He took her repeatedly, finding comfort and satisfaction in claiming his luna.
He still couldn’t comprehend what was happening to him. All he sensed was an overpowering desire eclipsing his reason. Worse, he wanted to satisfy his needs with the woman he loathed.
Hours later.
The sun’s rays hit Theo’s face. He squinted and opened his eyes, only to find Gwen lying on his chest.
His body tensed, recalling the events of last night. Had he overdrunk to the point of losing control?
Theo got up quickly, cursing while he was at it. “Fuck. Fuck!”
“Theo, are you okay? What’s wrong, Theo?” Gwen asked.
“What’s wrong?” Theo snapped at her. “Have you lost it, Gwen? Last night was a mistake! It should never have happened.”
Hurt shone in Gwen’s eyes when he said those words, and not a second longer, tears flooded her delicate face. Her lips quivered as she asked, “Wh-why? Why did you take me four times if last night meant nothing?”
“I was drunk and did not know what I was doing!” Theo answered.
“Don’t you feel it? Something happens when we make love -”
“Don’t even call it that!” Theo barked. “It was just sex! I am a werewolf, an alpha werewolf at that! I have needs, and you, my so-called wife, need to give them to me! Sex! It was just sex!”
“Theo, I love you!” Gwen confessed, shocking Theo completely. “I love you. Please don’t push me away!”
“What?” Theo questioned, wide-eyed.
Gwen’s lips trembled as she explained, “Being with you, I could not resist but fall in love with you. You are an alpha that I admire, and each time we are intimate, I -”
“I will never love you!” Theo declared. “When will you ever understand?”
Theo’s father, Edward Erhart, was everything to him. Edward showered Theo with love and trained him to be the best warrior for Port Leon. So, his father’s death broke him in ways he couldn’t describe.
He couldn’t accept it.
Theo harbored an intense hatred towards Lucius Darwin, including Gwen, his daughter.
When the marriage was forced upon them, a few pack members feared he would fall in love with Gwen’s angelic face, golden hair, and unique purple-colored eyes. But he never did.
He would never fall in love with the enemy’s daughter.
That was his promise to the Goddess above.
“We are getting a divorce, and that’s final,” Theo firmly said.
“But, Theo, I’m pregnant!” Gwen announced. She searched from her bedside table and showed him the test result.
Upon reading the results, Theo’s blood boiled in anger.
‘How could she?’ he reflected. Theo tried to hold back his hand, but it appeared to have moved on its own, and he slapped her!
“Gwen, I did not know you had it in you!” Theo growled. “You slut!”
