“Congratulations!”
“Cheers to our Luna and Alpha for finally being one!”
Gwen and Theo walked into the Apex Hall of Port Leon. It was the training arena of the pack. When the warriors noticed their presence, they sniffed the hell out of them. Their faces formed grins, and her eyes landed on the mark on their necks.
“Congratulations, Alpha Theo,” Brody said, extending his hand to Theo.
Rollin also offered his hand to Gwen, saying, “Congratulations, Luna Gwen.”
Gwen shook Rollin’s hand and said, “Now, I acknowledge being your Luna.”
“Yeah!” Rollin cheered, and the rest of the warriors echoed the same.
“First, Caroline, and now, our Alpha and Luna!” Dunken remarked.
Caroline had also been waiting for them in one corner with Jacob. When Gwen found the two, she noticed they were smiling at them. Like Gwen and Theo, they also bore their mate-bond mark.
“So that’s why Jacob was howling so much last night,” Gwen teased. “Congratulations, Caroline, Jacob.”
The entire arena erupted in laughter. Jacob countered, “At least I’m not as loud as Alpha Theo.”
“I am proud!” Theo growled while putting an arm around Gwen. “After many years, my wife had finally deemed me worthy to bear her mark. So, I will fucking howl as loud as I want to - ouch!”
Gwen punched Theo’s ribcage, making him frown, but before he could react, an authoritative tone echoed in the arena. “Doctor, so you have finally made your decision.”
Everyone turned to King Arthur, who walked in with his royal guards. Arthur smiled and said, “Congratulations for marking each other, Theo and Gwen. May your bond grow as strong as the moon’s pull on the tides. You’ve taken a step that intertwines your souls forever, and we couldn’t be happier for you both. May your love endure every challenge and your connection deepen with every phase of the moon.”
Gwen smiled. She bowed before the king, saying, “Thank you, Your Highness.”
“Now, although, in the eyes of the Moon Goddess, you are still fated, you had once filed for divorce. My next question is, when will you get married again?” The king smiled and announced, “I’d like to personally be the one to marry you both.”
Gwen and Theo looked at each other. They had already covered this before leaving. Theo glanced back at the king, saying, “When this is all over, Gwen and I will marry again.”
“Well, then,” the king said. He raised his arms and declared, “Let’s start planning and take down Alpha Madlock so that you both can get married.”
Just as Arthur announced this, the doors to the area opened again. Alpha George walked in with Baron. They were both catching their breaths.
“Theo,” George said. “This time, I need your help.”
“What is it, Alpha George?” Theo asked.
George sighed heavily and revealed, “I have reason to believe my people are in danger.”
~ Queen Hazel ~
“This is the way to the Lilac Pack,” Bran, one of Hazel’s loyal guards and a secret warrior from the Ironwood Pack, pointed out to the window.
Hazel’s eyes narrowed. She clenched her jaws and answered, “We must take care of the Purple-Eye Pack once and for all. Kill all of them. Identify the werewolves with a unique healing ability and drain all their blood!”
“Yes, I understand, My Queen,” Bran responded while driving the car. “Whoever you commissioned thirty years ago clearly did not do the job well.”
“Sadly. I regretted not coming along during that attack,” Hazel muttered as her eyes narrowed in irritation, thinking bout what happened around thirty years ago.
“Doesn’t it bother you, My Queen, that you are going to kill your own kind?” Bran asked.
Hazel snapped at the warrior. Her eyes glowed purple as she stared at him through the rearview mirror. She said, “They wanted to lock me up anyway! So why care for them? Besides, they will only hinder my plans.”
“But what about Alpha George and Luna Juliet?” Bran asked.
Hazel looked behind and watched the caravan of SUVs and pickup trucks. She replied, “They will hear of their pack’s end, and when that happens, they will return. We will be waiting for them and ambush them.”
“I understand, Your Majesty,” her royal guard acknowledged.
Hazel was in Southern Alfar with the rogues she had long worked with, at least, what was left of them. She had a few loyal guards accompany her, and she had newly hired local werewolves to help her with the task at hand. All in all, they were a group of more than fifty warriors.
Many years ago, Hazel was once called Janice. Like Gwen, she was a purple-eyed werewolf, and her blood could heal others.
After fleeing to Northern Alfar, Hazel, of course, concealed her identity. Her first ally was a witch named Victoria Ashford.
Victoria gave her a new identity. The same witch disguised Hazel’s scent and created special contact lenses to mask the color of her eyes. Unlike regular lenses, the ones Victoria made for Hazel were so thin they were invisible to the naked eye.
Now, she was the queen of Northern Alfar.
From being Janice, a convict from the Purple-Eyed Pack, she was now Hazel Hazma.
“Where are my contact lenses?” She muttered before turning to her purse and taking out her cornea lens.
She lubricated her eyes before covering them.
There was once a time when Hazel was contented with privately testing the strength of her ability. Being Arthur’s wife gave her the secrecy and resources that she needed. However, she had not expected to meet her fated mate in the form of Alpha Madlock. Things changed, and with them working together, greed overshadowed.
Hazel and Alpha Madlock had devised a plan to harness her gift and transform it into a profitable venture. That was how the secret laboratory in Borealis came about.
They created poisons and spread viruses while selling medicines and healing potions. As the demand for these products grew, Hazel considered taking blood from the other purple-eyed pack.
Thus, Hazel ordered the annihilation of the Purple-Eyed Pack. The individuals she had hired drained blood from those with special abilities, which she then turned into healing potions, some of which were stored in the laboratory.
The same group took Gwen when she was just a baby. Then, Hazel gave Gwen to Lucius. Hazel had hoped that she could someday use Gwen.
For many years, Lucius had been under Hazel’s paycheck, serving not only as Gwen’s fake father but also as an agent of disruption. Lucius’ calculated chaos provided a cover for her and her lover, Madlock, to work in secrecy, advancing their plans to establish a pharmaceutical empire capable of amassing great wealth.
Hazel and Madlock had achieved a measure of success. Their company, Lunar Vitae Pharmaceuticals, has distributed drugs and potions worldwide. Eventually, though, they wanted more. They had finally decided to take Arthur’s throne, and that could only happen if he was to die. Thus, they agreed to slowly kill the king of Northern Alfar.
Sadly, they came across unexpected twists. For one, Hazel never expected Lucius to be defeated by Theo. Next, she heard that Gwen had become Theo’s wife!
At one point, Hazel had planned to abduct Gwen from Port Leon. She intended to imprison Gwen and use her to harvest as much blood as possible. However, those plans were shattered when Hazel soon learned of Gwen’s death.
Years later, the arrival of a Miracle Doctor suddenly threatened Hazel and Madlock’s business. Worse, the same doctor had offered to treat Arthur! To Hazel’s shock, the Miracle Doctor was none other than her niece, Gwen. What made matters worse was how Hazel discovered that her sister, and maybe more, remained alive to that day.
So, there she was, back in Southern Alfar, the same place Hazel had once fled from. They had checked Gwen’s background and learned she belonged to the Lilac Pack.
“It makes sense that they would call the new pack the Lilac Pack. Our hold home used to be surrounded by Lilac,” Hazel muttered. Then she laughed, saying, “But that also made it easy for me to find them.”
“We are almost there, Your Highness,” Bran revealed, pointing to an unpaved road ahead. “We turn there, and after a kilometer, we find the Lilac Pack.”
Hazel’s expression darkened. She said, “Tell the others to prepare all their weapons. We won’t spare anyone.”
“Why not keep some? Use them as a living donor for blood?” Bran asked.
“I have learned from my past mistakes. Think of Gwen, for example. She has now become a nuisance. My blood will be enough.” An evil grin formed on her face as she suggested, “We just need to spread as many poisons around the world, and in the long run, they will buy a hundred ML of my blood, even in billions.”
