                    ~ Gwen ~
“And that, Your Highnesses, is the whole truth about our pack,” Gwen said while moving her gaze from King Arthur to King Alexander. “We had not intended to expose our pack’s secret, but many things had happened over the past few months, and we are forced to come out.”
Everyone had found their place in the library. George, Juliet, and Gwen shared their hidden truths with the Purple-Eyed Pack. They took turns explaining their unique abilities and the reasons for concealing their existence.
“So, that was how -” Arthur paused and gulped. “That was how you cured me? I drank your blood?”
With a nod, Gwen responded, “Yes, Your Highness.”
“And you are saying that Hazel has the same ability?” The king asked.
“Yes, Your Highness,” Juliet confirmed. “My sister’s ability to heal others is as potent as Gwen’s, but we kept this ability hidden because we feared others would use it for their own gains.”
“Just like how Hazel had used hers by creating drugs that could cure illnesses and selling them for a high price,” Arthur muttered.
“But that’s just probably a fraction of the possibility,” King Alexander raised. In his seat, he leaned forward and suggested, “One could also kidnap the doctor and use her blood - abuse it for personal healing. Who knows, it could also be the key to eternal youth.”
Gwen and Juliet looked at each other. Then, Juliet shared, “We haven’t tested our abilities that far, My King, but we are sure that recipients can’t receive too much of our blood in a single dose or in successive days. The general rule applies to everyone. Our body can only consume a small amount of blood daily, which makes it safe. Otherwise, one can have iron toxicity or digestive problems.”
“It’s a great gift, Your Highnesses, but our pack’s past has proven that people can abuse us. I think that is why the Moon Goddess has given us weapons to defend ourselves,” Juliet added.
“And in as much as my wife wants to save the world, My King,” Theo spoke, addressing Arthur. “She also needs to take care of her health. Too much loss of blood won’t be good for her.”
“In the past, we have also seen pack members with the same ability become stressed with the demand. Sometimes, people are selfish and only want to be cured, not even minding the blood donor’s health,” George supplemented.
“And because of this, Your Highnesses, we ask you to continue safeguarding our secrets,” Gwen said before kneeling.
“Please, Your Highnesses,” Ian spoke. “I don’t want anything bad to happen to my mom and our pack.”
“Please, My King,” Theo kneeled next to Gwen. “I have given it much thought, and I think it’s still the best way to protect my family, especially Gwen.”
He turned to Ian and motioned to stand next to him. Theo explained, “Ian may not have inherited Gwen’s abilities, but who knows, we might have a child just like Gwen, and I would never want my child to be turned into a blood bank.”
“I still intend to help. That’s why I became a doctor,” Gwen added. “But I’d like to do it the same way I have been doing so in the past few years.”
“So, that’s why your services are reasonable,” King Alexander asked Gwen. “This is like almost a charity case for you.”
“Yes, for Doctor Weneth, but it wasn’t the case for Hazel,” Arthur remarked.
“Please, Your Highnesses,” Caroline pleaded next.
“Please, Your Highnesses,” Jacob followed, and the rest did the same, kneeling before the kings.
Silence followed in the next few seconds. Eventually, King Arthur responded, “I disagree that you should hide yourselves from the world. Having so many mysteries can only lead to curiosity. Some parts of your clan’s mysteries can be revealed openly to the world, like your magical weapons and ability to heal quickly. I think that will instead create fear in others and make them think twice about ever attacking your pack.”
Turning to George, Arthur suggested, “Think about it, if your warrior joins the advanced combat training, they will become stronger. The Purple-Eyed Pack will instead be the part of the elite forces.”
“I agree,” Alexander spoke. “And as for your eyes, it is believable to say that it is an iris pigmentation that affects most of your pack members.”
“However, as for Gwen and other selective members of your pack that can heal others, I think that part should remain confidential,” Arthur proposed. “And I, as one of the kings of Alfar, will help protect this covert fact.”
“But regardless of your decision, we will respect it,” Alexander said. “If you want to remain hidden from the world, so be it. I, too, as your king, will protect your abilities and your people.”
That day, Gwen and her family did not give their response to the kings. Instead, they slept on it, but the Allards knew that King Alexander and King Arthur had already compelled their men not to speak of what Hazel had shared about the Purple-Eyed Pack.
As for Hazel, she was sent into the dungeons of Cada City, where not only was she isolated from others, but her blood had been taken daily to help those who had suffered from the poison and viruses she and Alpha Madlock had spread across the nations of Alfar.
The next day, Gwen and her family made their decision.
Overall, there was fear in their hearts. Getting themselves out there could lead to more risks, but because their pack had fought alongside Port Leon’s warriors and King Alexander’s royal guards, technically, part of their mysteries were already out. So, Arthur’s suggestion made sense.
Standing before the kings, George said, “Your Highnesses, you are right. We have lived in the shadows for too long. It’s time we share our abilities with the world instead.”
George turned to Theo, revealing, “Theo had also convinced me that I can build alliances, a stronger way to protect my pack.”
“But Gwen’s ability to heal others will remain a secret,” Theo insisted while putting an arm around Gwen’s shoulder.
“Because I don’t want Mommy to be kidnapped,” Ian said.
“And you are all in agreement?” King Alexander asked.
“Yes, but we have yet to share our decision with the rest of the pack,” Juliet revealed.
King Alexander looked bemused. He raised his hands and asked, “Is this not the whole pack?”
“No, that is the last secret we have not told you, My King,” George revealed. The Lilac Pack is just a cover where all our working pack members register their residency, but in truth, we have another territory where my people live.”
“I see...Then, are you ready to introduce us to your people, Alpha George?” King Alexander asked.
“I’m willing to put my faith in you, My King,” George said, bowing his head. “So, yes.”
The next day, they all set out for the Purple-Eyed Pack, but not before King Alexander ordered his royal guards to bring gifts. Throughout the journey, the kings and their guards endured the lengthy trek to reach the pack.
Gwen, Ian, Baron, and Jacob were especially thrilled to return home again. Even better, coming back with Alfars kings.
As for Caroline and Theo, they looked forward to meeting the small community of Gwen and Jacob’s family.
The shock was evidently painted on the faces of each Purple-Eyed Pack, at least those who had never left their territory, for it was the first time they had visitors from outside. Thankfully, their shocked expressions were soon replaced with gratitude after King Alexander had delivered gifts to each household.
They were an intimate neighborhood, and it took only half a day to go around each house.
After that, the Purple-Eyed Pack gathered on their community grounds for an announcement. It was there that Alpha George fully disclosed his intentions.
Gwen watched as her father stood before the crowd and said, “My people, today marks a huge change within our pack, a decision to no longer stay in hiding. Instead, I have decided to harness each of your skills.”
‘The only secret that we will remain to keep is how some of our pack members can heal others, and you all know why,’ George mindlinked this part of his news.
Then, Gwen’s father resumed, voicing his objectives, “King Alexander and King Arthur had promised us not only to advance our warrior’s training but had also offered to protect our pack. With this, we will no longer live in fear; we can finally be free to be who we want to be. Maybe you will become doctors, like my daughter, financial consultants, educators, and more. The possibilities will be endless now.”
“I think this is the fate that Moon Goddess wants us to follow because two of our pack members found their mates outside our pack.” George looked at Theo and Caroline. He smiled and announced, “Let me introduce you to my son-in-law, Alpha Theo Erhart, Gwen’s mate, and Caroline Erhart, Jacob’s mate.”
