ALPHA Xayden
I dialed Frankie’s cell phone for the third time this morning unfailingly, but the fucker was deliberately not picking my calls. I was trying hard not to get mad or anything and allow my anger to ruin things but the bastard was deliberately making things hard for me. I didn’t want to lose it but I guess it was hard for me because, I didn’t know why he would he ignore my calls. Maybe because he felt like he has the upper hand. I can’t wait to shock him out of his wits.
The phone that I had placed on my desk some minutes ago, suddenly vibrated and I looked at the screen, and Frankie’s name flashed through. The phone hung up just as quickly as it had rung, and I smirk at his stupidity. He was calling me then hanging up due to fear, an Alpha king shouldn’t be that weak. Frankie wasn’t just weak, he’s more like an indecisive scaredy-cat.
I dialed his number quickly, and it rang once and he picked immediately.
“To what do I owe this call?” He asked me, going straight to the point.
I could picture him sitting on his chair as usual and leaning back while twirling his cup of whiskey and waiting for me to say something. I knew him too well, like the back of my hand. We once used to be inseparable but life happened and one of us had to grow up. If there was one thing I’ve admired about my half-brother, it is the fact that he is someone who is straight and concise.
I still had no idea why he was wasting time on this ultimatum I gave him.
My Paula for his Anne.
I was offering him a better substitute because he would never love Paula the way Anne once dominated his heart. They used to fool everyone under the guise of best friends and I could see right through that. That was one of the reasons I had kidnapped her once I realized what I should be fighting for.
I had always known she would be of use one of these days, and boy was I right.
“I’m still waiting for you to say something…” Frankie said again, interrupting my line of trailing thoughts and I chuckled.
My brother was one weird as I could remember that he had been the one who called me just now, even if it had been a short call. One thing that would never change about my brother was the fact that he was always trying to act macho.
Clearing my throat, I also went straight to the point as I told him, “How about the deal I told you about?”
“What deal?” Frankie asked, and I just rolled my eyes.
I knew exactly what he was trying to do. Trying to feign ignorance, but was not falling for his silly tricks. He shouldn’t even dare play that card with me. He knew how to go around in circles and make you feel like a total fool. Frankie is one mad man and I was not shocked at the game he was trying to play.
“Paula for Anne. What do you say about that offer? Are you going to give me back my pregnant woman, in exchange for Anne or are you going to let me kill her? And when I do so, I’ll be sure to taunt and gloat to her face that you caused her death. Imagine the terror and betrayal she’ll feel when she finds out she had a chance at being alive, and you threw it away all for that bitch.” I made sure to stress every word about Anne and his betrayal so that they would hit home.
“You wouldn’t dare!” He yelled and I immediately heard something shatter against the wall. I knew that I was right about him drinking whiskey in his office.
I immediately smirked as I said to him with a drawl, “Oh I would, I would dare. I would more than dare to if you test me”
“You have a deadline though. I think I’ve been lenient enough. I’m going to give you a few days for you to think, and get back to me with your decision. Let’s say five days from now huh? What do you think about that? Is it enough time for you or I should extend it? I can extend it if you…” I said but was immediately interrupted by him.
“Under what basis should I even believe you? How can I be sure that you really have her and that this is just not a stupid trick to get Paula?”
His question caught me off guard, and I was surprised. I laughed wickedly and loudly, making sure he heard me as I laughed tauntingly. This man was just underestimating me as he didn’t know how beastly I am.
“Yes, did what I say sound funny to you? I need to have solid proof before I can even make any decision. All these talks about deadlines are just ridiculous.”
“What other proof do you want? Anne is with me, and if you don’t believe that then you can go to hell. Maybe when I kill her, I’ll be sure to send you her body or pictures so you can pay your last respects…” I trailed off while cackling, and I know I’m already getting him riled up.
“I want to see her.” I hear him say calmly, and I scoff.
He surely must be joking.
“You must be ridicu…”
Frankie didn’t allow me to finish as he interjected, “I’ll be coming with my guards this evening, or right now to be precise. Get her ready for me to see. It’s either you do that or nothing. Besides I’m not the one at loss here. You’re fighting because of a woman, who is carrying your child so if there’s no reason why you should let me see her, then I think your child is enough reason for me to. See you later.”
Jaw gritted and immensely vexed already I started to say something, but the fucker had already hung up on me.
“Fuck!” I exclaimed loudly and flung my phone away.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck!”
