“What the hell just happened?” I said as I looked back at Frankie who was still seating on the floor.
He was also staring at me but oddly, his eyes were filled with amusement and…. lust?
What a weirdo!
I looked around and found that a lot of eyes were on me and they all had their mouth opened.
What was going on with me?
“Well, for one that was immensely hot Bambi! Secondly, that was amazing how you flipped me to the ground. It shows that the lessons are paying off.” He said as he slowly stood up from the ground.
“Frankie. The thing is that I don’t really remember what I did and when I did it. I just felt like I was in a dream one second and once I woke up, I was standing steps away from you. What is happening?” I explained in confusion.
Frankie’s smile dropped and his expression became serious before he approached me.
“What do you mean? It is absurd that you don’t remember. Is there something going on with you?” he asked with worry on his face.
“I don’t know but that was a very weird experience.” I said with a shiver.
“Hey, Bambi.” Frankie said softly as he approached me once more.
When he got to me, he softly stroked my hair and clasped my face in his hands.
“You don’t have to worry as that might be your real personality coming out but since you have suppressed it for years, it feels like an out of body experience.” he suggested in an unsure tone.
I didn’t think it was that at all because I didn’t suppress any personality as I had always been meek. I never even had the chance to build up a personality growing up as I tried to be the perfect meek daughter for my father so that he would at least notice me. I never knew any other side of myself asides this one so that notion is impossible.
I felt that the eyes of all the warriors and the helpers on the arena was still focused on me and that feeling of being in a dream hit me once more.
“What the fuck are you guys staring at, huh? Learn to mind your business will you or do you want me to gouge out your eyes?” I heard a rude voice bark out somewhere in the Arena.
Who is that rude person and why does their voice sound so familiar?
I shook my head in a bid to shake the haze off and when I succeeded, I found that the eyes of everyone were on me.
Frankie’s eyes were wide as he stared at me in utter disbelief.
“What’s going on?” I asked in confusion.
“Uhhmm….” Frankie trailed off.
It must be that rude person that was making all of them this way. I guess I would also be shocked if someone spoke so rudely to me in the presence of the Alpha.
I looked around and found that there was no one around.
“I just heard someone talking rudely to everyone and I found the voice to be oddly familiar. Who is it?” I asked in a whisper to Frankie as I leaned closer to him.
“Uhmm…. Paula? I… You were the person who just told everyone off rudely now. You suddenly gave them the stink eye and told them to mind their business else you will gouge their eyes out.” Frankie explained and once I processed what he said, I froze in shock.
“What? Why don’t I remember any of that? Am I going crazy or something?” I questioned Frankie as I put a hand on my head in frustration as I began to pace back and forth.
“Calm down Bambi. You are not crazy. I don’t know what’s wrong but I know that you are definitely not crazy.” Frankie comforted me as he held my shoulders to stop my pacing.
I knew that the whole Arena would be looking at me with a look that spelt that they were looking at a crazy woman but I didn’t really care.
“I know what’s wrong with you.” A familiar voice rang out in the arena and I looked up to check who it was.
My mother, Kayla was standing a few feet away looking at me with a soft and caring expression.
I haven’t spoken to her since the day she appeared here and this was the first time that I was hearing her voice since then.
“What do you mean by that?” Frankie asked when I refused to speak to her.
She redirected her gaze towards Frankie and then back to me before she started speaking.
“I actually do but I would really appreciate it if we talked privately.” She requested as she raised a brow at Frankie.
Frankie looked towards me for my approval and I nodded before I proceeded to follow him and my Mother to Frankie’s study.
When we entered the study, he shut the door before he led us to the sofa that was in the room.
“Okay. You can start talking now” Frankie said and I knew that he was leading the conversation because he knew that I wasn’t comfortable with my mother yet.
Truthfully, I didn’t think I would be able to get used to her presence in the nearest future. There was just something about her that weirded me out but o just couldn’t pinpoint it.
“Well, what Paula displayed out there was the other side of her. The ancient side.” she announced and I just stared at her in confusion.
The ancient side of me? What is that supposed to mean?
I stared at her in hopes that she would be able to enunciate on what she meant.
“What does that mean?” Frankie asked with the same amount of confusion I had.
“You know that she is an ancient, right? This is just the ancient side of her. It is trying to manifest itself and awaken so it is fighting for dominance. it is somewhat like Paula’s alter ego, so it will be showing the deepest and darkest sides of her. It is going to get worse as it will continuously fight for dominance until one of them wins and the other is totally squished.” She explained and even with that, the first question that came to my mind was…
“How do you know so much about ancients?” I blurted out with a raised brow.
“Uhhhmm” she trailed off In response with a look of uncomfortability on her face.
What the hell? Is she hiding something from us?
