“Okay, so my plan is actually a bit complicated.” I started but Kayla cut me off.
“Before you start explaining your plan, I need to know the overall goal you plan to achieve. I mean what is the end result of all the things you plan to do.” She asked as she lifted her cloak a little before she settled down on the table that looked like it had been there for about a hundred years.
Immediately she sat though, the table surprisingly became brand new once more.
I figured she had casted a spell so I asked her what type it was in case it could come in handy later. I figured it might be a cloaking spell or some shit like that.
“It is a simple cleaning spell.” she said with a sneer that spelt mockery all over her face.
I growled in anger at how low she was treating me.
“Don’t ever speak to me in such a mocking tone anymore or else.” I warned with a growl as I stood up from my chair and glared at her.
I was one thread of self-restraint away from rushing at her with all I had and snapping her neck.
“Or else what?” she snarkily asked as she crossed her arm at me provocatively.
“Ask yourself if you can truly do anything harm me in any way.” she snidely remarked.
That is true, she is a witch and a very powerful one at that, even stronger that Akayla. She might cast a spell that might permanently ruin me.
I breathed in deeply in a bid to calm myself and my wolf.
Not like he actually did give two fucks about me especially since I killed our mate. It was just his natural instinct to repel and be vigilant against witches.
Dumb wolf!
“Fine. I just thought that it might have been an illusion spell or something of that sorts but you needn’t have said it so rudely. If we actually have a chance to work together, we have to put our obvious differences aside and coexist without pulling our throats out.” I said in a bid to diffuse the situation.
She looked hesitant at first but nodded soon after.
As she sat on the table calmly, I couldn’t help but notice her uncanny resemblance towards Paula. She almost a lookalike except that she had a few wrinkles and grey hairs that wouldn’t be visible unless you looked really hard.
“So?” she asked snapping me out of my thoughts.
“So, what?” I asked with a confused expression.
She face palmed and then sighed.
“You were about to tell me the aim of your plan remember?” she said and it was then that I understood.
“Oh, yeah. The main aim of my plan is to rule the Werewolf realm as the Alpha king.” I answered.
“Small minded but go on. I need to hear your plan and what you need me for.” She said and I gritted my teeth at her remark
Calm down Xayden. You need her!
“Basically, my plan entails three stages. One, is to retrieve a particular artifact which I have done. Two, is to find a very powerful witch who can cast a spell to get the artifact working. That is also done, if you are willing to help me.” I said
She narrowed her eyes at me.
“What is the artifact for exactly?” she asked.
“I was just about getting to that. Thirdly, get the witch to use the artifact to lift a barrier or gateway, whatever you want to call it” I answered as I sat back down in my seat.
“What gateway is this exactly?” she asked as she stood up and raised a brow at me.
“The gateway to the human realm” I said with a smirk.
She was sure to listen to me now!
I observed her reaction for and I noticed that her eyes had widened but she was not making the slightest effort to speak or do anything.
Was she in so much shock and amazement by the plan that she froze? I have not gotten to the second phase though.
“Are you out of your mind?” she suddenly shrieked.
“I’m not in fact. I have thought it through and after multiple attempts at finding a different solution, this was all I could arrive at.” I replied.
“What the…. What in heavens name are you saying? Unlock the gateway to the human world? Do you know how much chaos that would bring? There is a reason why only witches are allowed in the human world, you know. That is because we can at least cloak and protect ourselves. Werewolves go there too sometimes but that is with strong help from the witches and that always drains them. Even witches are not safe as you can use what happened to me as an example. So why would you want to open the gateway to let those unpredictable anomalies into our world freely?” she questioned with incredulity written all over her face.
“I….” I started to say but she cut me off.
“Okay… let’s say your crazy plan worked and the gate to the realm of the humans are opened, what will you do then?” she asked as she covered her face with her palm and shook her head.
“I already have it all figured out. The humans might have weapons but they are still no match for magic and werewolf strength. If the cross over, there is a possibility that they will be killed. So, I planned to promise them safety and a place in our world in exchange for their alliance in forming an army so I can take over the werewolf realm.” I announced.
“Once I become the Alpha king, I will have a contingency plan to get rid of all the Humans once I am done with using them” I finished.
“What the hell? What kind of plan is that exactly? There are so many loopholes in this dangerous plan of yours. Firstly, you cannot guarantee that they will want to work with you as humans are instinctively inquisitive and they will want to explore and scourge the whole place, werewolf and witch land alike. Thus, we cannot really bank on the fact that they will want to work alongside one of the anomalies or things they plan to study.” She started.
“Secondly, even though they somehow agree to help you, we cannot guarantee that they won’t backstab you and later team up with Frankie behind your back. Trust me when I say Frankie is still undeniably stronger than you whether you care to accept that fact or not.” She said and I seethed at the fact that she was right.
“I get that fact but you don’t have to say that he is stronger than me or anything.” I said in anger.
She just rolled her eyes at me.
“As I was saying, your so-called contingency plan to get rid of them, what exactly is it?”
“Well I haven’t figured it out yet but I thought that we could probably use force and magic to drive them out”
“Do you hear yourself right now?” she asked.
“The same way that you were able to defeat Frankie, they can use that same ploy to defeat you to. Humans are vain creatures who only care about themselves. They will also try to take over whatever new territory they find at all costs”
That was when reality hit me. If I went through with my plan, the uncertainty outweighed the proposed gain. It was a really risky plan that could possibly blow up in my face.
I cannot risk that!
“It’s good that you finally agree for once that you are stupid in thinking that you can break the norm that had governed our world and not get a backlash.” My wolf chimed in.
“Shut the hell up. I never asked for your opinion.” I retorted angrily in my head.
“Fine. So, my plan is a bust. Do you have any other ideas?” I asked Kayla with folded arms.
“Yes, I do actually. I have one that is safer and would actually work.” She said with a smirk.
“Really?” I asked skeptically.
“Yes. I have a plan that will be able to get you your throne and possibly get Paula to be by your side while leaving Frankie in the mud.” She answered.
“What exactly is that plan?” I asked already intrigued.
“Well….” She started but trailed of at an interruption.
“I would also like to know how you will take down the almighty Frankie.” A voice chimed in.
I looked towards the person and my mouth fell open in shock.
Hawke!
After the initial shock, I became alert and got ready to pounce on him.
“Hey. Chill out dude. I want to work with you.” He blurted out with his hand stretched towards me in a bit to halt my steps.
“How am I to believe you?” I asked suspiciously.
“Well, he is with me.” Kayla chimed in.
“What?” I blurted out as I looked between both of them with narrowed eyes.
“What exactly is going on here?” I asked
“Did you not realize that he was able to get in here undetected even though you have a lot of werewolf watching over this place?” she asked and it was then that I realized that fact.
“So how exactly did he get in here?” I inquired.
Her eyes suddenly lit up. One was blue while the other was red.
I stepped back in surprise. This was the first time that I had seen a witch’s eyes light up in two different colors.
“I used a cloaking spell is all.” she informed me.
“Oh.” I exclaimed in realization.
“Why exactly are you helping us take down your Alpha?” I asked as I turned to face Hawke.
“Nothing really. I just have a score to settle with him and the best way to get back at him is to make him lose everything.” Hawke said with the most sinister expression I had ever seen on him.
“If we are all acquainted, can I talk about my plan now. I need to set it in motion as soon as possible and it may or may not turn my beloved daughter evil” Kayla announced.
“What? Turn Paula Evil?”
