A candlelight dinner in the pack house?
“Hell yes. It might not be much but it’s a start on bringing us closer together so I will most definitely agree to it.” I said, smiling and he just chuckled at me.
“Yes it will. Thank you so much for giving me a chance to redeem myself. I will make sure to show you how much you mean to me.” He uttered, smiling brightly as he held my hand eagerly.
“So I will just go now….” I said as I removed his hand from mine.
“What? Why?” He asked with a raised brow.
“I obviously have to get ready or do you think I should just show up to dinner in plain jeans?” I asked teasingly.
“Ohh. Sorry, I forgot about that. I guess I will also wrap up here and get ready.” He said sheepishly while scratching his head.
How cute!
“You better not stand me up, you hear? I am giving you a chance to make it up to me just like you said, alright?” I said with a smile and he nodded.
“I promise that I won’t so you don’t have to worry” he informed me with a smile.
“Okay then. Let me be on my way because I need to get ready.” I said with a wave and turned.
I started walking away but soon I stopped.
I had a lot of things going on in my mind at that moment.
I had to admit that I was a bit scared that he would disappoint me and not show up. I was so scared that the pillar in which I had always hoped to hold was going to crumble and leave me without support.
Frankie was and will always be a big part of me. He has helped me find myself as well as my path.
For that I would always be grateful and happy.
The thing is that the more he gave me his undivided attention and love, the more I craved it.
That was selfish of me and I knew it.
I so desperately clung on to the sweet nothings and affections that he gave me without caring that he also wanted the same back.
I was always sapping up the ‘I love you’ and the ‘I care for you and only you’ that he said to me without actually ever saying it back.
I feared that maybe he had gotten tired of waiting on me to come around and now he was searching for something like that too.
I sighed inwardly and turned back to face him.
I had made a decision and I was going to follow through with it even though it was scary.
“Do you need any other thing?” he asked with a raised brow, watching me attentively.
“I… I have something important to tell you tonight.” I finally announced in a semi stutter.
My heart was beating so fast and it took quite a lot of courage for me to announce that.
Not like he would know!
“Oh. Something important? What is that?” he asked curiously as he raised his brow at me.
“I’m not going to tell you now. I already said that I will tell you when we meet up tonight.” I told him with a chuckle.
“What? Why would you inform me in a teasing manner and not tell me? Now all I would be thinking about is on what you wanted to tell me. Can’t you at least give me a clue? Will I be happy about the news?” he bombarded me with questions in an eager tone.
“I am not telling you anything till tonight so hold your horses. And about you liking it or not…….” I said before I trailed off.
I really don’t know.
“That’s for you to find out.” I finished.
“Ugggh. Fine. I will try to exercise patience but just for you.” He replied with a groan.
I chuckled and said goodbye to him before I walked out.
I breathed out harshly once I was out.
I was going to do this once more and it made me very scared.
I just hoped that tonight goes well. If it doesn’t, I don’t know what I can do, I thought, walking towards my chambers.
On the way, I got a lot of greetings and stares from the help or the warriors.
Whatever that Frankie was doing seemed to be getting them to slowly accept me. Previously, they would just ignore me or stare me down but now they either greeted me respectfully or stared at me with no expression.
I was happy that I was getting accepted in a part of Frankie’s life.
I also greeted them back or ignored the ones who stared.
I didn’t have time to dilly dally because I had a dinner to prepare for.
I walked into my room and shut the door before walking to the closet that Frankie and I shared.
I opened it and for a moment I stared blankly at the piles and piles of clothes that had been hanged or folded at every corner.
I was sure that my items mostly dominated the closet and I was not even the one that picked them out.
I sighed and walked in.
I sure had a lot of work to do before I can get dressed.

Once Paula went out, I stopped smiling and confusion overtook my expression.
Something had been off with me these days but I didn’t know what exactly was causing it.
I went over to the shelf in my study and stared at it for a while contemplating.
I still remembered what Paula had said and that made me really confused.
Green specks in my eyes?
That was not any werewolf trait I was aware of and I knew that.
I had browsed through the knowledge of werewolf as a requirement for becoming Alpha king. So, whatever that was is so not normal.
There was one place that would get the answers for me.
I pulled out a book from one corner of the shelf and then I pulled another.
I did that for up to ten books before I stopped.
A click was heard and soon the bookshelf slid open with a rumbling noise.
Inside was an encased slab that was housing a book that looked very old and worn out.
I have no choice!
I open the glass case and picked up the book.
I went to my desk and opened the book before flipping through.
I stopped at a particular page and read through.
My eyes widened once I processed the information and as I was about to say something when it all became fuzzy.
I smiled and shut the book before I picked it up and tossed it in the trash.
I guess there is no use for that.
I walked to my chair and sat down before I buried myself in more work.

“That sure was close.” A voice called in a dark room.
“Yes, it sure was.” Another voice replied.
“The plan must work. They must never find out.” The first voice said.
“Yes, they will never find out.”
