An Unheard Voice - Chapter 6: Chapter 6

I'm literally frozen with fear right now. Kusanagi ended up having to stay in her room, along with the teacher.
"Boo!" Something slightly touched my back, but I immediately wrapped everything around Akito. Wait, aren't you supposed to do self defense first..?
"Aha! You should've seen your face, Toya!" An said, sitting next to the spot where I was.
"Toya.. are you okay?" Akito laughed, and I took a second to realize I haven't gotten off him yet. I do that growing flustered, and apologize. "It's fine. I'm not bothered by it."
His smile makes me even more embarrassed. I'm mentally screaming inside my head.
"We're going home tomorrow anyways, since apparently Mr. Kagamine ran into trouble and won't get released from.. Prison." Akito mumbles, and everyone shushes him, except glaring. He stares back, and they look away.
Every single time a scary part happens, the girls shriek so loud and even the boys. It scares me every time, my heart is still racing from the last time they did. It sounds so bad. But we're like 30 minutes away from the end, so I'll be fi-
"AHH?!" An screams, clinging onto me. What's going on?! We look behind us, and there's.. something that opened the door. Oh my god.
"What the hell?-" Akito isn't fazed.  I grab his arm, clinging onto it. I'm so sorry, but he's practically the only thing that makes me feel safe now. The stares at me for a few seconds, and back at the creature.
Everyone else screams, and this time, Akito joined. So something does scare him after all..?
(Komi ref but akito was not screaming because of the monster)
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" The teacher bows, with Kusanagi. Apparently they teamed up to scare us all.
"You scared the heck out of me! I'll never be the same after this trip." My classmate complains, and An agrees, except it's some kind of court.
"Did it scare you, Toya?" Akito asks, holding me. I got so scared that I refuse to get out wrapped with this blanket.
I nod a lot, and he laughs. They all left the room, but I saw some of them look like they wanted to murder Akito. What did he do that was so bad?
"It scared you too, didn't it..?" I ask, because we're alone now- but the lights are on!- It's not weird!
"Did I really look scared?"
"You screamed."
".. Yeah, that, yeah I got so scared.."
He stays silent for a few moments, but they're awkward moments. As he's about to say something, An bursts through the door again.
I felt my soul leap out of my body for a second.
"Shit, you broke him! Nice going, An!" Akito says, shaking me. An giggles, and shakes me too, but harder. I ended up puking.
"Is everyone ready?" Ms. Hatsune says, and the class goes out. Akito helps me with walking, and holds my water bottle.
"Forgive me!!" An cries, while he gives her a death stare. "Hey, but to be fair, Toya puked on me!"
".. I'm sorry..." I mumble, I didn't expect to aim for her shirt. It was my fault. Well, only for her having to change.
They both froze, and I stared at them. We're going to be left behind?
"OH MY GOD, SAY IT AGAIN I WASN'T RECORDING!! TOYA'S FIRST WORDS! I'M SO PROUD!!" An shouts, pulling out her phone. It caught the attention of the whole class, and they crowd around us, but Akito held me closer. Where did the microphone come from?
"Hey! Get back here, you all!" The teacher yells, dragging everyone back including us.
"This is the 'Isuien garden', right..? It has to be, isn't it..?" Ms. Hatsune grumbles, looking at the map.
"Yeah, this is it." Kusanagi says, looking it up on her phone. The teacher pats her head, smiling.
"Thank you, Nene. Alright you all, let's go explore!"
This is amazing. The water here makes the view so much better. An was hopping on the stones with Kusanagi, and Akito almost got pushed in the water by her. I sat down on the grass, enjoying the coolness. The leaves are very pretty.
"Do you like it here?" Akito asks, joining me. I nod. "Same. It's nice here."
I forgot my coat, so it's too cold. I'm already shivering.
"Do you.. want to borrow my jacket?" Akito offers, and I shake my head.
"I'm okay." I mumble, but you can probably tell I'm clearly not. He sighs, taking off his jacket. I stopped him, because he'll be cold after. But it turns out he's stronger than me. Akito then wraps it around me, and puts my head on his shoulder. I blush so hard that I'm already getting warmer.
We sat here for a few minutes, and I ended up falling asleep.
I woke up to myself.. carried on An's back. How is this physically possible?
"I don't know why you wouldn't let me. You look like you're about to fall, and I don't want Toya to get injured." Akito snickers, and she growls.
"I could get so much money off of this! I get to say 'I carried Toya', not everyone can say that!" She struggles, but before she can drop me Akito carries me in his arms.
"Jeez, how were you having a hard time? He's actually super-"
".. Light." Akito says, staring at me. I stared back, face flushed. He blushes after that, and almost drops me. I wrap my arms around him out of reflex, and turn bright red all over.
"What.. are you two doing?" Kusanagi asks, looking back up from her bag.
I get off quickly, looking at the floor. He looks away, we're both bright red. I really hope I don't fall asleep in public again.
After visiting a few places in an hour, the class complained it was too cold. So, we went back to the hotel for the rest of the day. We thought Ms. Hatsune was annoyed, but she was trembling the whole time to the hotel.
"... So, um- uh.." Akito tried to have a conversation, but I quickly turned away while flustered. ".. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to embarrass you. Guess I do that too often, huh..?" He smiles, but he shouldn't take the blame.
"It's not your fault! I'm.. sorry for causing you all the trouble." I apologize, and he ruffles my hair.
"Don't be sorry. Come on, we're falling behind." Akito smiles.
I nod, and follow him.
"You two are so slow! Now listen up you idiots- except you Toya and Nene, we are so glad to have you here." An says, slamming the door open to our room. Isn't this the room for males?
"What the hell..?" Akito glares at her, we were just getting ready for bed. We leave early tomorrow, so we decided to go to bed at 9:30. It's past my bedtime at home, anyways.
"Going to sleep already? You're no fun! Come on, let's just sneak into the kitchen one last time! If we get caught I'll take all the blame, pinky swear!" An pulls me up, wrapping her pinky around mine.
I look at her, uncertain. She pleads even more, so I eventually give in. Akito goes with me to make sure she doesn't use me to get out of trouble.
"It should be this way, just shush." She whispers, as if the lights aren't on. And like she didn't knock down so many things on our way. What's the point of even doing this? We can just ask for what we want. "Now we just need to-- ah!"
An bumps into someone, and we all bump into each other. She looks up, and it's Ms. Hatsune. Was An just scared of the teacher?
"What are you all doing? You should be preparing for bed by now." She raises an eyebrow, crossing her arms.
"U-Uh, we were just--" An tries explaining, but the teacher receives a call. "One second." She answers, shushing us.
"Yes? Rin? ... Really? Again? ... Oh, you've got to be kidding. ... Rin, I- ... Honey, I'm in the middle of scolding my students- ... I'll pick him up tomorrow. Bye. ... I love you too, dear..." Ms. Hatsune grows embarrassed, and sends us to our rooms.
Oh well, at least we're returning tomorrow. I kinda miss my mom's food, now. But I'll also miss Kyoto, my first time being somewhere away from the house in years.
"Goodnight, Toya." Akito says, and I smile back. I know I've already said this, but I'm glad Akito is by my side. It's a weird feeling when I think of him, but it's probably just because he's a close friend.
