The movie was over, and I turned off the tv. I stared at Casey, his head was still on my shoulder, eyes closed and a slight smile on his face, probably from whatever he was dreaming about. My stomach flipped and for once I didn't fight the smile on my face because no one was around to see it.
We hadn't talked about sleeping arrangements . . . I sighed, shaking his shoulder gently to wake him up.
He grumbled some gibberish and I shook him a little more. His eyes cracked open slightly, and I whispered. "I don't have an extra bed. I can sleep on the couch if you want?"
He shook his head, mumbling, "no... you're comfy..."
Dammit. He was just so damn cute. I sighed and picked up the half asleep boy bridal style and he grumbled something again as he buried his head into my chest.
Under my breath, I mumbled, "you're killing me here, Casey."
I carried him up the stairs with some difficulty, seeing as he was about my own weight. Once I got to my room, I set him gently on the bed and went to change, deciding I'd sleep on the couch cause he'd probably be uncomfortable and call it gay or something.
But as I was walking away, he grabbed my wrist and pulled, grumbling what sounded like, "don't go".
I sighed, prying his hand off as I whispered, "ok, just let me change."
He nodded sluggishly and let me go.
I changed into some pajamas in the bathroom. When I came back, Casey had rolled himself in my blankets like some kind of caterpillar in its cocoon. I walked over and attempted to pull some away, but he yanked them back and muttered, "these are my coconuts, asshole"
I laughed quietly, and then stopped, grinning as an idea came to me. I pulled out my phone and pressed record on the camera. I pulled on the blankets again, and he once again pulled them back.
This time sounding slightly distressed, and slurred at the same time, he said, "why are you trying to theal my coconuths?!"
I did it again, trying to see if I'd get him to say something else. He gasped dramatically and said, "help! He's thealing my coconuts and my ears!"
I was trying to stay quiet, but a chuckle escaped me anyway. Then I tried something else, straining to keep my voice serious. "Hey Casey, give me your coconuts."
This time his voice was more slurred than before. He turned his head completely the wrong way, looking at the ceiling as he whined, "Miles... thith creep trying to theal my coconuths!"
As he said it, he held out the blanket towards the ceiling and I took it from him, shaking my head with a grin. I ended the video and promised myself I'd show him in the morning.
I pulled the blankets in an attempt to get a little more than the sliver Casey had given me, and when he didn't budge I said, "can I have a little more coconuts?"
"Fiiinnneee...." he grumbled and rolled towards me so I could take more, bumping into me in the process.
I sighed, turning away from him in an attempt to get some sleep. If I had stayed facing towards him, I just knew I'd end up staring like a creep.
CASEY>>>
The light from the sun was far too bright, shining directly into my eyes. I screwed them shut as I rolled over to try and get it out of my eyes.
In the process, I rolled into something that felt like a wall. I was confused, cause my bed didn't have a wall there.
I squinted up at the wall, fairly surprised to see it was, in fact, not a wall. It was a person. It was Miles. He was still sleeping, his face oddly relaxed in a way I'd never seen him before. I could feel my own face grow very warm at the realization that I'd slept in his bed, remembering the night before.
I found my phone and took a picture. My face was definitely burning up. But I never got to see him like that. I decided to get some more sleep instead of dwelling on it and closed my eyes again, drifting off.
It seemed like only a few minutes later, but probably was like an hour. I groaned as I felt something poking my side.
It poked me again and I swatted at it, burying my face in the pillow.
"Casey, wake up." someone said, shaking me. I didn't respond and they did it again, "Casey, come on. I've gotta show you something."
Giving up, took my head out from the pillow and squinted up at whoever it was. Miles grinned down at me and he waited until I had sat up and woken myself up a little more.
I sat up and he handed me his phone, and I looked at him confused. He gestured to it, trying to get me to do something. I looked down, his phone was open to a video and I figured he wanted me to watch it. So I clicked on it and I started playing.
As the video played out, I laughed. I especially liked that part where I could hear him laugh a little. Miles smiled a little and I went out of the app, texting the video to myself.
"Have you done that before?" Miles asked.
I nodded, grinning. "I'm known for it."
I leaned over him to find my phone. I went through it and found the folder of videos, the entire folder was just videos of me sleep talking. Most of them were ones my brother took.
I picked out some of the best ones and sent them to him, making sure the picture of him sleeping was in the middle so he'd get a nice surprise.
He said he'd look through them later and we went downstairs to eat breakfast.
