I sighed as I closed my locker, today, it was the end of my freedom. Today, it was back to school.
I started down the hallway to math. Then faintly, I heard something.
It was the all too common chant of "fight"
I nearly thought I'd mistaken it. There were tons of fights at this school, it was notorious for it. But really? The first day back?
I sighed and jogged over, following the ruckus to see who it was.
Once I found it, I was able to push and weave my way to the front. Of course, one of them was Bobby Itten. He was basically in every fight that went on. But the surprising part was... Bobby was on the bottom.
He was being pounded by another kid who I didn't recognize.
But what really caught me off guard, was the new kid. He seemed to be smiling, quite enjoying himself. He had headphones that somehow managed to stay in even with all the chaos.
And if I was right . . . the kid was . . . umm, well, it looked like he was humming. I could hear it a little, even over the noise of the crowd. I have no idea how, but I could hear it.
Bobby finally managed to take control and flip the both over so the new kid was on the bottom, and started raining punches. The new kid managed to get a few good punches in, but then a teacher shoved through the crowd--nearly knocking me on my ass, I might add-- and pulled them apart.
I sighed, I had forgotten what this stupid school was like.
