"i wonder how y/n's internship is going."
[father's name] muttered to himself as he tiredly flipped through the channels on the small tv that sat across from his hospital bed. nothing seemed interesting to him, so he was about to turn the tv off until the news channel came on. the streets of hosu could be seen from a helicopter view and concern grew in his mind as that's the city that his daughter and wife were in as well as himself.
the reporter was talking about the occurring events and hearing that [mother's name] was alright eased his soul a little, but what was said next almost made his heart stop.
a u.a. student was kidnapped today in hosu city
seeing a picture of y/n display on the tv as the reporter explained the specifics of the situation, made [father's name] speechless. he rubbed his eyes a few times to see if it was all an illusion, but when the picture didn't change into a different person, he knew that it was real.
y/n was kidnapped. his princess who he swore to protect with his life was taken away and he wasn't there to prevent it. his anger grew just as much as his despair, leaving him in a crying mess. he was angry not only at his lack of ability to do anything, or the person who was responsible for this, but he was also angry at [mother's name].
he didn't know how it happened, but all he wanted to know was how did y/n get in that situation in the first place if her mother was supposed to be with her. speaking of the devil, [mother's name] walked into the room, almost as like him thinking about her somehow summoned her.
the silence was uncomfortable as he studied her face. the pained expression she held didn't look too genuine for him, almost like she was pretending like she was saddened by her daughter's disappearance. "hello [father's name]." she spoke softly. the greeting raised his concern levels even higher because of how calm she was.
he remained quiet as he continued to study her. something seemed off to him, but he wasn't quite sure on what it was. "i'm guessing you heard the news." she spoke again, with no hint of emotion in her voice. [father's name] simply nodded.
"it's a shame, she was all alone." she spoke inducing fear into [father's name] as a shiver ran up his spine. he had many thoughts and questions that he was wary of asking because of what the answer may be. "w-who are you?" he asked.
"i'm your wife darling!" [mother's name] exclaimed with a crazed expression as she stepped closer to the hospital bed. "did they drug you or something? can't you see that it's me?" she stepped closer again and [father's name] tried his best to scoot away for her, but since he had wires attached to him, it was difficult.
"where are you going silly? you can hardly walk, why are you trying to get out of the bed?" she asked. he didn't respond though. he just kept trying to get as far away as he could in that cramped bed. that was until [mother's name] hopped onto the bed and sat in his legs, stopping any further movement.
"look at me darling." she grabbed ahold of his chin and made him look at her. "you're not going anywhere because just like our sweet precious little princess y/n, you're going to be alone as well." the tone of her voice sounded murderous. "what do you mean?" [father's name] asked, as he felt his heartbeat out of his chest.
[mothers name] remained silent as she reached behind him for a pillow. [father's name] had no time to react as he was smothered. breathing became harder as he desperately tried to grab her wrist and push her off of him. however, his weakened state prevented him from doing so.
"die why don't ya." she mumbled as she continued to suffocate him. after a while his body went limp and it was quiet until the heart rate monitor started beeping. [mother's name] swiftly got off of the bed and threw the pillow somewhere in the room. she dusted her clothes off then took a deep breath before calling out for the doctors and nurses. "what happened ma'am?" one of them asked as a group of them rushed into the room.
"i- i don't know! we were just talking about our daughter and then he started hyperventilating and passed out!" [mother's name] explained hastily, hoping they would believe her. "ok." the nurse nodded, before going over to a doctor and relaying the message to them. with everyone in the room focused on the life-less pro, [mother's name] slipped out undetected.
once in the hallway, she saw herself. it was like she was looking in a mirror, but one side depicted a satisfied version of herself, while the other was a disheveled and tired version. a smirk plastered across the face of the satisfied one before she spoke playfully. "you look like shit." the tired one just stared, wondering if she was hallucinating.
"you're not going to say anything?" she asked herself, walking forward. [mother's name] tensed up when the other her, whispered in her ear. "too bad you couldn't say bye." her eyes widened and she turned to see that her doppelgรคnger was nowhere to be found. all she saw was a flash of blonde hair disappear around the corner that she had previously come from.
she brushed off the encounter as something she imagined and switched her focus back on what she had come to the hospital for. to see her husband. she walked into the room expecting to see him sitting up in his bed and either staring at the tv or out of the window like usual, but what she saw was far from it.
the world stopped and all she could focus on was the lack of life in her husband's face. she wasn't sure what the doctors or nurses were trying to tell her, as she rushed to the bed and grabbed [father's name]'s hand. it was ice cold, no sign of warmth anywhere to be found. she stepped back and tried to make sense of it, but it was too hard for her to do so.
[mother's name] couldn't understand how something like this could happen. how she could lose both her daughter and husband in less than a day. she didn't realize that she was crying until she was brought back to reality. a nurse was in front of her and was trying to remove her hands from her head because unbeknownst to her, she had started pulling her hair.
"ma'am please calm down." the nurse attempted to reassure her. [mother's name] just looked at them like they had spoken in a foreign language. "calm down?" she asked and received a nod in reply. how was she supposed to do that? she felt like a part of her had just died and she was supposed to calm down? bullshit. she thought.
"mrs. l/n?" an assertive voice spoke, making [mother's name] turn around. she saw the commander-in-chief and was confused as to why he would be there. "yes, that's me." she replied as she walked towards the dog-faced man. he sighed when he saw the state she was in and could only imagine how she was feeling. then he spoke. "we would like to take you in for questioning."
y/n blinked a few times as the urge to cry washed over her. she felt the type of sadness that you usually feel at funerals. the pain that you feel, once you lose someone that you love. she felt grief. she was confused about it though. why would she be feeling like that now?
"you got something in your eye?" a gruff voice asked, striking a nerve in her. "fuck you." she retorted, sending a glare in the direction of the person that spoke. they chuckled in response and walked out of the shadows and in front of y/n. dabi crouched down to her level, since she was sitting on the floor, and got uncomfortably close. "that's all you've been saying since you've got here. is that all your vocabulary consists of?"
she looked away from him in disgust and wished that she had nose plugs. "being a villain really takes a toll on your hygiene doesn't it." she said, causing dabi to scowl. "so you do know more words." he muttered angrily before standing up. "i'm leaving. if you need anything... i guess you'll just have to suffer until someone else comes and babysit you."
y/n rolled her eyes as he left. "i wonder what tobio and ochaco are doing." she said aloud, thinking about her two best friends. "probably stressing about me. i just hope that they're getting sleep because they don't need to lose any over me."
"how depressing." shigaraki mocked as he entered the room, kuroguri, toga, and twice followed behind him. y/n watched as they went to different areas of the bar and sat down. they started talking about random things that y/n could care less about, so she tried using her quirk. it didn't help that her hands were stuck in some sort of metal restraints though.
she eventually got her quirk to work as she felt wind start to pick up in the bar but the villains noticed as well since toga made her way over. "what you tryna do?" toga asked as she stood in front of the younger girl. y/n ignored her and continued to focus on her quirk, that was until shigaraki spoke. "aren't you concerned about your parents and your little friends?" he asked in a menacing tone causing, y/n to stop using her quirk.
she looked up at the villain, her face barely showed any emotion, but it was masking the fear that she held. "where are they?" she asked hastily. "not so fast." toga said, crouching down in front of y/n. "were going to tell you what we want out of you first, and then we might tell you information about your friends and your family." the upbeat tone in the blonde, made y/n feel uneasy as her eyes darted between the people in the room. "ok, just tell me."
"you're going to be a spy for us." the scratchy voice of shigaraki spoke from the other side of the bar. y/n looked at him like he was crazy. "spy?!" she exclaimed. that was one of the last things she wanted to do. not only will she be jeopardizing the safety of her friends, but she'll also be doing the opposite of what she wants to do in life. she'll be a villain.
"yes, you'll be a double agent." shigaraki said, his eyes scanned y/n's face for any sign of compliance. to no surprise, there wasn't any. y/n was far from agreeing to the villain's proposal. her mind ran with thoughts of how the school would react if she did go through with this and she didn't like the ideas that came to her mind. she could get expelled, maybe even put in jail.
"what if i said no?" she asked. an unsettling feeling overcame her as the villains laughed at her question. "we'll have nothing stopping us from killing your friends." shigaraki said. "i mean we already killed your father." toga added. y/n felt the world stop. "you did what?" she mumbled. "oops, i spilled the beans." the blonde joked.
"why?" she asked, her head down. when no one answered she shot her head up and glared at them before asking again. "why?! why did you do it!?" the bar started to shake as y/n's quirk activated. "she's going to kill us! no, she's not!" twice exclaimed as he held on to a barstool. the door busted open as dabi stumbled in. "what's going on?" he asked as he looked between his comrades and the teen. then he figured it out. "oh you told her."
"answer me!" y/n was getting impatient as she waited for someone to tell her something. "it was the only way we could get you to join us." kuroguri spoke, causing y/n to look in his direction. her anger was present all over her face, from her glaring eyes to her lowered eyebrows, and the scowl she held that was almost the same as bakugo's.
the thought of her blonde classmate, made her think of her other friends. tobio, ochaco, mina, midoriya, and todoroki. she wondered if he was alright since she never did get to the alleyway that he had run off to on that fateful night. she didn't like the thought of her friends being in danger, so she knew what she had to do.
to her, it seemed like the only way that she could protect them, even if it meant throwing her dreams away.
