                    Maeve’s POV
“We, the alphas of the dark moon pack, reject you in front of the pack, with the moon goddess as our sole witness, Maeve Callaso. We refuse to be mated to an outcast,” Zane spat with disgust in his tone. “One has to be forsaken by the goddess to be like this. Leave!” He added angrily.
“No, no, no!” I yelled and woke up, panting hard. Phew! Thank Goodness, It was just a nasty nightmare.
I stood up that morning with a smile on my face, knowing that today was the day I would finally get mated to the triplets. I had been waiting for this moment for what felt like years, and now it was finally here.
But as I got out of bed and went about my day, I felt like something was off. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but there was a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that wouldn’t go away. My worry that my dream could come true nagged me in the gut, and made me feel sick in the pit of my stomach.
“Good morning, Ma’am.” I heard someone say, and I turned around to face my maid, Gwen. She has been nothing but sweet ever since she was assigned to me after I got mated to the alpha.
“A pleasant morning to you too,” I said and she smiled. She was holding a plate of food in her hand. The smell made me nauseous almost immediately. I rushed into the toilet and vomited. I washed up, and walked towards the dining area for breakfast, trying not to think much of it.
“Where are the alphas?” I asked Gwen when I was met with an empty dining table.
“In the throne room with their father, the alpha. It seems to be very serious.” Gwen whispered and I nodded. My mind darted to the possibility that their father, Alpha Kayden, was trying to convince them not to mate with me officially and make me their Luna, since I was a scandalous wolf.
I brushed it off and sat down on the seat to eat, feeling excited to see the triplets later that night. I instinctively placed my hand on my stomach which seemed to have started swelling. I had noticed it a few days ago, but I didn’t think much of it thinking it was just bloating. I had my breakfast silently and after that, I was still feeling nauseous so I rushed to the toilet again.
“You are not okay, Ma’am. Should I get a doctor?” Gwen asked and I shook my head.
“I am fine… Just a bit indisposed.” I started to say, but then I paused as realization hit me. My period. It was a week late. I stared at Gwen. “Could it be?” I asked and Gwen gasped then covered her mouth.
“A pregnancy tube. Be quick.” I breathed out. She went down the hallway and went to my room. When she was back, she was holding the tube in her hand.
I walked into the bathroom, and peed into a small transparent container, placed the tube in it, and waited for some minutes. If I was indeed pregnant, then this could strengthen the triplets’ positions as alphas in waiting, since they will have an heir.
My position as their chosen mate and Luna of the pack will be secured too. I picked the tube from the cup and stared at it, and I immediately teared up at the sight of the two lines on it. I was pregnant. Pregnant with the heir of the Templar Dynasty. My happiness knew no bounds as I skipped out of the toilet and broke the news to Gwen.
“Congratulations, your ladyship.” Gwen squealed and I managed to nod, tears of joy streaming down my face. I had risen from being an outcast, the scandalous wolf, to becoming a mother. A mother to the heir of my pack.
As I headed to the meeting place, I felt a mixture of nervousness and excitement. I was going to tell the triplets about my pregnancy and I couldn’t wait to see their reaction. But when I got there, I saw Elsa, the bully of the pack, standing with them. Elsa used to torment me relentlessly, but she suddenly became my “friend” when she saw that the triplets were interested in me.
The beginning of my good fortune and happiness in my pack. My mind briefly darted back to the point when it all began.
As a young girl growing up in the pack, I always felt like the black sheep. I was different, and I knew it. Maybe it was my brown hair that blended in among all the blonde wolves, or maybe it was the fact that I always felt more comfortable with books than with the pack’s usual activities. Nonetheless, I never thought they would hate me so much.
Everything changed when I was caught in a room with a rogue. Nothing happened, I swear, but they didn’t believe me. They called me the w***e of the pack, disgusting, and accused me of sleeping with him. From that moment on, I was shunned by everyone. No one wanted to be seen with me, talk to me, or acknowledge my existence.
At school, it was even worse. They bullied me every chance they got. I was an easy target and didn’t have any friends to stand up for me. Until that fateful day when the alpha’s sons stepped in.
“Hey, slut.” Elsa said as I stood in line at the cafeteria to get my lunch. I said nothing, but bent my head, trying to avoid her. “Are you ignoring me?” Elsa asked furiously and pulled me back with my hoodie. I fell to the ground and my tray came crashing down.
“Elsa, please. Can we not do this today? I am very exhausted.” I said with a shaky voice, trying to find my balance.
“Aww, you poor poor naughty thing. Tell me, I mean tell us, who did you spend the night with that you are this tired? I mean it is barely noon, and you are already very exhausted.” She said and the girls that walked with her laughed. I said nothing and glared at her. “You w***e. Will you put those eyes down?” She asked and I stared at her coldly and hard.
“I told you to look down, dammit!” She said angrily and smacked me hard across the face, sending my hair flying across my face. The whole cafeteria went loud with laughter and mockery, and I looked around with tears in my eyes.
“Elsa, please stop,” I begged and she sighed. She walked towards where the milk was kept and dragged it. One by one, she opened them and dumped them on my head and I bowed my head as she poured the milk. I was powerless. If I did anything, she was going to do something worse than this.
This was how it has always been for me. When she was done, she smiled and looked me in the eyes. “What are you going to do about it now? Who are you going to report it to? Nobody Is going to believe a w***e like you.” She spat.
I stood up abruptly, wanting to use the bathroom. I have had enough of today’s bullying. I wanted to go home.
“Where do you think you’re going?” She asked and I said nothing but kept on walking. She walked up to me, and pulled me, pushing me hard on the floor. “When I talk to you, you answer me.” She said and pushed me again. I fell, hitting my head on the side of an iron table, my hands grazing the broken dishes. I felt liquid trickle down my head and nose.
“Oh my God, blood. She’s f*****g bleeding. Her head and her nose are bleeding!” One of the students yelled and loud gasps filled the cafe. I put my hand to touch my head, and saw blood. I started to feel a bit dizzy.
“What’s all this commotion…and blood. F**k.” I heard someone say and I opened my eyes a bit to see one of the Templar triplets in front of me.
The Templar triplets rarely had lunch in the cafeteria. They had their personal place for everything, including lectures. I’ll never forget the way they looked at me. It was like they were seeing me for the first time. Maybe they were, because I was so used to blending in that they probably never noticed me before.
“Zane, Sawyer, Ethan. What are you doing here?” Elsa asked, with a slow nervous smile. Ethan glared at her, while Zane tore his shirt and wrapped it around my head.
“Maeve, can you hear me?” He asked as he wiped my wounds and I nodded slowly. I couldn’t believe that any of the Templar triplets would stand up for me, for someone like me, who was a total outcast. I couldn’t even believe they knew my name.
“Did you hit this girl? For f**k sake, Elsa, this is a cafeteria. Let everybody f*****g eat in peace.” Ethan scolded her and she gulped nervously.
“I didn’t mean to push her. She ignored me while I was talking to her and I just wanted to teach the slut a bit of a lesson.” She replied to him and Sawyer glared at her, before coming to kneel in front of me.
“Can you stand?” He asked and I nodded weakly again. I was cold, and hungry. Seeing my own blood flow was something that always scared me to my bones. Sawyer, Zane, and Ethan looked at each other and nodded.
“Listen up, y’all. And listen to me good.” Zane said and the whole cafeteria went dead silent. “We, the Templar triplets, have decided to make Maeve Callaso ours to protect. We want to mate with her.” Zane announced and my body went rigid with shock.
The Templar triplets, mate with me? The outcast of the pack.
“But she was caught with a rogue wolf! You can’t mate someone like her.” Elsa cried and Sawyer looked at her coldly.
“I would very much guarantee that the girl is a hundred times better than you, or is it because yours hasn’t been uncovered and you were not caught red-handed?” Ethan asked and that shut her up immediately.
“From now henceforth, nobody. I repeat, nobody is to treat Maeve badly. Do you understand?” Zane yelled and everybody answered him.
I was too shocked and dazed to say anything. Everything had happened in a flash. Everything that had led us to this point. The point where I was right now. My status had changed. Everybody in the pack wanted to be friends with me. Even the bullies, Elsa, and her friends. Zane, Ethan, and Sawyer treated me very well, and I had found love with all three of them.
You might wonder how dating three werewolf men was not a hassle, but believe me, when you love, you do not care about numbers.
“Let’s get you ready for the ceremony. You can’t go to them looking like this. Besides, the ceremony begins in an hour.” Gwen proposed and I nodded. The news of my being pregnant would be the icing on the cake tonight. I changed into a purple gown, and wore some jewelry.
That nagging gut feeling in my throat resurfaced again and I sighed tiredly. Suddenly, my excitement drained from me. Seeing how none of the triplets came to look for me throughout the day, something was definitely not right.
“I am very nervous, Gwen. I feel it in my gut that something bad is going to happen tonight. Something very bad.” I said and she held my hands to show support.
“It’s just the nerves. Calm down, Your ladyship, nothing bad can happen. You are bearing the heir for the Templar family, the ruling family for this pack. What could possibly go wrong? The moon goddess allowed it, so you need not worry,” she said before she turned towards my table. “Here, drink a glass of cold water, it would help soothe your nerves.” She said and handed me a glass. I gulped the contents in the glass cup, and then she redid my lipgloss.
“There you are good to go. Shall we?” She smiled and I took a deep breath in and out.
“Sure, we shall,” I replied before I stood up and we both left.
When we got to the pack court where the ceremony was taking place, it was packed. Almost the entire population of the pack had come to witness it.
“Here she comes, the slut of the century!” I heard as I stepped out and I looked out to see who it was that spoke. It was Elsa, standing beside the triplets. I gripped my dress.
“What is going on?” I said, trying to suppress my uneasiness.
“We cannot get mated with you. I, in particular, cannot get mated to you.” Zane blurted out. This wasn’t happening, right? It’s a dream.
“It is taboo for men of elegance, class, and royalty to get mated to a scandalous woman, let alone make her our Luna.” Ethan shrugged with a cold smirk. I gripped the wall for support as dizziness washed over me. I tried very hard to steady myself.
“What…what are you saying, Ethan? Sawyer, say something.” I said slowly, tears forming in my eyes, but Sawyer looked away.
“We cannot mate with a scandalous omega. I mean, how can we make you a Luna? You would only bring shame to the Templar family name.” Ethan added to his words.
“But you said you loved me. Was all that a lie?” I said, tears streaming down my face. I couldn’t believe this was really happening.
“That was all to use you. We were bored, and in need of someone to fulfill our desires. Who is better than a weak omega, who is being trampled and bullied? It’d be easy to get into your head, feed you lies and use you. Now we are just bored and tired of you. Leave the pack.” Sawyer snarled, and I nearly collapsed on the floor.
“You can’t…you can’t do this to me,” I said slowly and they smirked at me.
“We, the Templar triplets, sons of Alpha Kayden Templar, hereby reject you, Maeve Callaso, on the moon goddess’s name, with our pack and family as witnesses. Leave our Pack, Maeve Callaso!” All three of them chorused and it hit me like a f*****g school bus.
I was being abandoned and rejected, and it was official.
