Arielle’S POV
“I don’t know what’s inside of it but I could guess that there was some kind of weird spell on it that she put that only you would be able to activate.” After I said that, I saw her hold the necklace carefully and gently as if she was afraid that it would break.
“I should give it to you after grandma died, but I foresaw the events where I would lose my memories. Plus you also erased my memories too, which was why I didn’t get the chance to give it to the rightful owner.” I said while letting out a heavy sigh, I didn’t even forget to say that the one that she shouldn’t blame shouldn’t be me because, in the first place, it was her, Natalie, who did something to my memories and made me lose some of the important details of my memories which was why she can’t blame me for this.
However, Natalie just didn’t say anything nor did she care about it. All she cared about was the necklace that I had given to her—which is originally for her since I was just keeping it because it was what grandma Celina had requested to give to Natalie.
Just when I was about to stand up when I suddenly heard her speak in a soft tone. “Thank you… It seems that she left me with a message, I always thought that she had forgotten me all these years or maybe she didn’t have time to meet with me because those people already killed her.”
When I heard her voice, I didn’t know how to react, after all, she was the witch leader who always challenged our tempers and even to the point that she hurt me and even the people whom I cared about.
Honestly, when I decided to give back the necklace which was entrusted by grandma Celina to me to Natalie, I wasn’t expecting anything nor expected that she would give her thanks. Rather than that, I was more expecting that she would stop the war and would stop her subordinates from killing innocent people. After all, that’s what I just wanted from the beginning.
I let out a soft chuckle as I nodded my head at her. “En, I’m sure that you are already satisfied with my present. I hope that you will stay true to your words.”
Natalie nodded her head and was about to take a bloody contract when I immediately stopped her.
“There’s no need for you to do that. Just do it right now and it will be okay.” I said with a smile as I looked her in the eyes.
Natalie let out a soft chuckle before she cast a spell and within just the snap of her finger, she looked at me and said, “I already did it.”
I also stared at her, and Natalie laughed. “I know, I will go back to my land and sleep there for thousands of years only after I see what Celine wanted to say to me.”
“I know,” I answered with a smile as I head out.
Before I left, I heard her say something. “You should treasure the people that you love before everything turns late.”
I didn’t say anything and just left directly without nostalgia.
I don’t support the way she dealt with her anger just by killing the lives of the people as if they were nothing and their life had no value for others. I hated the way she did that to others plus she had already hurt one of my loved ones and it doesn’t mean that I had forgiven her for doing that to them.
Just when I completely left the place when suddenly, I heard her speak again.
“I’m sorry… I don’t ever think that I still have time to open the necklace that Celine had left for me.”
My brows furrowed as I felt that there was something wrong with the way Natalie had spoken. Her voice contained hoarseness compared to her usual tone, which made me doubt.
I immediately took a glance in her direction. I couldn’t help but gasp as my eyes widened and rushed my way toward her direction.
The Natalie that I had saw became different. Although she looked the same, especially her face she still looked young, her hands became transparent.
I immediately grabbed the necklace that almost fell onto the ground.
“What happened? What’s wrong?” My brows wrinkled as I looked at Natalie with widened eyes.
Natalie looked at me and let out a bitter smile. “I already foresee my future being like this. Don’t worry, after this, I will sleep forever without waking up again.”
“How did this happen?” I asked while looking at Natalie who was still sitting on her chair with a calm demeanor as if she wasn’t bothered by what happened to her body, but the only thing that bothered her was the fact that she couldn’t touch the necklace.
Natalie smiled and answered her calmly, “Actually, I was originally dead but since I used the forbidden spell—which I had learned secretly from my beloved, Celine, and used it to myself after I was consumed by my anger and committed suicide then when I was in the brink of death, a thought suddenly pop-up in my head. I said to myself, why would I need to kill myself when I wasn’t the one who killed my beloved? Since they are the one who killed my beloved, then it is them who deserves to die. Because of that thought, I used the forbidden spell that Celine had always warned me not to do because once it will take an effect, as long as I wasn’t satisfied or did not let go of my anger, I will continue to exist no matter how much I will try to kill myself nor if anyone other than me would kill me.”
“However, once I fulfill my wishes, I would experience worse than death and it’s the consequences of using the forbidden spell which Celine didn’t want me to use. After all, after I die, my soul would split into small pieces of fragments and I can no longer exist anymore.”
After Natalie had said that, she let out a chuckle as if she didn’t care about it at all nor she regrets doing it. I didn’t find regret in her eyes, just disappointment.
As if she was disappointed that she can no longer hold the necklace nor see the message that she had longed to see all this time.
Seeing her being like this yet she didn’t ask for help, I let out a heavy sigh as I bent down to pick up the necklace and then put it on the table, in front of her.
“What should I do to undo the spell?” I asked coldly while looking at her.
I saw her eyes brighten in delight and there was a smile appeared on her lips. This expression of hers reminds me of the time when the first time that I met her. The same expression she used back then when she visit my grandma.
“Since you are Celine’s granddaughter then just use your blood. I mean, please drop it with a tiny amount of your blood.” Natalie softly said while looking at me with those hopeful gazes, making me nod my head.
After all, this was already considered her will and it’s not like I can reject her.
I took out the dagger that was in my pocket and pointed it at my finger. I used it to prick my forefinger, letting the drops of my blood, drip onto the pendant of the necklace.
It wasn’t until it suddenly made a bright white light but it only took a second.
Until we have heard such a familiar and nostalgic tone.
“It seemed that this message was safely delivered to you, Natalie.”
A woman suddenly popped up in front of us. Though it was just like a hologram it made Natalie almost cry as she stood up with her hands that are fading as she desperately touched Celine, who was looking at Natalie with a soft expression as she continued to talk with a smile.
“It has been a long time, Natalie.”
Hearing these words, Natalie couldn’t contain her tears as she sobbed in front of the hologram Celine.
I pursed my lips as I decided to leave Natalie alone, after all, she also needed some privacy and besides, I’m sure that before she would die, the last thing that she wanted to see was Celine.
Anyway, I also need to visit my mates and check what they were doing right now.
