He sat in front of the picture. A beautiful young girl danced around in the image. She had soft brown hair and pretty Blue eyes. She wore one of her award winning smiles, her smile used to light up the whole room whenever she'd step into a room and it would light up any life it came in contact with.
She was pregnant her small belly protruding slightly in the picture. She looked so peaceful and so happy and He loved the way she looked when she danced around and all the time they'd spent together. Sudden anger filled him as he delicately ran his fingers over the picture.
"Why?" He hissed quietly as he pressed his fingers into the slightly broken glass of the picture frame.
He missed her so much, he missed her smile and even worse he missed the way she would come up behind him and tangle her self up into his arms and press kisses all over his face no matter what she was doing. He missed the feeling of her soft skin pressed against his and oh the way she smelled.
It had been the most unique smell a combination of Cinnamon and a hint of vanilla. She always smelled good and he had no idea how she managed it. Even after she went running or to the gym she came home smelling intoxicating.
Her eyes were always full of life and eager to have fun no matter who she was with. She'd been close to all of them and He especially loved watching her interact with the others. She showed them just as much love as she showed him.
She'd have done anything for each and every one of them. Never did she put her self first especially when one of them was sick, it was like she'd become this amazing nurse and take the best care of him that she knew how and it was the best thing in the world. Even more so she came to every concert and every interview and press conference and photo shoot. She never left their side.
She was never supposed to become so much to these boys. They had hired her to have their child, They had made her promise after promise of how they would take care of her. He felt like they'd failed her miserably. She was going to be a nanny in the house after the by was born just to help them but sometimes things didn't play out like they wanted.
"Lou," A soft voice interrupted the rapid thoughts running through the male's head. Slowly he tilted his head up from the picture and looked in the door way where one of his younger Husnds stood.
His blonde hair wasn't combed like it normally was and it was matted to his forehead and he'd obviously been crying because his gorgeous blue eyes were red rimmed and blood shot.
"Come here," The elder spoke up quietly setting the picture down against the nursery nightstand. The blonde quickly moved into the room and over to Louis. He slid into the older boys opens arms as tears started to run down his face yet again.
"I love you Niall," Louis murmured gently as he began to run his fingers through the blonde's hair.
"I miss her so much," A small sob broke through Niall's throat and he clung tighter to his older husnd as he just continued to grieve. It was the most painful thing he could imagine. Sure he'd lost people before in his life but never someone he'd been so attached too. Never some one so close to him and he'd had to watch her go through this before it happened.
"I know Ni, Me too," Louis mumbled quietly and a silence settled over the room as the eldest continued to cradle the blonde in his lap.
"Guys?" a slightly wavering voice met their ears and they both turned towards the door. The other three lovers were standing in the door way tears all in their eyes but it was the little one standing in the middle of them that was the most heart breaking. A small three year old boy with dark brown hair and soft blue eyes and tears in his eyes.
"Hey Mattie," Niall sniffled climbing off Of Louis lap and walking over to the door way but the small three year old just looked passed him and to the picture of the female sitting on the by's changing table. Then he glanced to the crib where a one year old little girl lay sleeping. Tears layered the little boy's eyes before they started to fall down his face.
"Mommy," everyone in the room felt their chest seize up at the little boys cry. Liam bent down and picked up the now sobbing three year old.
"Why don't we go visit mommy?" Zayn suggested as he continue to hold the youngest of their lovers. 19 year old Harry was simply a mess and he was shaking much like the three year old. It was a nightmare for all of them and it was still so fresh.
"Please?" The little three year old cried quietly into Liam's shoulder. Niall looked at Louis who was already pulling the by girl from her crib and getting the stroller ready.
"Go get a jacket and put your shoes on and we'll go visit her," Louis' voice was a little cold but it held steady he was probly taking it the hardest. He almost blamed himself for what had happened and he felt like maybe if they had noticed sooner that she was sick it wouldn't have ended up like this. It didn't take long for everyone to be ready and they headed out side.
The walk wasn't that long so they decided it would be best to just let them walk because none of them were in any condition to drive right now. They reached the gates and the little three year old let out another pained noise as Louis pushed the gate open.
"Mommy!" The three year old cried as Liam set him down on the ground he raced through the grass reaching a large headstone in the ground He pressed his little hands against the large grey rock. The five fathers followed slowly letting the three year old have a moment alone.
"Matthew," Harry spoke softly as he bent down next to the three year old looking at the gravestone. Here lay Gracie Mae and there was a small picture of all the guys and the three year old and the new born by girl it was in the hospital right after Little Grace was born.
"I miss her," He cried softly and Louis felt like some one had just ripped out his heart out as the three year old started to scream at the head stone tears rolling down his cheeks.
"Mommy is still here Mattie," Louis finally stepped up as he walked over letting Liam take the stroller from him. The three year old looked at him his screaming slowing as he looked at the grave stone.
"She's always with you Mattie, She loved you so much," Louis could feel the tears stinging at his eyes .
"How do you know!" He questioned. The death was still fresh. It had only been a few weeks and Little Matthew thought his mom had left him on purpose he didn't understand that she was sick and there was nothing she could have done to stop it.
"She told me, She left you a video to watch when you get a little older so that you know just how much she loved you," He kissed the three year olds head.
"But I suppose we can watch it when We get home ok Just so you know how much mommy loved you." He choked.
"Ok," He sniffled. The three year old sat there for a little while longer before declaring he wanted to go home. But Louis wasn't ready to go home just yet.
"Why don't you guys take him home and show him the video ok? I'll be home in a bit," He murmured and the guys didn't question him. They knew sometimes Louis needed a bit more alone time then the rest of them to deal with this.
Louis remained sitting at the grave until the sun fell and a slight rain started to fall from the sky.
"Why!" He hissed as he looked at the grave and then at the sky. He missed her so much she'd meant so much to him and he'd never felt so helpless before.
"I love you so much," He cried quietly and he curled up that way for a few more minutes before standing up and starting the walk home.
He pushed open the door to reveal his family. Liam and Niall were tangled in each other's arms and harry was sleeping with both little Grace and Matthew in his arms and they looked exhausted. Zayn was sitting on the floor waiting for him to get home and as soon as the door opened he stood up.
"Hey be,"Zayn said softly noticing the tear tracks down his lovers face. He got up and pulled him close. Louis finally let it all go and just began to sob which woke up Liam, niall and Harry and they moved the kids to the couch and quickly gathered around the hurting male.
"She loved you too Lou," Harry spoke up quietly as he ran his fingers through the boys hair. They all move to the floor and let Louis spread out across them and sob until he had nothing left. Curled up together they all looked at each other and all let out a small sigh and relished in the fact that they at least have each other.
"No matter how hard it gets, you'll always have us," and Louis felt maybe just a little bit better.
