Emilia chattered nonstop along the way, and the more Veronica listened, the more she liked her. She could tell Emilia wasn't the scheming type—just a little too talkative.

As the two of them reached the field across from the Central District's conference room, Veronica spotted a male standing beside Joshua from a distance. He looked unfamiliar, and she figured this must be the Gabriel Emilia had mentioned.
Sure enough, Emilia, who stood beside her, waved excitedly. "Gabriel."
She looked like she was about to run over, but suddenly remembered Veronica beside her and grabbed her arm to drag her along. "Joshua, look who I brought you." Then she and Gabriel exchanged a look full of gossip.
Before Joshua could even speak, Gabriel had already stepped forward to greet Veronica, "Hello. I'm Gabriel Lawrence, Emilia's male."
Emilia chuckled next to them, "Gabriel, come here. I have stuff to tell you."
Gabriel quickly walked over to her side, and Veronica watched as the two of them started whispering about something. One moment they were giggling, the next they were gasping in mock shock.
Veronica thought, 'No wonder these two ended up together. They're both just as chatty.'
Joshua gazed at Veronica with quiet intensity. Ever since bonding with her, he found her beauty in everything she did.

Veronica's eyes flicked sideways, and she noticed Emilia and Gabriel deep in conversation nearby, totally oblivious to what was happening between her and Joshua.
Only then did she relax and reply, "Didn't we already agree on this? If I'm your Mistress, then of course I should take care of you."
Joshua couldn't help but laugh. He hadn't expected that the same female who'd trembled the first time they met would be the one saying something like that now. He gave her a long look, full of respect and quiet admiration.
He knew they still had a long road ahead of them, but he was willing to stay by her side and face whatever came next together.
"Yes, Mistress," he said. He pondered, 'I'll follow you for the rest of my life.'
Emilia and Gabriel were totally in their own zone, their nonstop chatter drifting across the open space, as if their voices alone were enough to fill the whole field.
They seemed to forget everything around them, completely absorbed in the conversation—laughing one moment, debating the next, teasing each other like no one else existed.
However, when the two finally realized they weren't alone, they couldn't help but look a little awkward. It dawned on them that maybe they'd gone a bit overboard, so they scratched their heads sheepishly, faint apologetic smiles creeping onto their faces.
