Freda’s POV
The Fullmoon Pack
I thought I would be sad when I heard Levi say that but strangely, I didn’t feel a thing as if I didn’t have any feelings about his cruelty anymore.
But these two had strange looks on their faces.
This was hilarious.
I calmly walked into the living room and said, “Now that I’m here, you can go ahead and tell me how you two slept together, how my mother died, and what you’ve hidden from me about her suicide.”
Levi looked irritated but then he quickly pretended to be normal and said, “I haven’t seen you for so long and that’s the way you talk to me, Freda?”
I reminded him, “Really? What else do you think I should say to a father who wants to kill me? Should I be thankful or upset? Too bad that I don’t have this kind of feelings anymore and I’m only here for my mother.”
“You…” Levi choked.
And Olivia slowly came to her senses and came at me, looking worried, “Freda, where’s Natasha? Where did you take her?”
“She’s acting,” Cam grunted in my head, “if she’s really worrying about her, she wouldn’t have been so calm and would’ve hit you with her claws. She wouldn’t have begged like this.”
I had lived under the same roof with Olivia for years and I could tell if she was acting or really worrying about Natasha. Then…it was possible that Natasha had told Olivia something before she came to me like what happened between her and Jason Andrews.
I tossed away her hands and questioned her, “You really don’t know where Natasha is?”
My question made her eyes glisten a little but then she argued, “How would I know? Freda, where’s Natasha? I know you hate her and me but she’s your sister after all. You can’t be so cruel. Where did you take her? What did you do to her, Freda?”
She looked like a desperate mother who wanted to know where her daughter was.
Compared to her, I was a little cold-blooded in other people’s eyes but I didn’t care. I sat on the couch and took the cup of black tea the servant handed me, saying, “I’m curious about one thing. Why do you think I have something to do with Natasha’s missing?”
“Someone saw it!” Olivia raised her voice, “before Natasha lost contact with us, the last person she saw was you. And after you talked, she went missing…”
Speaking of this, Olivia suddenly started weeping, “Natasha has always felt guilty about you. But Natasha is the one Carl loves and she doesn’t know what to do about it. She’s been tormented. Freda, I understand why you hate Natasha, me, your pack and even your father. I’m not asking for your forgiveness and just want you to tell me where she is. She’s willing to give the marriage contract to you. Please have mercy on her and the pack, okay? Where is she? What have you done to her? Freda, please tell me…”
“Look how much she’s willing to sacrifice! Good for her!” Cam gasped scornfully in my mind and if she had popcorn in her hand, she would definitely eat them and enjoy the show.
“Enough!” Levi finally roared wrathfully but he was yelling at me. He was the alpha of the Fullmoon Pack and it was good enough for him that he had tolerated me for so long, “Freda, Olivia is my partner and your elder. She has been nothing but tolerant of you. No matter how you dislike her, you can’t be so rude to her! Not to mention Natasha is your sister and your family. Tell me! Where did you take her?”
“She’s my elder? What kind of elder would drive my mother to death and let her daughter steal my marriage? And a sister who tries to take everything away from me? I don’t have that kind of family!”
“Freda!”
His dominant roar made the atmosphere in this room even more intense and the servants standing by the side all lowered their heads and held their breaths, trying to be invisible.
Seeing that I didn’t seem affected, Levi got even more pissed off.
I gently put down the teacup and looked at him coldly, “Alpha Levi, don’t forget what excuse you used to get me here. Even if you wanna interrogate me, be sincere.”
Levi pointed at me grimly and his voice was shaking, “You…”
He glared at me threateningly but I just looked him right in the eyes and wasn’t scared at all. We just stared at each other for a long time and finally, he squinted his eyes, saying in a deep voice, “Alright, fine! Since you wanna know the truth, all of the servants, leave the room right now!”
The servants hastily went out of the room and left us three here in the room alone. It was so quiet that I could only hear Levi’s heavy breathing.
Then Olivia held back Levi’s hand which was pointing at me and patted his back, comforting him. She sighed and then spoke, “Never mind, let me do the talking. Levi, don’t get upset. And Freda has the right to know the truth.”
I really wanted to see what Olivia would say.
Olivia closed her eyes and then looked at me in tears, sobbing, “Freda, you’ve hated me for all these years because you think I’m the homewrecker who ruined your parents’ marriage and drove your mother to death. But you…have been hating the wrong person.”
I clenched my hands and didn’t say anything.
Seeing that, Olivia bit her lip and continued, “Though Levi and I became lovers before they parted, we weren’t the only traitors in this relationship. Your mother also cheated.”
Natasha told me the same story so I wasn’t surprised at all. I just looked at her calmly even though all I wanted to do right now was to scratch her face with my claws.
“Because she’s in love with another man, her relationship with your father went worse and she stopped treating your father the way she did before. And then I met your father. At that time, I happened to get rejected by my mate and two lone souls met each other…” Olivia wiped off her tears and sighed, “so, your mother chose to commit suicide not only because she felt tormented for betraying your father but also because the one she loved left her. Natasha and I weren’t the reason she chose to leave.”
“Freda, the reason why your father didn’t tell you this for all these years is that he knows how much you love your mother and he did betray her and have Natasha with me,” Olivia started crying harder and couldn’t help leaning on Levi. And Levi held her in his arms and pursed his lips, wearing a long face.
What a tragic and lovely couple!
My laughter sounded a bit off-key in her crying.
“You, you don’t believe me?”
“Then should I be thankful to you that you’ve been protecting my mother and me for all these years?” I laughed, “who’s the lover you’re talking about? Who’s the one my mother loved, alpha Levi? Tell me!”
Levi paused and opened his mouth, not knowing what to say.
“You can’t tell me because that person doesn’t even exist,” I stopped holding back my anger, “you think I’m stupid? After living under the same roof with you guys for so many years, I know exactly what kind of people you are. If mother really betrayed you back then, how was it possible that you would just suck it and tolerate her and let grandpa give her so many properties? You would’ve used this excuse to take back the properties of the Greenwald Group a long time ago. Don’t be such a hypocrite, Manual, Olivia!”
“I really feel sorry for my mother because her mate is such a fake pushover!”
“How could you say that, Freda?! That person has left a long time ago,” Olivia gasped, “I know it’s hard for you to accept it but this is the truth. And how could you make an alpha admit that he was betrayed? Your father might have been playing favorites but he does love you!”
I couldn’t take it anymore. When Olivia came up to me, I threw my fist at her and screamed, “Shut up, you bitch!”
“I wanted to bite your neck off the second you started talking!”
“Freda, enough is enough!” Levi yelled outrageously, “you wanna know who it was? Then go ask your grandparents!”
