Freda POV
Three days later.
Levi held the press conference and the pack’s banquet together and invited a lot of people including the alpha of the Blood Moon Pack. He really made a big deal out of this.
I wasn’t surprised to see how much they took seriously of this banquet but I was shocked at how much Allen cared about it. He asked about the date and had someone send me a red evening dress. He even hired some professional stylists to dress me up.
“Allen, I’m going there to call off the engagement, not get engaged,” I was confused at all the work he had done for this.
Allen raised his eyebrows and said, “Well, it’s worth celebrating.”
He had made a good point and I had to admit that Allen had got good taste in fashion. The dress was simple yet elegant and the fabric was soft and comfortable and it really showed my curves perfectly. Even though I hadn’t gotten used to this dress, it made my boobs look even bigger and firmer. I always covered up my nice body with baggy clothes.
I wasn’t a fan of makeup and the stylist chose the best makeup look for me. Cam looked at me in the mirror and gasped, “You look stunning. You should get dressed up like this more often.”
Seeing how I looked, Allen was stunned and then awkwardly looked away. After a while, he said, “Go and show those idiots what they’ve been missing.”
Cam agreed with him in my head, “Hell yeah!”
I smiled, “Thanks for your compliments. Then I’m gonna borrow your beta.”
“Yeah,” Allen said in a deep voice, “go ahead and do whatever you want. You don’t need to worry about the consequences and I got your back.”
I knew Allen wasn’t only paying lip service when he promised to help me. I was kind of touched and gave him a warmer smile.
“Also, I got you a present.”
“What?”
But before I could ask him what present it was, the car drove away and headed to Starlight Hotel where the Fullmoon Pack held the banquet. Soon, we arrived at the hotel but we waited outside for some time and didn’t go in until it was past the appointed time.
Only this way could I make Levi and the others panic.
Just as I expected, Levi, who was worried that I would stand him up, had waited outside the door for a long time. Seeing that I had arrived, Levi was thrilled and hastily walked up to me, “Freda, what took you so long?”
The reporters couldn’t wait to point their cameras at us.
“You should be grateful that I’m willing to play along,” I said to Levi bluntly. I didn’t have any love for him anymore so I was being brutally honest.
“I’m not blaming you…” Levi choked on his words and said, “just go over there. Everything’s ready. Freda, alpha Hunter and I will make it up to you. I’m sorry to make you go through this.”
Make it up to me?
I laughed indifferently and glimpsed at Carl and Natasha who weren’t far away from here. Natasha got all dressed up today and was wearing a lot of makeup. Carl seemed to be amazed when he saw me but then he held Natasha in his arm, looking alert.
“You guys look great together,” I raised my eyebrows and smiled when I walked past them, “I do hope your love is truly pure and innocent.”
Natasha started playing the victim again and said, “Freda, I know I’ve failed you but Carl and I are desperately in love and I hope…you can give us your blessing.”
I looked at them and chuckled without saying anything back. I walked up to the stage and glanced at her. Natasha seemed to be afraid of something and worriedly clenched Carl’s hand.
I walked up the stairs as everyone fixed their eyes on me. They had set this stage for me and I just smiled at their cameras confidently.
“Miss Freda, so you’re the one who wanted to steal your sister’s fiancé and Natasha and Carl are meant for each other, am I right?” a reporter put forward the first question the second I walked onto the stage.
That was impressive. In a few days, they had already managed to make people believe that I was the one who tried to steal this marriage with the Blood Moon Pack. They thought that I was jealous of my sister and that the real lovebirds were Carl and Natasha. And what happened in the Moonlight Jewelry press conference put these two groups at risk.
“As for the recent events, I’ll answer all of your questions.” I glanced at everyone in the room and I wasn’t nervous at all as the flashlights were flicking like crazy. I said calmly, “I’m the oldest daughter of the Fullmoon Pack’s alpha but I left the Greenwald family a long time ago and barely talk to them.”
People started whispering to each other.
“No wonder the people in the Greenwald Group only knew about Natasha and thought she was alpha’s eldest daughter.”
“And the real firstborn can’t even go back to the Greenwald family while Natasha is the illegitimate child.”
The look on Levi and the others’ faces instantly changed and Natasha’s face went paler under that thick layer of makeup. She always hated being the illegitimate child of a mistress and right now she felt more humiliated than ever. She tried hard to suppress her anger and bit her lip, “Freda, for so many years, father has been trying to make it up to you and even made you the only heir to the pack. Even that can’t make you hate him less?”
“She’s the only heir? Then Natasha is left with nothing?!” someone gasped.
But without the help of my mother, the Greenwald Family and the Fullmoon Pack wouldn’t have gone this far and now everyone forgot all about her and only remembered Olivia. Levi even gave Natasha Moonlight Jewelry as compensation.
And Levi took his chance and hastily said, “Freda, I know you hate me but if you hadn’t called off the engagement just to cut us off, Natasha wouldn’t have fulfilled the marriage contract in place of you.”
In place of me?
Levi told them about canceling the engagement ahead of time just to stop me from saying anything against them. He even claimed that I was the reason why the engagement was broken off. He didn’t give a crap about me and all he cared about was his interest and his precious little daughter Natasha.
I couldn’t help but sneer, “Yeah, I almost forgot that I’m here to call off the engagement.”
A reporter heard what I just said and immediately asked, “What do you mean? Miss Freda, are you saying that up till now, you and Carl are still engaged? But Carl and Natasha have already announced that they are lovers.”
Levi panicked under the stage but I didn’t give him a chance to talk. I just said slowly and solemnly, “Yes. My mother is friends with the Blood Moon Pack and this marriage contract has been set on the year I was born. But the son of the Blood Moon Pack’s alpha cheated on me when the contract is still valid. I don’t want a marriage full of lies. So that’s why I’m here to cancel the engagement and set him free.”
“So Natasha is actually the home wrecker?”
“Did she sabotage her sister’s marriage just like her mother?”
“Is this what she called true love?”
