Third Person POV
Unlike Freda and Allen, the Greenwald estate was in chaos at the moment.
“I don’t know why my name is on the consent form to terminate the pregnancy. How could I possibly do that to my baby…he was my child…I felt like I was living in hell when I felt him leave my body…” Natasha howled and didn’t care about how she looked right now anymore.
Her tears did not get Carl’s attention this time.
Alpha Hunter and alpha Levi sat on the couch grimly without saying anything.
Now those who left the party were discussing their scandal. The daughter of the mistress had once again stolen the fiancé of the daughter of the first wife, and people always loved this kind of juicy gossip.
Natasha was crying in Olivia’s arms, but her eyes were filled with viciousness. It was all because of that bitch Freda! Natasha thought to herself furiously.
Alpha Hunter was wearing a long face and glared viciously at Carl who was quite pissed off, then slammed his scepter hard against Carl’s back out of spite, “Look at what you’ve done!”
Hunter was furious and didn’t show any mercy to Carl. He hit him so hard that Carl almost fell to the ground. Natasha’s face went pale and she hurriedly held Carl’s arm, saying, “No! No! Please don’t blame him! Alpha Hunter, it’s not Carl’s fault! It’s all my fault…”
She blocked Carl with her skinny body, which stopped Alpha Hunter’s scepter from swinging down again.
And Carl was finally moved by her gesture and held Natasha in his arms. It looked like they were two lovebirds whose love was being tested by all these obstacles.
Natasha went on acting, “I was the one who couldn’t control myself. It was me who couldn’t bear to see Carl being ignored by my sister and fell in love with Carl. It was me who loved Carl too much and wanted to be with him forever. But I can swear that I never abandoned our child. He’s my baby! I can swear on my life!”
Carl took that child very seriously. At the same time, this was also a wound that would never heal between Carl and Freda and Natasha could never admit that she did it.
Olivia also finally stood up for her at this time, “I know how important a child is for a mother. As a woman, Natasha would never do that! And Levi, you can’t suspect Natasha just because of a piece of paper! Not to mention the fact that Freda works at that hospital!”
Hearing that, Levi and Carl weren’t so sure anymore.
Yes, Freda was a doctor. And the hospital where Natasha had her miscarriage that day was the same one Freda worked at. It wasn’t hard for her to get a consent form to terminate the pregnancy.
“Freda is too proud and she would never do anything like that,” Levi paused and said.
Natasha’s eyes flashed with malice, but then she suppressed her true feelings and said pitifully, “Of course, I believe my sister, but her friend, the one named Mila…”
She didn’t finish the sentence but everyone knew what she meant and they all became a little suspicious.
Olivia chimed in at the right time, “Forget it, Levi. Since this marriage is not gonna work, then the engagement is over. Natasha, my child, it’s just so unfair to you. It’s you that everyone is talking about now, my poor child.”
“Just leave. If this union isn’t gonna work, we don’t need to cooperate with the Blood Moon Pack anymore,” Olivia said that but she was actually reminding them in such a euphemistic way that the Blood Moon Pack and the Fullmoon Pack had now long been united. If the Blood Moon Pack really turned their backs on them and Carl didn’t marry Natasha, no noble ladies would ever want to marry a guy like Carl anymore.
Natasha instantly understood what Olivia meant and pulled out of Carl’s arms reluctantly, “It’s all my fault. Never mind, I shouldn’t have put our tribes in such a difficult position because of my selfishness. Carl…we…I’ll go beg Freda to forgive us. As long as she’s willing to do that, I’m okay with never seeing you again…It’s for the best of our pack, too.”
Natasha looked like a candle in the wind and seemed so fragile that she was about to faint any second. Seeing how selfless she was right now, they thought of how cruel Freda was just then. Carl finally reached out to hold her hands and said in a hoarse voice, “I trust you, Natasha.”
Natasha wept and burst into tears.
Alpha Hunter looked at them and sat down as if he had become a lot older. He said in a deep voice, “This is the only way now. The marriage between the Fullmoon Pack and the Blood Moon Pack can no longer be canceled and our families are now on the same boat. That’s all we can do…”
“Yeah,” hearing that, Levi nodded, “there are still a lot of reporters out there and we need to go deal with them.”
Natasha looked at Carl with tears in her eyes as Carl tenderly held her in his arms.
After that, they went out hand in hand to face the curious reporters outside and put on quite a show. Although it didn’t go as well as Natasha thought it would, she had now managed to become Carl’s fiancée and the Luna of the Blood Moon Pack. She believed that time would make people forget everything, just like the way the stupidly proud former Luna of the Fullmoon Pack was forgotten.
On the way back, Alpha Hunter looked at Mrs. Vanessa, who had been silent all this time, and said, “I’m sorry, Vanessa. But now we’ll just have to let Carl and Natasha get married.”
Luna Vanessa didn’t give a damn about it at all. She had been watching them this whole evening and felt like they were all just a bunch of clowns, “I don’t care if it’s Freda or Natasha. Those Greenwald kids. I hate them all.”
“Vanessa, I know you’ve always held a grudge against Freda’s mother, but…” Hunter didn’t know what to say. Back then, if Freda’s mother Martha hadn’t married Levi, Hunter’s parents would want Martha to be his wife, and Vanessa had always resented Martha for that reason.
Vanessa snorted, “What’s the difference? Freda grew up to be a complete weirdo and Natasha is just the same as her mother. She’s nothing but a girl who was raised by a mistress and all she knows was to cry like a big baby.”
Hunter sighed and could only say, “Vanessa, now we just have to accept Natasha like we accepted Carl, I guess.”
Vanessa’s unruffled face finally started to change and she raised her voice, “No way! How dare you think that I’ve accepted Carl! I will never…”
“Carl has always treated you like his own mother…”
“He’s not my child! And he never will be!” Vanessa’s eyes flickered with pain, “he’ll never replace my baby! Stop trying to get me to accept Carl, Hunter!”
Vanessa suddenly thought of something and sneered, “But it works for me. Natasha is much better than Freda. Freda will always remind me of something I would never want to think of…”
