Freda POV
Allen wouldn’t come here for no reason. As his attending doctor, I subconsciously walked toward him and wanted to check up on him, “Are you doing well? Since we’re already in the hospital, the equipment here is much better and I can give you a checkup again.”
“That’s not why I’m here,” Allen said, sounding perfectly normal, “your bodyguards have reported to me that you came across something in the hospital so I came to see if there’s something I can help.”
He did come here for me.
Ever since that day I nearly got attacked by Levi and his wolves, Allen had been worried about my safety when I went out alone and had insisted that I should bring bodyguards with me.
Allen was being honest but that made me a little shy, not to mention that Mila was here, who was extremely gossipy. I didn’t have to turn my head to feel her teasing gaze. If she was in her wolf form, her tail must be wagging very hard right now. I turned around and glared at her, telling her to keep it down.
Mila pursed her lips and she didn’t really dare to get carried away in front of Allen. She tried to act more like a dean and sat down by her desk. She agreed to what I just said and proposed, “Yeah, you’re already in the hospital. Alpha Allen, how about another checkup? The last time you did it, Freda still hadn’t used her healing power on you. Things might be different this time.”
Before I could say anything, Cam suddenly yelled in my head, “Tell him to say yea, Freda! Let’s give Allen a thorough checkup! Especially his huge stuff!
Belle giggled.
Gosh, I could even hear her swallowing in my head.
“What if he can’t get it up? If that’s really the case, we can start treating him right now.” Belle added.
I rolled my eyes in my mind and ignored her.
Unexpectedly, Allen refused, “I’m aware of my condition and I don’t need an exam for now.”
Cam sighed pitifully in my head.
But Mila didn’t seem upset. If it was before, she would definitely sigh with Cam. Probably, this was related to medical science. Mila would be very serious and professional when it came to medical treatment. She nodded and didn’t say more to persuade Allen, “Okay, it’s just a piece of advice. I’m not gonna push you. By the way, Freda, what brings you here today?”
If it weren’t for Evelyn and Sam, we might’ve been discussing Allen’s condition now.
I pulled out the chair and sat next to Allen. He moved the cup of coffee and placed it in front of me.
I cast a glance at Allen, and then turned to Mila, “As I said, I’ve been using my healing power on Allen for some time now but he’s not getting any better.”
He was once a proud alpha but now he could only be in his wheelchair. I knew this must be hard for him so I wanna help him walk again as soon as possible.
Mila frowned and was lost in her thoughts.
“You had a false heat the first time you used your healing power to find alpha Allen’s wolf, right?” Mila suddenly asked.
“Yeah.” Since we were just talking about his medical treatment, I didn’t feel embarrassed or shy when I said that.
After pondering for a while, Mila tapped the case record with her pen and looked up at up seriously, “Alpha Allen, Freda, I have a theory.”
Allen nodded at her, “Tell us please.”
“If you two are mates…” Mila thought twice about what to say and continued, “injured werewolves tend to recover faster when they’re around their mates. But now that Allen’s wolf is gone, we don’t know for sure if the false heat was caused by your relationship as mates or just the illusion of your healing power. But if you guys are mates, then when you have intercourse, he’ll heal a lot faster and maybe you’ll be able to wake up Allen’s wolf sooner, Freda.”
The intercourse between mates.
This phrase wasn’t unfamiliar to me and Mila didn’t say that to fix us up. She wouldn’t make jokes about this kind of thing.
But to me, the intercourse between mates was way too…
“I refuse to do that,” someone said in a cold voice and broke the ice.
“I know this proposal seems too…” Mila paused in the middle of the sentence and couldn’t believe what she just heard. She batted her eyes to make sure she didn’t get him wrong, “Alpha Allen, you reject this proposal.”
I never expected that Allen would be the first one to say no.
Before that, Allen wanted me to marry him and become his Luna.
Maybe it was because Mila and I looked way too surprised, Allen looked me in the eye and said calmly, “I want you to be my mate but not in a way like this.”
“But this can also test if you guys are really mates…” Mila mumbled confusedly.
“Is there another way?” Allen asked without hesitation.
Allen cared a lot about his legs. He used to be such a powerful alpha. Now there was a perfect solution for him but he said no without thinking twice about it. I had a strange feeling and couldn’t keep my cool anymore.
Mila didn’t waste any time thinking why he just did that and came up with another plan, “Freda can continue to use her healing power on you but that might work very slowly. During the treatment, you might be able to stand up for a short amount of time but your legs won’t be able to keep standing for too long. And the other plan left is…to have another surgery.”
Having another surgery meant more pain and suffering for him and we weren’t 100% sure if he would be able to get up after the surgery.
However, Allen turned to me and asked, “Will Freda do my surgery?”
Mila paused for a second and nodded, “Of course. She’s not only your caretaker, but she’s also your attending doctor so she’ll be in charge of your surgery. Besides Freda, a team of professional doctors will assist her.”
Allen didn’t seem to care about what she said about that team of doctors and asked, “Will you still be my caretaker during the rehabilitation training after the surgery?”
I was a bit speechless when I heard that question but still nodded, “Yeah, Alpha Allen, I’ll always be your attending doctor and caretaker until you fully recover.”
Hearing that, Allen’s eyes somehow darkened and then he became normal again. He thought about it for a while and then said, “I choose the third plan and I wanna have another surgery.”
“But…”
Allen looked at me calmly and I felt like I was drowning in that lake of his golden eyes as he said, “Freda, I believe in you.”
What more could I say when my patient said that he believed in me? I grinned, “I’ll do my best and get you to walk again.”
I would never say that in front of other patients but I felt like I could be completely honest with Allen about anything because he trusted me with all his heart.
We smiled as we looked each other in the eye.
Mila faked a cough and reminded us that there was still another person in the room.
Allen said with the same look on his face, “Since we’ve made the decision, let’s go home now.”
