Freda’s POV
Levi pursed his lips and frowned at me as if I just hurt his ego by reminding him of his incompetence. But I no longer cared about his feelings and continued, “Before Grandpa was gone, he left shares to my mother and made me the sole heir of the Fullmoon Pack, which is something you must’ve remembered.”
“I know,” Levi was losing his patience with me, “but you don’t care about the Greenwald family at all. If you take the interests of the family into account, then you wouldn’t have made a scene at the annulment ceremony. So I’m not okay with leaving you the pack.”
“So the right thing to do is to do whatever you want and be a puppet?” I sneered, “and has the Greenwald family ever cared about me?”
“…I’m already trying to make it up to you,” Levi said after a long time of silence.
“By giving Moonlight Jewelry to Natasha or sicing your warriors on me?” I questioned him frigidly.
“I did that for the Greenwald family,” Levi mumbled. He didn’t dare to look me in the eye but then he thought of something, “Freda, who protected you at the banquet back then?”
Of course I wouldn’t tell him it was alpha Allen from the Midnight Claws Pack so I changed the subject, “I will never forgive Natasha and you. If you really care for me, you would’ve asked about my well-being.”
He froze, “Freda, what exactly do you want from me? Even though Natasha will be the heir, I’ll still give you the compensation money according to how many shares you have. And you’ve chosen to be a doctor after you graduated and showed no interest in running the company. I’ve talked to your grandmother and we’ve agreed that giving you the compensation money is the best choice for you.”
”Cut the crap. How much are you gonna give me?” I cut to the chase because I didn’t want to waste my time talking nonsense with him.
Alpha Levi’s eyes shimmered and he stopped trying to talk some sense into my head. He said seriously as if he was talking about business, “Since you have 20% shares of the company and my 3% as compensation, I’ll give you this figure…”
He put a check on the table in front of me.
”It’s enough money for you to live a comfortable life for the rest of your life even if you leave the Greenwald Pack,” Levi swirled his champagne glass and said, “if you hadn’t made a scene about Janie and Carl’s relationship, I could’ve given you more. But you know, our pack has been greatly impacted recently.”
I took the check and had a look. The figure on it might shock Mila but I was just disappointed. I took my champagne glass and took a sip as the cold liquid soothed me a little, “After I take this money, I have nothing to do with the Greenwald family or the Fullmoon Pack…”
“No, I’ve never meant to banish you.”
“But every step that you take means the same thing.”
“Greenwald Estate will always be your home if you wanna come back,” Levi said with difficulty.
“No,” I pushed the check back to him, “that place hasn’t been my home since a long time ago. And I don’t wanna have anything to do with you guys but…”
Levi suddenly got a bit nervous, “But what?”
“That’s not enough money.”
When it came to his interests, he stopped pretending to be a loving father and said, “That’s not enough for you? Freda, you can live a lavish life with that kind of money. Don’t be too greedy!”
“I’m greedy?” I chuckled, “you’re the one who’s greedy. Alpha Levi, don’t forget the money my mother and her pack invested in the Greenwald Group back then.”
“Your mother and I were mates and were supposed to support each other…”
“By letting your mistress drive your mate to death?”
“I told you this is too complicated for you to understand at that young age.”
“Try me now. I’m old enough to understand. You can tell me what kind of dilemma you were faced with and how complicated it was.”
“You…”
Levi didn’t know what to say and his neck turned red.
“If I really give you so much money, I will be in a very difficult position as well as the Greenwald family.”
“I’m leaving the Greenwald family anyway. That’s none of my business,” I said harshly, “this belongs to my mother and I don’t wanna see her life’s work go to the mistress who got her killed.”
“Freda! I’ve given you more than enough!”
“If you want me to leave the Greenwald family and let Natasha be the heir, give my and my mother’s properties back,” I said coldly, “as a businessman, you should know what it takes to do business. You have to be sincere enough.”
After saying that, I ignored him and got up to leave.
Levi said behind me, “Natasha is your sister.”
“Alpha Levi, don’t you think it’s disgusting to make me see the bastard of a murderer who killed my mother as my sister?” I was grossed out that Levi still wanted me and Natasha to get along.
“Freda, I’ve made enough compromises for you,” Levi breathed heavily and sounded like a desperate beast, “I’m the alpha of the Fullmoon Pack and you don’t get to point fingers at my decision about the heir. This is the best I can do for you.”
But I wasn’t scared at all, “I know exactly why you don’t want me to have the shares and want Natasha to be your heir. It’s only because you wanna use her marriage to get the help of the Blood Moon Pack. I don’t have a say in your decisions but I’ll never let you pave the way for Natasha using what belongs to me and my mother.”
“Freda, if you don’t take this check, I won’t give you anything and I’ll banish you in the name of alpha,” Levi said frigidly and he stopped pretending after I pointed out what was really on his mind.
“Is that gonna be any different than now?” I couldn’t help but laugh when I heard what he said, “and this is the option I offer you, alpha Levi. No one can change the fact that I’m the heir of the Fullmoon Pack unless I agree. And you’ll never get the properties that belong to me.”
“I won’t talk to you again unless you’ve thought this through.”
After that, I opened the door and left calmly but then Levi roared behind me, “Freda, you ignorant moron, I’m your father!”
In the hallway, I completely ignored him but Levi still walked up to me hastily.
“Freda, believe it or not, I’m really gonna banish you!”
“This is ridiculous.”
Levi and I both froze.
Because Allen was the one who said that and I didn’t know when he came to the hallway.
Allen sat in his wheelchair with a straight face and his voice sounded deep and intimidating, making people want to bow down to him. His golden eyes were full of overwhelming coldness, making it hard for people to breathe loudly.
He looked as scary and ruthless as the day I first met him.
Levi instantly behaved himself and suppressed his anger, “Alpha Allen, this is our family matter.”
But Allen didn’t even look at him.
I walked away and Levi didn’t dare to follow me again. It was odd. I didn’t notice the impact Levi had on my mood but when Allen showed up, I thought of the warmth of his hands when he held my hand last time.
It was warm and soothing.
I wanted to find a restroom to fix my makeup and cooled myself own but then someone dragged me into a box.
Levi pursed his lips and frowned at me as if I just hurt his ego by reminding him of his incompetence.
