I came home that day and immediately locked myself in my bedroom. No matter how many times my parents called for me, I couldn't bring myself to face them.
Under the scalding shower, I scrubbed my skin raw, desperate to erase every trace of that man's touch. The water burned against my wounds, but the physical pain was nothing compared to the suffocating weight in my chest.
I didn't want my parents to see, so I threw on baggy pajamas to hide the bruises before finally stepping out. I mumbled some excuse about being in a bad mood—just tired, just stressed. They bought it, their concern softening as they asked what I wanted for dinner.
At the table, I forced down every bite, my stomach twisting with nausea. But I smiled, nodded, played the part of their normal daughter.
Back in my room, my phone buzzed relentlessly. When I checked it, my blood turned to ice.
Richard.
Dozens of messages—photos, videos—all of me.
His threat was clear: Next week. You'll come to me again.
If you refuse, everyone you know gets to see.
My hands shook. I had no choice.
But the moment I remembered—his hands, his breath, the way he'd laughed—revulsion surged through me. I barely made it to the bathroom before vomiting everything up.
How was I supposed to escape him?
He owned me now.
