Sophie completely ignored Hurley and served dishes to Anabel. Anabel was very happy and enjoyed her meal.
Holding the public chopsticks, Anabel first served a dish to Sophie and then to Hurley. This was her first time having a meal with both Mommy and Daddy, but unfortunately, her big brother wasn't present.
Hurley also began eating without hesitation. However, after the first bite, he paused.
This taste... it was so familiar.
A sense of nostalgia, like something long-forgotten but lingering in the depths of memory.
Sophie's culinary skills were indeed impressive, and Hurley couldn't stop eating.
"I didn't expect, Miss Hades, that you can cook."
"You don't know a lot of things," Sophie's culinary skills were learned in the Michaels family.
She couldn't eat with the Michaels family, and sometimes even with the permission of Mrs. Erika and her mother, the servants wouldn't serve her.
Sophie had to quietly go to the kitchen and cook for herself.
Back when she was "Cersei Winters," she read online that to capture a man's heart, you had to capture his stomach. She cooked for Hurley several times, but unfortunately, he rarely got to eat them.
She would wait until the food was cold and Hurley still hadn't returned.
"It seems like the security in this community is not good. Anyone can come in!" Sophie said coldly.
Hurley replied, "I'm not just anyone."
"Then how did you get in? Does Mr. Walton have special privileges?"
Stephen just chuckled and didn't explain to Sophie.
He was stopped at the entrance as well; visitors needed the owner's approval to enter. Knowing that Sophie wouldn't let him in if he called, Hurley found a way to become the owner and entered legitimately.
Sophie didn't eat much during the meal, and Anabel, being a child, didn't eat a lot either. Hurley finished the leftovers.
Seeing Hurley, one might think he had been neglected and hadn't eaten for days.
"I don't have a free dinner here. Mr. Walton, please wash the dishes!" Sophie said.
Hurley had never washed dishes before, but he agreed, "Okay."
He went to the kitchen and tried to wash the dishes with running water, but found that the grease wouldn't come off. When he used his hands to wipe, they became covered in oil.
For someone with cleanliness preferences like Hurley, he looked at his dirty hands with a hint of disdain.
He had never thought that washing dishes could be such a troublesome task until he heard mocking voices behind him.
"If Walton Group goes bankrupt, Mr. Walton won't even be accepted as a dishwashing applicant."
"If Walton Group goes bankrupt, I will start anew."
"The green bottle over there is dish soap, for removing oil. Squeeze a bit and then use a towel to wipe it clean," Sophie guided him.
She didn't tell Hurley that there was a ready-made dishwasher underneath.
Hurley followed Sophie's instructions, stumbling for a while before finally washing the dishes.
Then he used hand soap to wash his hands several times.
When the two of them came out of the kitchen, Anabel was lying on the sofa with wide-open eyes, watching the two of them. Her clear eyes were filled with happiness.
Sophie came out, played with Anabel for a while, and then continued telling her the story from the book Anabel had brought with her when she came— a story Sophie hadn't finished during the day.
Sophie held Anabel and continued telling the story.
Hurley, on the other hand, leaned against the other side of the sofa. When Sophie finished the story and checked the time, realizing it was already late and thinking of asking Hurley to go back, she found that he had somehow fallen asleep.
