The private jet pierced through the clouds. Derek stared out the window at the shrinking city skyline, needle marks from IV drips still visible on the back of his hand.
He'd secured medical parole. The price? Permanent exile from Britain.
Those who once surrounded him had scattered—Lucien lived overseas under a false identity, hidden from daylight. Caleb had become an ordinary office worker. Raven remained locked behind bars.
The flight attendant offered him a drink. As he reached for it, his eyes caught the financial magazine's cover featuring Asher and me standing side by side.
The headline blazed: "Business Power Couple the Hollises Acquire Former Elite Family's Core Assets."
Derek hurled the magazine away, triggering his electronic ankle monitor. Its shrill alarm pierced the cabin.
Before the blue-domed church in Santorini, my white veil danced gracefully in the sea breeze.
"Nervous?" Asher noticed my trembling fingers and whispered softly.
I gazed at this impeccably dressed man, remembering how he'd wept at my grave in my past life. My eyes suddenly burned with tears. "I was thinking..."
The priest's ceremony was abruptly interrupted.
"I object!"
Gasps erupted from the seated guests.
A woman in sunglasses burst in. When she removed them, the commotion intensified.
Rachel! Her face was deathly pale, fresh scars from attempted suicide marking her wrists.
"Asher!" She pointed at me hysterically. "This woman has been reborn! She's a monster!"
Dead silence.
My blood turned to ice. I instinctively looked at Asher, only to see him calmly adjusting his cufflinks. "Security, remove this lunatic."
Four bodyguards immediately seized Rachel, dragging her toward the exit.
"You'll face retribution!" Rachel's screams faded into the distance. "Sienna, you won't have a good..."
Asher covered my ears and kissed me.
Amid the guests' applause, he pressed his forehead against mine and whispered, "Did I win this lifetime?"
I smiled and kissed him back. "You won long ago."
Three years after our wedding, the top floor of Hollis Group Tower underwent renovation.
I cradled my slightly rounded belly, directing workers to hang "Mystical Scene in Mist."
Asher had paid triple the price to carefully restore my late mentor's masterpiece.
"Mr. Asher, Ma'am skipped lunch again." Leon handed over his tablet helplessly. "I simply cannot convince her. Please find a solution."
The security footage showed me secretly dumping the nutritionist's pregnancy meal into the trash.
Asher shut off his computer and personally went to buy the tangy South European cuisine she'd been craving.
On his return, media captured the commanding CEO Asher carrying takeout bags, carefully ensuring nothing spilled.
#HollisCouple trended again.
The day I went into labor, the usually composed Asher nearly demolished the hospital.
"C-section! Right now!" He barely maintained his calm demeanor, almost grabbing the chief physician by the collar. "She's been in pain for twelve hours!"
I weakly tugged his sleeve. "Asher... calm down..."
"How can I be calm!" This man who never wavered at negotiation tables now had a trembling voice. "You..."
When the baby's cry finally rang out, I watched the commanding CEO Asher kneel beside the delivery bed, tears streaming down his face.
The nurse smiled. "Ms. Sienna, it's an adorable little girl. Have you chosen a name?"
"Danielle," I whispered.
Asher kissed my sweat-dampened forehead.
On little Danielle's full-month celebration, I discovered a locked safe in the walk-in closet. The password was the date of my rebirth.
Inside lay the original investigation report.
"You..." I turned to find Asher holding our daughter in the doorway. "You knew all along?"
Asher placed our sleeping daughter in her crib and wrapped his arms around me from behind.
"I started investigating the day your parents suddenly came to me." He kissed the top of my head. "Something as absurd as rebirth..."
"But you still believed it." I said softly.
"Because you said it." He smiled.
Fine rain misted the cemetery as I placed white roses before an unmarked headstone.
Here lay my past life's self.
Asher held a black umbrella while little Danielle in his arms curiously reached for falling raindrops.
"Daddy, who is Mommy talking to?" the little girl asked in her sweet voice.
Asher knelt on one knee, gently touching the cold stone. "Someone very important."
I turned with red-rimmed eyes to see my husband's tender profile through the rain.
"This lifetime," he stood and embraced us both, "I'll stay with you both until we're old."
In the car returning home, little Danielle slept peacefully in her car seat.
Leaning against Asher's shoulder, I suddenly noticed his phone's screensaver—our first family photo from the delivery room.
Through two lifetimes of reincarnation, he and I had finally found our perfect ending.
