"Brother Hurley, why aren't you going over there to take a look? What are you doing here?" Nick had already taken a stroll around and saw Hurley standing here, looking upstairs.
"What's so interesting about the stairs? And upstairs is all resting areas, there's nobody there either."
"Where's your new love? Did you two have a fight?" Nick realized belatedly.
"No."
"You've been restless all night, it's strange if you didn't have a fight," Nick said, disbelieving.
But to be honest, it was the first time Nick had seen Hurley like this, really unusual!
The hall was crowded, with many people chatting and networking. Many came to such occasions to meet new people and seek potential collaborations.
Hurley wasn't interested in any of that. Anyone who approached him earlier had been coldly rejected, so naturally, nobody dared to approach him afterwards.
Nick wanted to say something, but Hurley spoke first, "Do you hear any noises upstairs?"
Nick listened carefully, "I don't hear anything. Where would the noise come from?"
On the other side, Mr. Henry was pushing Old Master Harry Windsor over there, thanking everyone for coming to Old Master Windsor's birthday party.
Hurley had been staring at this side for a while now, but Sophie still hadn't come down. He scanned the area but couldn't see Adrian's figure either.
He had clearly heard some noise just now, but it was very faint, as if no one else had heard it.
Without any hesitation, Hurley went straight up the stairs.
"Brother Hurley, where are you going?" Nick quickly followed suit.
However, as Hurley ascended the stairs, the noise from downstairs diminished while that from the second floor amplified. He could now hear the chaotic voices coming from the corridor.
"Let's see where you're trying to run now. What, still thinking of jumping out of this window?"
"Didn't expect this girl to have such fighting strength. A woman daring enough to take on all four of us men."
"She should be out of energy by now, still putting on a show here. Look, there are marks on her neck, don't even know which guy left them. Such an indiscreet woman, what's wrong with us having some fun with her?"
"Her skin is so tender, I'm drooling."
Sophie looked at the men in front of her. They were all bruised, some even had wounds on their heads, with blood dripping onto Sophie's body.
Sophie didn't hold back in her attacks, and she was also injured all over her body.
She was truly exhausted, her head was heavy, and she could barely keep her eyes open. The stick she had been gripping tightly fell to the ground. She glanced at the window behind her. Although it was only the second floor, it was still quite high. There was nothing below, and considering her current state, jumping would definitely result in serious injuries.
But even if she ended up crippled or dead from the fall, she wouldn't let herself be defiled by this group of people.
It was true that her reputation was tarnished, but she had never been involved with anyone other than Hurley.
On the other side, Adrian looked at Sophie. "Stop struggling, Sophie. As long as you agree to be with me now, I can make them leave. Then, it'll just be me alone."
Sophie's eyes were bloodshot. She opened her mouth, and between her lips and teeth came a single word: "Go!"
"Sophie, if you keep this up, I can't help you!"
"Adrian, isn't this all because of you?" Sophie clung to the window behind her. "Adrian, we can never be friends again in this lifetime."
With that, without a second thought, Sophie was about to jump off the window sill in the next second.
