At the entrance, after handling many things, Chris came to find Hurley.
Not finding Hurley, he did see Carl sitting at the entrance looking unhappy.
Chris ignored Carl and instead called Hurley, who soon came out of the hospital room.
"Mr. Walton, everything has been taken care of as you instructed. Adrian has been thrown to the doorstep of the Shaw family, and we've also got some leads on the mastermind."
After all, those people were all found, afraid of death, and with a threat to their lives, they spilled everything.
"They were all hired by Miss Erika of the Michaels family to disguise themselves as security guards and infiltrate."
Hurley didn't think it was that simple. "She hired those people, but could she find Adrian? And does the Michaels family have the capability to arrange these people here as security guards?"
"What about Stella? Did you ask her?"
Hurley wasn't foolish either. Stella being able to rush up and cut Sophie's clothes wasn't likely a coincidence. And there weren't many people who could make Erika act and also have influence over Stella.
This person also needs to be able to persuade Carl and cooperate with him, which makes the possibilities even fewer. Hurley actually had an idea in his mind about who might be behind this.
What he least wanted to see was that woman doing it.
"I asked, but Miss Stella wouldn't say anything."
Hurley glanced towards Carl. "Does this have anything to do with Matilda?"
Carl and Matilda aren't really friends, at most they just cooperate. Since Hurley could figure it out, there was no need for him to hide it from Matilda.
"I know you're still asking me. If it weren't for Sophie's ambiguous relationship with my father, I wouldn't have agreed to do this with Matilda!"
"She has no relationship with your father!"
For some reason, Hurley just believed in Sophie.
There should be some secret between Sophie and Mr. Henry, but definitely not the kind Carl imagines.
Actually, the rumors about Sophie fishing for men outside, having unclear relationships with numerous men, and constantly being involved in scandals, are all from the outside world.
In fact, there is no evidence or photos.
If it were true, as the media claims, that Sophie enjoys sleeping with countless men, then why would she fiercely resist tonight? She would rather jump down than be with these people.
Although Hurley didn't have any evidence to prove that Sophie hadn't done anything, at this moment, he simply believed in her!
"I'll leave this to you. Keep an eye on Sophie. If she needs anything, cooperate with her. I need to go out for a while. Chris, you stay here too."
"Yes," Chris agreed.
"Hey!" Carl wanted to say something, but Hurley didn't even acknowledge him and just turned around and left.
Watching Hurley's back, Carl shivered.
He had a feeling that tonight wouldn't be peaceful. Someone was going to be in trouble again.
It was late at night, and the old lady of the Shaw family hadn't slept yet. Her heart was pounding, always feeling that something bad was happening.
Adrian is the next heir of their Shaw family. Although his actions have been restricted recently, this banquet hosted by the Windsor family is a great opportunity for him to make an appearance and network with others.
She also wanted Adrian to broaden his horizons, so she sent him.
But when she heard that Sophie seemed to be at the same banquet, she suddenly had a foreboding feeling.
Her eyelids had been twitching, and no one answered Adrian's phone. And at this hour, he still hadn't returned!
The old lady hadn't slept either, until the steward urgently knocked on her door.
"Madam, something terrible has happened!"
"The young master is covered in blood and has been thrown at the doorstep. It looks like he's been beaten to death!"
"What?!" The old lady of the Shaw family shot up from her seat, nearly fainting.
