In the hospital, Sophie opened her eyes.
It was eerily quiet all around.
The scent of disinfectant permeated the air - this was a hospital.
Sophie truly detested hospitals. When she was brought back by the Hades family, she spent half a year lying in the hospital.
It took half a year to recover her health and remove the horrifying scars from her face.
She looked at the IV drip that was almost finished, then reached out and pulled it out.
How did she end up in the hospital? Who brought her here?
She remembered seeing Hurley before she passed out.
It must have been an illusion. Why would Hurley come to save her? He would only come to kill her.
Her body ached, but it wasn't the usual kind of pain. It felt more like her bones being crushed, the kind of pain she endured when she fought with those people.
She must have defended her innocence, but Adrian...
Thinking of Adrian, a coldness flickered in Sophie's eyes. She hadn't expected Adrian to come after her.
Sophie stepped out of the hospital room, and the people outside heard her voice and quickly stood up.
"Miss Hades, you're awake." Chris was assigned here to watch over Sophie.
Behind Chris stood Carl.
Sophie nodded. She remembered Chris was Hurley's secretary. If Chris was here, could it be that Hurley really sent him to the hospital?
But there was no sign of Hurley around.
Seeing Sophie's gaze darken, Chris said, "Are you looking for Mr. Walton? Mr. Walton went to see Miss Matilda."
"Oh." Sophie's demeanor was very indifferent. Hurley went to see Matilda in the middle of the night, but what did that matter to her? It had nothing to do with her.
Seeing Sophie's expression, Chris realized his words were highly ambiguous.
He quickly added, "What I mean is, Mr. Walton knows that tonight's matter was arranged by Miss Jacobson, so he went to settle the score with her. Miss Hades, rest assured, Mr. Walton will definitely give you a fair deal."
Hurley went to settle the score with Matilda?
Sophie didn't quite believe it, after all, the relationship between Hurley and Matilda was never very clear.
But Sophie didn't want to dwell on this matter now; she was feeling a bit tired and just wanted to go back to rest.
"Is that so? Then tell Hurley that I'm heading back."
If someone else were in the hospital, she could come and visit, but if she had to stay in the hospital herself, Sophie would feel very uncomfortable, so she wanted to leave here as soon as possible.
She was a doctor herself and knew her body was fine.
Plus, Damon was still at home; she hadn't gone back or informed him, so Damon would surely be worried.
"Miss Hades, the doctor said you need to be observed for a while longer."
"No need, I know my body. I'm going back to rest."
"Miss Hades!" Chris couldn't stop her and didn't know what to do, so he quickly contacted Hurley.
Sophie arrived at the elevator, which was currently descending from upstairs. Sophie checked the time; it was already early morning. She waited for the elevator doors to open, not even bothering to see who was inside before she thought of rushing in.
However, she was caught by a strong arm, and with just one hand, the man lifted Sophie out of the elevator.
"Where are you going?"
With this familiar voice, Sophie looked up to see the dusty figure of Hurley.
"I'm going back; my son is still at home!"
"I've already had the butler pick up Damon to play with Jake. You should listen to the doctor and rest properly now. Why are you running around? You're all grown up but still not sensible?" Hurley spoke in a tone of admonishing a child.
