"Oh, right! I'm just so excited. I apologize for that," Dr. Sanders said, clearly nervous.
"Maya, what is there to hide? We're all going to be a family soon. And you being Night is something to be proud of. Why aren't we allowed to know about it at all?" Mrs. Harrington pretended to be upset.
Maya comforted Mrs. Harrington. "Of course, I didn't mean that, Auntie. I just don't want to be too high profile or enjoy what that status brings to me, that's all. At the end of the day, I'm just an ordinary person. And I just want to remind myself not to have any ulterior motives in the interactions that I have.
"Maya, you are so beautiful and kind. And it's great that you see it that way." Mrs. Harrington remarked. She was growing more and more fond of her future daughter-in-law with each passing moment.
"So Alana, Uncle, and Auntie, please don't tell anyone else about this," Maya begged.
"Don't worry, we won't tell a soul," the Harrington family assured her.
As Sophie led a group of people up the stairs, there was no one else in the garden, but voices could be heard coming from a nearby room.
"I was wondering if there was any kind of medical equipment on this cruise ship. The lady's condition needs to be checked again."
"Yes, I'll have someone take you there."
It was Mr. Harrington's voice. Soon Sophie saw someone come out.
It was the woman she had just rescued in the garden, in addition to Mr. Harrington and Alana, whom she had already met.
She heard Alana calling her mother, and it turned out that the woman she had revived was Mrs. Harrington.
Next to Mrs. Harrington was a woman who looked very much like her family.
It's Maya!
"Miss, where is the person you are talking about?" the waiter, who had been brought up by Sophie, asked.
It seems that the lady is doing just fine, and Dr. Sanders is still here, so she is no longer needed to help, and the waiter should be let go.
"I am sorry, it seems that I have made a mistake and I have inconvenienced you."
"No problem. If that's all, I'll attend to my duties," the waiter replied before leaving.
Alana helped her mother exit, while Maya assisted Mrs. Harrington on the other side.
As they emerged, Maya spotted Sophie standing in the garden.
It made her heart race. Why was Sophie here? What was she doing here?
Her footsteps faltered, drawing Mrs. Harrington's attention. Mrs. Harrington was confused and looked over.
"Who is she? Do you know her?" she asked.
"She's just a guest. Mom, let's go. We'd better check on you quickly." Alana replied, pushing Sophie away.
Maya looked away as well, but she was extremely panicked.
Sophie was very good as a child. She seemed to be a genius. Whatever she was doing, she was able to learn it without a lot of effort and do it well.
She had quietly competed with Sophie, but Sophie didn't seem to take her seriously.
Even now, the look in Sophie's eyes didn't seem to acknowledge her.
But for Sophie, she just thought that this woman looked very familiar as if she had seen her somewhere before, but she just couldn't place where she might have seen her.
Since everything seemed to be in order, Sophie went back to her room to continue to talk to her son on the phone.
Damon then said, "Mommy, what took you so long?"
"Mommy just saved someone," Sophie said.
"Wow, someone is really lucky to have you, Mommy!" Damon exclaimed. His mommy is really good.
Not long after the conversation with Damon, there was a knock at the door of Sophie's room.
"Who is it?" Sophie inquired.
"It's me," Hurley's voice answered from the other side.
Sophie opened the door and found Hurley standing there. She immediately noticed the faint smell of alcohol on him.
"Why did you come up here? Have you been drinking or something?"
"Just a little bit," Hurley admitted. "I was surrounded earlier, and I couldn't get away without a few drinks."
Hurley added, "If you don't like it, I promise I won't do any drinking in the future."
