Sophie fell silent.
This had nothing to do with whether she liked him drinking or not.
"What are you doing?" Hurley pushed his way into the room.
"Talking to my son," Sophie replied matter-of-factly.
Hurley looked over at Sophie's screen and saw a familiar face. There was no time for Damon to hide and he was caught by Hurley.
"Is he your son, or is he mine?" Hurley asked, remembering the earlier conversation that Sophie had with Jake.
"Jake and Damon are together," Sophie explained.
Hurley nodded, seemingly satisfied. Sophie and Damon hung up the phone after a short conversation between them. Sophie then poured a glass of warm water for Hurley to drink.
After he had drunk the water, Hurley asked, "Did you see anyone out of the ordinary up here earlier?"
"Who?"
"I heard a rumor. It seems that Night was here and rescued someone."
Sophie remained silent.
The last time Night had shown up, he saved Stephen. Hurley had been eager to express his gratitude, but his attempts at contact with Night had been unanswered.
If Night was here now, then Hurley was determined to get to know him.
"I don't know," Sophie finally replied. "I was in the room the whole time and didn't hear anything."
Hurley still felt that something was wrong, that he might have missed something.
The last time Night showed up at the hospital, Sophie was not there. He had heard that Night had been in the Dean's office, and he had happened to see Sophie when he had gone there.
This time, Night was saving someone again, but Sophie was not with him, she was on the same floor where Night was saving someone.
Is that really such a coincidence?
"You really haven't got any medical knowledge, do you?" Hurley looked at Sophie skeptically.
Sophie was surprised. She hadn't expected Hurley to still be so skeptical of her. "You still think I'm Night? I wish I had such great abilities."
"You've bandaged me before," Hurley said, remembering the last time he had to deal with Mr. Jordan. He had been injured while helping Sophie, and Sophie had bandaged it for him.
"It's just a basic bandage. If you just pick someone up on the street, she can do it."
"Since Night has saved someone again, the person who was saved must have seen him. Why don't you go and ask them?" Sophie suggested.
Her reasoning was that the people who had Night's identity in error would not suspect Sophie.
Hurley thought that Sophie's suggestion made a lot of sense, and he had already had someone look into who Night had saved.
Tonight, he should be able to see Night's true face!
Soon, Hurley heard that Mrs. Harrington had just gone into cardiac arrest and fainted, and it was Night who came to her aid.
Hurley asked Mrs. Harrington where she was now, and when he learned that she was on the third floor of the ship, he rushed over.
The cruise ships could be at sea for several months at a time, so the cruise ship had a medical room that was equipped with all sorts of medical equipment. Dr. Sanders examined Mrs. Harrington briefly.
After a few minutes of diagnosis, Mrs. Harrington was advised to get some rest and to be monitored closely for the next few days.
When Hurley and Sophie arrived downstairs, they heard Dr. Sanders say, "Fortunately, you were saved in time, and the method used to save people was very powerful.
"Under normal circumstances, if the cardiac arrest lasts for three to five minutes and the blood supply to the brain is not adequate, there is a high probability that the brain will be severely damaged. In general, if it lasts longer than five minutes, it's unlikely that the person is going to survive. But since Mrs. Harrington's heart was stopped for six minutes, she's still in pretty good shape. The 'miracle doctor' is truly miraculous!"
As Dr. Sanders spoke, his eyes darted at Maya's face.
How could she be able to do so much at such a young age? He began to ask himself this question.
