"I just think that we are all family. After you and Daniel get divorced, we will live here in the future."
Emily scoffed and said, "Ralph, if you want to live here, you need to work hard to be able to provide for me and our children. Look at you now - completely dependent on me. Do you look anything like a responsible man at all?"
Ralph's face tightened, and there was a hint of pain in his eyes. "Emily, do you despise me because I cannot earn money?"
"Ralph, today should be a happy occasion. I don't want to have an argument with you. Sophie, please sign the papers," Emily urged impatiently.
She had waited a long time for this day, and she had thought about this house for a long time.
When she got the house, she would use the remaining money to buy back all of Michael's shares.
Maya would then become the largest shareholder. Everything in the Michael family would be under Emily's control.
"What if I sign right now and you kill me?" Sophie said casually.
"Stop talking nonsense. If you don't sign, I will kill you right now!" Emily threatened.
"Emily, if you are going to divorce Daniel and stay with Ralph, why do you not share half of the house with other people? What will people think? Isn't loyalty to you worthless? Daniel didn't give you the house before. Don't you think that's unfair? After all, these people really love you and are willing to kill for you," Sophie countered.
"Think about it: If you take the money, betray someone, and get caught, you could go to prison for life for murder. If you're wealthy and influential by then, couldn't you find someone better?"
Sophie was now trying hard to stall, hoping that her babies could bring reinforcements quickly.
"Enough, Sophie. It's not your place to talk. Just sign the papers for me," Emily demanded, eager to complete her plans.
Sophie took the document and pen and pretended to read the contents. But her focus remained on Ralph. She was sure that her words had made an impression on him.
Sure enough, when she saw that Ralph's attention was on Emily, Sophie quickly walked over and kicked Ralph's hand.
Ralph felt the pain and threw the gun out of his hand.
"You!" Ralph didn't expect Sophie to sneak up on him. He hit Sophie directly. Sophie dodged and tried to pick up the gun on the floor. Ralph guessed Sophie's intention and also punched Sophie directly. The gun went over.
Seeing that she had little chance of winning, Sophie kicked the gun away.
"Emily! Pick up the gun quickly!" Ralph yelled at Emily.
Emily had never touched a gun before, but at this point, Ralph and Sophie were the only ones keeping an eye on her.
Emily quickly picked up the gun from the floor and pointed it at Sophie.
"I'll say it again," Sophie continued calmly, "If you kill me, you'll make Hurley very angry. Not only you, but your two daughters will face dire consequences and be buried with me."
"If you spare her," Sophie suggested, "I will sign the papers at once, and the house will be yours. I won't say a word about what happened today. Besides, I can offer you more money than you could ever spend in a lifetime."
Emily's hands trembled and she was obviously a little shaken by Sophie's words.
Sophie and Emily were always at odds, and Ralph's gun hovered between them.
"Emily, don't listen to her, give me the gun, give it to me." Ralph reached for the gun.
This woman is really evil and good at sowing discord.
She is a devil who plays with people's hearts. She was almost fooled by her just now and was shaken.
"Emily, think about what's best for your daughter and the immediate gains you can make. You're a smart woman, you're in control of your own destiny," Sophie urged.
"Emily, don't listen to her!" Ralph shouted.
Emily was visibly torn. Sophie's words struck a chord with her. She knew about Sophie's close relationship with Hurley. If anything happened to Sophie, Emily believed that Hurley would seek revenge.
Could she really trust Sophie's promises about the money and the house?
"Why are you so afraid she'll listen to me? Deep down, you know what Emily will choose," Sophie taunted Ralph. "She might even choose to end you."
"Shut up!" Ralph shouted at Sophie, his anger obvious.
In a fit of rage, he swung his fist at Sophie. The blow seemed potentially fatal. But in a split second of reaction, Sophie aimed a swift kick at Ralph's most vulnerable area.
Ralph screamed in pain and doubled over, giving Sophie the opportunity to dodge his attack.
At that moment, the door burst open and a group of people burst in shouting, "Police! Police! Drop the gun!"
Sophie also breathed a sigh of relief, her babies were the best.
Emily was stunned at the sight of the police, especially as she still had the gun in her hand.
"I didn't kill anyone, I didn't kill anyone, I swear!" Emily shook her head in fear.
"It's none of my business!"
Ralph hadn't expected Sophie to call the police. When did she call the police?
"Mommy!" Damon ran in from outside. Luckily, he arrived in time. Mommy was not missing any arms or legs.
"Baby! Mommy's fine."
"You scared me to death. Why did you come here alone without taking me?"
"Mommy didn't expect this either."
Ralph and Emily were both taken to the police station. Maya, who rushed over, did not come in when she saw the police outside the Michaels' mansion. With her current status, it was impossible for her to take a trip into that muddy water.
Sophie also went to the police station to take notes and was very cooperative.
After leaving the Michaels' property, Sophie saw a frightened child standing outside. Although he was wearing a mask, the panic in his eyes was real and he looked like he was about to cry.
It was Jake.
"Jake, come here."
Sophie waved and Jake ran over to her and threw himself into Sophie's arms. "I was so scared for you, Mommy."
On the way, he was afraid something would happen to Sophie. The bad guys had guns. Even though Damon kept reassuring him that everything was going to be okay, Jake was still very scared.
"It's ok, I'm ok."
Sophie reached out and wiped away Jake's tears.
Seeing her son crying like that, Sophie was heartbroken.
Jake's tears were flowing into the mask and Sophie said, "Baby, let me wipe your face."
"Yeah!" Jake nodded and took off the mask.
The moment he took it off, he thought of something, but it was too late for him to put it back on because Sophie had already seen it.
"I..." His eyes widened in panic.
Damon was right next to him, so of course it was impossible to pretend to be Damon. He didn't know how to explain to Sophie that he and Damon looked exactly alike.
