"Mrs. Hades," a policeman shouted at Sophie.
Quickly putting on the mask for Jake, Sophie said, "Jake, Damon, go home first. Mommy will join you as soon as she's finished giving her statement."
Jake nodded and he and Damon returned to Sophie's home, but on the way, Jake didn't know what to do. He was consumed with worry.
"Damon, do you think I scared Mommy?"
Even though he had thought about telling Mommy about his identity, there was a difference between telling Mommy himself and being found out by Mommy in this way.
"No, Mommy would have known about us a long time ago anyway," Damon said.
But Jake couldn't stay calm, he was still very scared.
Damon called Hurley twice more. What happened to the bad guy? Why didn't he pick up the phone? Did he know what kind of danger Mommy had just experienced?
Hurley left Tbilisi last night. As soon as he heard the news about the woman, Hurley rushed over.
The place where the little fool had been found was a small fishing village in a town that was close to the sea. She was described by the locals as a deranged wanderer with a disfiguring scar on her face. No one knew where she had come from, and the people of the village were determined to drive her out of their midst.
As Hurley rushed there, he saw the thin figure. She was dirty and had the look of a woman who had been blown away by a gust of wind. She also looked like she had been beaten by the villagers in the fishing village, and she had wounds all over her body.
She was so defensive that she wouldn't let anyone get close to her. As long as anyone got close to her, she would claw at them with all her teeth and her eyes, and her eyes were full of panic.
Hurley looked at the face, trying to find some familiarity in his memory.
However, he had very little memory of the woman, and he hadn't really cared much about her before.
Struggling to recognize her, Hurley cautiously approached her, "Cersei?"
At the sound of her name, the girl stopped in her tracks and the memories came rushing back to her.
"From this day forward, your name is Cersei."
"I'm not Cersei. My name is not Cersei... My name is Constance."
Slap!
The slap hit her hard in the face, and the sticks all hit her body, causing pain.
"You are Cersei, say it! Your name is Cersei!"
"I'm not..." That's not her name at all. What is her name again?
Immediately after that, a strong electric current went through her body, which hurt so much, and someone started injecting her with some medicine.
These people kept repeating that her name was Cersei.
The poor woman didn't know how long she had been tortured. She lay on the floor dying and mumbling. "My name is Cersei... My name is... Cersei."
These uncaptured memories were tangled in her mind. The woman crouched down and held her head. "Ah!"
She screamed, the expression on her face was distorted, and in combination with the vertical and horizontal scars, she looked very terrifying.
She had a very painful expression on her face, and she was desperately trying to catch something.
"Your name is Cersei, you are married to Hurley, and your favorite person is Hurley."
She opened her mouth and screamed loudly. "Hurley..."
Hurley's heart trembled. "Come here."
She looked at Hurley cautiously but walked towards him step by step.
Just as Hurley was about to make a call to get the people back to Tbilisi, the girl grabbed Hurley's cell phone and threw it to the ground.
"Take her to the hospital first!"
At the hospital, someone first gave her a bath, dressed her in clean clothes, and applied medicine to her wounds.
She huddled in the corner, shivering and looking around the unfamiliar room.
Outside, through the glass, Hurley looked at the girl. She covered her face and looked terrified.
The investigators told Hurley about the general situation. Hurley wanted to get someone to do an identification right away, but now there was only this woman's DNA, and there was no DNA from Jake or Anabel. He couldn't do it right away and would have to wait until he got back to Rustavi.
Hurley could not comprehend what she had endured over the years. Once carefree and playful, she now seemed plagued by various neurological problems.
A short time later, a man rushed over, panting. "Mr. Walton, there's a call for you from the young master."
Hurley rose immediately. "Jake?"
"Mr. Walton, why didn't you answer? Where have you been?" The voice of Damon came as an unexpected surprise.
"I'm on a business trip."
"Hmph!" Damon said in a huff and handed the phone to Jake without saying another word.
Jake, in contrast to Damon, was more composed. "Father."
"Jake, what happened? You wouldn't call without a reason."
"It's Mom... Damon's mother. She was attacked at the Micheals family house, and the attacker had a gun!" Jake's voice trembled with urgency, making Hurley's heart race.
"What?"
He'd only been gone a few hours and something of this magnitude had happened?
"Is Sophie okay?"
"She's fine. Luckily, she was able to make a phone call to Damon and then we were in contact with the police. She's giving her statement at the station right now."
"Thanks for letting me know, Jake. Take care."
"Understood."
After ending the call, Hurley immediately dialed Sophie's number. He used his subordinate's phone because his own had been damaged. Somehow he had memorized Sophie's number over time.
After a short pause, Sophie's voice came through, her grip tightening around the phone. "Hello?"
"It's me, Hurley."
There was a moment of silence before Sophie answered, her voice distant and detached. "What's wrong? Why are you calling?"
"I heard what Jake said. Are you okay? Were you hurt?" Hurley's voice trembled with worry, his heart aching to be at Sophie's side.
"You worry too much. If I were hurt, I wouldn't be answering your call," Sophie replied, her tone even.
"I can't take that chance. Let's video call so I can see you." Hurley started a video call with Sophie.
Despite the dodging of Ralph's blows, Sophie's lips were slightly bruised, and her complexion was a shade paler. She avoided showing this to Hurley; she knew he would make an endless fuss over her.
Sophie ended the video call, but their conversation continued.
"I am in the Public Security Bureau. This is a confidential area. If you try to make another video call without a valid reason, I'm going to hang up on you. I need to focus on the investigation," Sophie warned.
"Sophie, I'm worried about you."
"I'm fine," Sophie assured him, her voice steady.
Before, when she needed Hurley's support, she had called. But now she did not seem to want his help, nor did she want his concern.
Sophie ended the call, leaving Hurley worried. Unable to return immediately, he contacted Chris and urged him to investigate the situation thoroughly. This incident had to be handled properly.
