Hurley's heart is filled at this moment. He quietly and fervently wished that time could stop at this moment.
"Daddy!" Jake's gaze fixed on the scene before him, his expression a mix of surprise and skepticism. Is Daddy really going to see Anabel?
"Yes," After seeing what he was satisfied with, Hurley turned around and closed the door very gently.
"Daddy, have you eaten yet?" Jake asked.
Hurley shook his head, and Jake said, "We ate a lot tonight, but we haven't finished it yet. How about I heat up some food in the microwave so Daddy can take a few bites?"
"No, it's too late now, Daddy's not hungry," Hurley replied cautiously so as to not disturb Sophie who was sleeping peacefully.
"Go to bed now. Are you going to sleep with Damon?"
Jake nodded enthusiastically. "Yes!"
Even though their mother had a room in the house, Jake preferred to bunk with Damon. After all, they were brothers – the best of friends.
Good brothers sleep together!
"Alright, let's go. Daddy will take you back to your room," Hurley took Jake back to the room.
Damon was asleep, so Hurley didn't turn on the light. Half of his face was covered in the quilt, sleeping soundly.
Due to the dim lighting, Hurley couldn't make out his features.
"Lie down quickly," Hurley lifted the quilt from Jake.
The bed was spacious, easily accommodating two children and two adults.
Jake lay down obediently, but moved to the side: "Daddy, why don't you come and sleep with us?"
In fact, from the bottom of his heart, Jake yearned for his father to recognize and reunite with his mother, wishing their family would remain intact forever.
Despite their mother's plea to keep certain things from Daddy, Jake was eager to set the stage for a possible reconciliation.
The next morning, when it was still dawn, Damon was roused from his sleep by the need to use the bathroom. He got up from his bed and made a beeline towards the bathroom.
He came back to bed after he was finished. Just about when he was going back to sleep, he groped around and found that he seemed to be holding a big and hard pillow. He remembered that he didn't have such a big pillow.
And why is this pillow still warm? Damon touched it with his little hand and felt something was wrong.
Damon opened his eyes and looked at what he had just touched. When he saw Hurley, his eyes widened and he jumped up and screamed, "Aah! There's a ghost in my room!"
Why is the big bad guy in his room?
He is not a Superman, and he can't just appear in thin air!
And why isn't he wearing any clothes?
Before Hurley could even react, Damon quickly jumped into the bathroom.
Sophie, who was already up to make breakfast for the children, heard the sound and knocked on the door. "Damon, why are you screaming so early in the morning? And what ghost are you talking about?"
Not long after, the door to the room was opened, and Sophie was shocked when she saw the person in front of her.
The man was not wearing clothes, and his upper body was exposed. His strong chest muscles and neatly arranged abdominal muscles greeted Sophie by the door.
If it weren't for the fact that he was still wearing pants, Sophie would have called the police to report that someone had broken into her house.
She rubbed her eyes and found that the man in front of her had not disappeared.
What the hell!
"Why, you don't recognize me anymore?"Hurley asked with a playful smirk on his face as he was looking at Sophie, who was wearing home clothes and an apron.
Sophie stretched out her hand and pinched Hurley's cheek without any politeness.
"Ouch!" Hurley winced, rubbing the spot she pinched.
"You are really here, Hurley! And why are you here?" Sophie couldn't believe that Hurley, who was on a business trip, would show up at her home. When did Hurley come back? And why is she not informed at all?
"I came back last night," Hurley said.
"I didn't ask you when you came back, so you broke into my house last night?"
"I want... to come and see…" Hurley trailed off, not specifying who or what he wanted to see.
"And why aren't you wearing clothes?" Sophie asked, fuming.
"You don't have anything I can wear here," Hurley answered. He was covered in shirts and it was uncomfortable to sleep in, so he took them off last night.
"You...you..." Sophie was so angry that she couldn't utter a single word. This Hurley was too much!
Jake heard the sound and ran out rubbing his eyes. "Don't blame Daddy, I opened the door for Daddy,"
With her wide eyes and eager look, Sophie's heart softened, and there was no way she could blame him.
"Honey, it's not your fault. How could I blame you?" Sophie knelt down and said, "Jake, go get some sleep,"
Then he looked at Hurley. "Get dressed and get out of here!"
Hurley went back and put on yesterday's clothes, then opened the door and came out. Sophie had a kitchen knife in her hand, on her way to confront him.
Hurley walked up to Sophie. He leaned down and stared at the corner of Sophie's mouth. He even wanted to reach out and touch it, but Sophie slapped her away.
"Hurley, this is my home. Who allowed you to come in at will? You can't just barge in here!"
However, Hurley stared at the corner of Sophie's mouth. "Have you applied the medicine?"
He was pointing to the place where Sophie was beaten. The green mark was now very faint.
"Don't stray away from the topic! I'm talking about you entering my house! This is about you invading my privacy!"
Hurley admitted very quickly. "This is my fault. I asked Jake to open the door for me. It was too late at the time, and I didn't want to bother you,"
Everyone came, and Sophie didn't know what to say for a while.
"You can't do this next time! You can't do this with a child!"
She threatened with a kitchen knife. "Otherwise, I will ask Jake to open the door for me next time when you are not around, and then I will remove all the valuable things from your house!"
"Move it as you like," As long as Sophie likes it, Hurley doesn't care at all.
Even if Sophie likes something, Hurley is willing to give it to her. He can even have it delivered directly to her doorstep so Sophie won't have to do anything.
"What happened when you were in the hospital last time?"
"It's nothing, Sophie, there's something I need to do..." Hurley's Adam's apple rolled. He still wanted to tell Sophie about his ex-wife.
Before Hurley could speak, the door to the room over there was opened, and Anabel ran out and came to Hurley's side.
She hadn't seen her Daddy for several days, how could Anabel not miss him?
When Sophie saw this scene, she bit her lip. Hurley was really good to the children, and she could tell that he really loved them. The two children couldn't live without Hurley. Although he didn't say it, it could be seen from his behavior.
"Anabel, my little angel," Hurley picked up the child and let Anabel sit on his lap.
Seeing this scene, Sophie also gave up. She will let Hurley stay with the children for a while longer.
So, thanks to his children, Hurley stayed and had breakfast.
It's a pity that Damon has been in the room, saying that he saw something eye-catching that he shouldn't have seen in the morning, so he didn't come out to eat.
The more Damon behaves like this, the more strange Hurley feels.
It seemed that Damon would hide every time he saw him. What was going on?
