"Didn't you just call me Daddy?" Hurley teased, trying to lighten the mood.
Just now, when he was in action, he heard Damon call him ‘Daddy', but now, if he asks Damon to call him as such, Damon would refuse to say that word.
Damon hesitated for a while. ""Well, you did look pretty cool just now, and you looked like a young master who usually fights."
"Little kids shouldn't be fighting," Hurley chided gently, ruffling Damon's hair.
"But there is no one to help me. I can't let myself be bullied by them like this. Not only they scold me, but they also talk bad things about my mommy. I won't let them get away with it." Damon insisted.
Hurley looked at the determined young boy, his heart filled with an indescribable ache.
Sophie had just been found by the Hades family not long ago. It would come as to no surprise if people would find trouble with her.
Sophie must have had a very hard time back then, and Damon must have endured people's words alone.
"Well then, if need help next time, just ask me. I'll fight for you." Hurley assured him.
"Okay!" Damon bent his eyes and smiled happily.
At this moment, Hurley really wanted to see his smile under the mask.
It's a pity that before Hurley's hand was stretched out, the police came.
Fighting is considered a serious matter, especially to the man who was beaten down by Hurley. Seeing the police is like seeing a savior.
"Police! You guys are finally here! It's him! This is the man who just beat me! I don't even know why he did that!"
He hid behind the police, completely devoid of the scared look he had just made.
He didn't believe that in front of the police, Hurley will still dare to beat people.
The police chief in their city is his relative, so no one would dare to harm him.
He also believed that the police chief won't let this man go easily, and that if he dares to do anything to him, he will be having a hard time!
But Hurley doesn't care at all. It's not the first time he has entered the police station, and there has never been a time when he didn't retreat, and he didn't kill anyone.
But now, he had Damon to think about. A place like this was no environment for a child.
"Damon, I'm sorry, but we can't go shopping right now. I need to deal with this matter first. Don't worry, I'll make sure he never dares to speak ill of you and your mom again," Hurley reassured.
"I'm coming too! I want to go to the police station!" Damon insisted.
After a moment's thought, Hurley decided to take Damon with him.
In separate cars, Hurley and Landon didn't ride together. During the car journey, Damon provided a brief overview of the situation.
The child's name is Lloyd Lauza, and his dad's name, whom Hurley had an altercation with, is Landon Lauza. They come from a somewhat influential family.
But their background and influence is nowhere near to the Hades family, let alone Hurley's family.
"That person named Landon is always spreading rumors about Mommy outside, and Mommy doesn't pay her mind to him. Damon was disgusted when he mentioned this person.
Hurley nodded in understanding.
Damon grabbed Hurley's hand: "Big Bad Guy, are you okay? I just watched you hit him quite hard, and it looks like your hands were hurting."
"I'm fine," Hurley responded, showing little sign of discomfort.
Soon, all of them arrived at the police station. Landon had already called his uncle due to his family's influence. He shifted all the blame to Hurley and also claimed that there was surveillance footage that caught what really happened, that Hurley started it.
And Hurley's did strike first, so those policemen didn't bother to this matter further. Being the relative of the police chief, they directly side with Landon, saying that it was Hurley's problem. They accused Hurley of assault and are now planning to lock him up.
Observing the biased proceedings, Hurley interjected, "Shouldn't you conduct an investigation before making a judgment?"
"Is there really still a need to investigate? One officer retorted. "Mr. Lauza has spoken. Even if you're just looking for trouble, you've gone too far. If he looks into this, you won't see the outside of a prison for the rest of your life."
Seated with legs crossed, Hurley's demeanor was nonchalant. It almost seemed as if he was on vacation.
"He has that much power?" Hurley responded calmly, showing no fear.
"You're not from around here, so you probably don't know who you've crossed. You're done this time, and you've offended people who shouldn't be offended," one of the police officers said.
Damon, standing beside Hurley, refrained from commenting, silently lamenting Landon's poor choices. It was that Landon who didn't know who he had offended.
Meanwhile, Landon was busy making a formal complaint.
His face was swollen to the size of a pig's head. Two of his teeth have been knocked out by Hurley, and he laid writhing on the ground after the altercation. Covered in dirt, he appeared thoroughly humiliated.
Seeing this, Damon couldn't help but burst into laughter.
Landon shot Damon a furious glare before turning his attention to Hurley. "Listen, if you kneel down and apologize to me right at this moment, I might let this matter slide and consider forgiving you. Otherwise..."
But Landon didn't get to finish his threat as he continued to psyche himself up.
Hurley interrupted him with a cold, calm tone, "Are you sure?"
"Of course! You and Sophie must have some sort of a relationship. With how you look, maybe Sophie would be interested in you. As long as you can convince her to accompany me just for one night, I might let this matter go."
The audacity of this man mentioning Sophie infuriated Hurley. His gaze grew icier, and the atmosphere around him seemed to chill instantly.
"Do you think you have the right to mention her?" Hurley's voice was frigid.
"I ... I just asked what your relationship with her is. We're in a police station; can you even resort to violence here?"
Landon's fingers landed on Hurley, his fingers were still a little trembling, and he was still a little scared when he saw Hurley standing up.
He took two steps back, still trying to bolster his courage.
"Who do you think you are? Do you think you can control everything?"
However, Hurley walked in front of him, and without any warning, he directly grabbed his wrist and twisted it. The sound of bones shattered the momentary silence that enveloped the room and was quickly followed by a gut-wrenching cry.
"You're too noisy, you're getting on my nerves," Hurley commented blandly before gripping Landon's chin.
His strong fingers caused the jaw to make a sickening "crack", rendering Landon unable to scream due to the dislocation.
Landon looked at Hurley with horror, writhing on the floor in excruciating pain, unable to utter a word.
Damon was clearly entertained and wanted to applaud.
Those policemen didn't expect that this man Hurley will still dared to be so arrogant and harm Lanson. Landon had already called his uncle, and the director would come over soon.
When the time comes, this person will be in serious trouble.
Soon, there was a commotion outside announcing the director's arrival.
Even Landon managed to struggle to his feet and crawled towards the door, hoping for his uncle's intervention.
When a man with slightly graying hair entered, Landon fell to the ground, embracing the man's legs, silently begging for help, as if to say, "Uncle, you're finally here."
With such a big man crying on the ground, the police officer is even more embarrassed than he had just been at the door of the hotel.
This powerful man looked at Landon in disdain. "Get up!" He ordered, kicking Landon away. Then, he bent down before Hurley with a very different expression on his face.
"Mr. Walton, I didn't know that you came to Andorra. This is all a misunderstanding," the director stammered, leaving everyone else in the room utterly speechless.
