"Sophie! What is so good about that Walton guy?"
The old man doesn't understand, While he looks like that, and with the money that he cuurently, the Hades family wasn't lacking in looks and wealth either.
"Grandpa, this matter has nothing to do with Hurley. Please don't cause trouble for him. Since Hurley no longer acknowledges me, let's not make it an issue," Sophie responded calmly.
"Grandpa, I still have some things in my hands that I haven't dealt with. Once I finish up my pending tasks, I'm going to spend time with you. Does that sound good, Grandpa?" Sophie continued. "Grandpa, I know that you are doing all of this for my sake, and I owe you so much. In fact, bringing me back was like giving me a second chance at life. I am more than grateful."
"All the decisions I've made were my own. I don't regret any of them. Grandpa, please let me handle this on my own, alright?"
Observing the sincerity in Sophie's eyes, the old man let out a sigh.
He wondered what was so captivating about this Walton guy that could so deeply enthrall his usually sensible granddaughter.
He remembered that there were several people in Andorra who were chasing Sophie. And while some of them were also very good, the old man had always turned them down because he felt that their personalities were not quite compatible with Sophie's.
Now it seems that he has to arrange for these people to meet with Sophie again.
"Sophie, you know I can't ignore this matter. I can't stand by and watch you get ensnared by this Walton guy again and potentially make a mistake," the old man voiced his concerns.
Sophie chuckled, and she hugged the old man. "Grandpa, I'm not that naive. The situation between Hurley and me isn't what you think. Grandpa, you just believein me, okay?"
After a moment of contemplation, the old man nodded.
He recognized Sophie's stubborn nature, much like he was: once she made up her mind, it was hard to change it.
He'd have to agree first and then strategize later.
After reassuring her grandfather, Sophie still had work to attend to. And after having lunch with the old man, Sophie left and continued to go back to the laboratory.
After she left, the old man hurriedly called some of his friends.
"Hey, Old Man Jennings! You said before that you have a grandson who is about the same age as my granddaughter, right, He hasn't found a girlfriend yet, right?"
The other end of the phone said: "What's the matter, Mr. Hades? didn't you look down on my grandson before?"
"Well, I've come to see the potential in your grandson. He's a remarkable young man in Andorra. Just as you appreciate my granddaughter, I too am quite impressed with your grandson. Can we arrange a meeting for them?"
After a brief conversation, the old man was elated, "Great, that's settled."
The appointment was made, and the old man was very happy.
But come to think of it, if the match wasn't right, he'd have to find a few more candidates.
In a short time, the old man arranged several meetings for Sophie with suitable suitors.
While these men might not be as wealthy as Hurley, they were certainly more commendable than his grandson.
The old man's previous fondness for Hurley had now turned into dissatisfaction.
Hurley noticed that Sophie was driving away and he decided to follow her. He watched as she drove back to the original suburbs and then turned onto a certain road.
Hurley started to follow her, but was stopped by a security guard.
"This is a private area. No outsiders have access to this area," the guard informed him.
"Really? But my friend just entered," Hurley replied.
The guard's eyes went wide with incredulity. "Miss Hades just walked in on her own. Do you really have the audacity to claim that you are her boyfriend?"
"If it is true that she is your girlfriend, why don't you have a phone call with her? If she is willing to let you in, then I will let you in."
Hurley fell silent as he picked up his cell phone to make a call to Sophie.
He called Sophie now, but there was no answer.
After a couple of attempts, Hurley had no choice but to give up trying to reach her.
When the security guards saw that he didn't dare to make a call, they knew that it was someone who was pretending to be the boyfriend of Ms. Hades.
"Leave now or I'll call the police!" the guard threatened.
With that, Hurley had no choice but to leave. He drove outside to the parking lot and lit a cigarette.
Hurley only smokes cigarettes when he is in a bad mood or when he is upset. He had believed that a relationship with Sophie was a real possibility for him.
But now everything seemed to fall apart.
The old man's attitude toward himself has also changed dramatically.
Could Sophie have said something unpleasant to her grandfather?
The cigarette became shorter and shorter as time passed, Hurley was so absorbed in things that he didn't notice that his cigarette was now burning between his fingers.
It wasn't until the burning end of the cigarette touched Hurley's skin that Hurley suddenly came to his senses.
He quickly extinguished the cigarette. After he had extinguished the cigarette and tossed the butt in the trash, Hurley got in his car and drove back to the hospital.
He still had other options, and there was Damon to consider!
At the hospital, Damon looked happily at Jake and Anabel.
He couldn't help but tell Jake about his escapades of the past two days -- about how he had made the big bad guy unrecognizable so that his grandfather wouldn't have to see the big bad guy's face.
For dramatic effect, Damon even laid on his back to demonstrate.
Jake listened very carefully and forgot to tell Damon that some of the words he used were not meant to be used that way.
"I'm getting claustrophobic here, Jake. You came just in time. You can take my place lying down. I need to get out," Damon said.
Damon had to find their mother; otherwise, she'd surely figure out his plan.
"All right," Jake agreed.
Damon quickly changed clothes with Jake. Then Jake lay down on the bed and pretended to be Damon while Damon left the room.
Shortly after Damon left, Anabel went to the bathroom.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door of the hospital room.
Jake panicked. Could it be Grandpa?
Jake, remembering Damon's stories about their grandfather, hoped he'd finally met him. When the door opened, Jake's nervousness increased. His palms were sweaty.
"Master..." Jake started to say, but stopped when he saw who entered.
He quickly buried himself in the blanket. Jake had never been so nervous and shivered in the blanket.
It's not Grandpa, it's Daddy!
Hurley had already walked in with lots of food and toys in his hands.
He had done some research on the Internet and knew that kids like Damon were in love with Bumblebee from the Transformers and various cool Gundam figures.
After putting down his presents, Hurley looked at the kid on the bed. "Damon, why are you hiding under the covers? Aren't you feeling hot?"
"N-no... I'm fine," came the muffled voice from under the covers.
In fact, Jake was sweating profusely. Why had his father suddenly appeared? What was he going to do?
Besides, his sister is still inside in the bathroom, and she doesn't know Daddy's coming. If she suddenly came out of the bathroom, she'd surely blow their cover!
