The man on the ground struggled and tried to grab Hurley by the leg, but Hurley kicked the man away from him.
The man got to his feet in anger... "Who the hell are you to commit an assault in a public place, I am going to call the police!"
Hurley appeared unconcerned, "There are countless surveillance cameras in the mall. Let's see who the police are going to catch - you or me?"
The man could sense that the aura of this person was different. He was in the business clothes, and he could tell at a glance that the clothes that the man was wearing were out of the ordinary.
Apart from the fact that this brand costs at least six figures per piece, it's obvious that this shirt alone should be around five thousand dollars, and the outer jacket and suit should be even more, at least in the hundred thousands.
"I... I was just telling the truth. I'm not the only one who says it like that. Sophie already has a reputation for being that kind of person!"
The man was still trying to have a tough conversation, even though his mouth was swollen from Hurley's kick.
"I am going to call the police, I am definitely going to call the police!" The man pulled out his cell phone and was ready to dial the emergency number.
At that moment, Sophie's voice came from behind him. "Hurley, what are you doing?"
The others widened their eyes as they heard the words coming from Sophie's mouth.
Hurley... Hurley Walton?
That guy is Hurley Walton? How could anyone in the business world not have heard of Hurley Walton? He was a famous business tycoon, and he was not the kind of person they could afford to insult.
Not to mention that if they offended him, they wouldn't even have a chance to meet him.
But now it seemed like they were insulting Hurley...
The others started to tremble, even the one who had been the happiest just a moment ago was trembling so much that his legs were about to give out.
"Are you... Mr. Walton?" There was a change in the man's tone when he spoke.
Hurley sneered at him with cold eyes. "Weren't you going to call the police on me?"
He shook his head frantically. "I am not going to call the police, this is all my fault!"
"Do you have any idea what to do?"
"Yes, yes."
As Sophie approached, the man dropped to his knees in front of her with a thud, and his voice was loud enough to make the others around him turn their heads.
"Ms. Hades, I was wrong. I shouldn't have been talking behind your back and spreading rumors about you. I deserve to be slapped in the face for my loose tongue!"
Having said that, the man started to slap his own face, the sound echoing loudly because he was afraid that Sophie and Hurley would not be satisfied with a simple slap.
He dared to speak so boldly because others had already talked about Sophie before, but the Hades family didn't care about that. Sophie allowed the people outside to say whatever they wanted about her and seemed completely indifferent to such things.
"Please, Ms. Hades, give me a chance to apologize!"
Sophie allowed him to continue to beat himself up and then she looked at Hurley.
Hurley was sharp, his expression cold and angry.
Was Hurley acting because someone was spreading rumors about her?
She had heard too many of those things in her life and had become numb to them. Rumors were not things that could be put to rest just by word of mouth. Even if Sophie said again that she had never done anything like that, people still wouldn't believe her.
With just a few so-called photos, they were able to fabricate anything they wanted.
Later on, Sophie also understood that these people were only going to believe what they wanted to believe.
And even later on, no matter what others said, Sophie never responded to them because she did not want to waste her time.
She had heard about what happened to Damon. Hurley really would do anything for her.
Her heart trembled a little as if there was a warm current running through it.
Hurley...
Sophie pursed her lips tightly together until the man started to speak again. "Ms. Hades, please forgive me!"
It was only then that Sophie's reaction was to notice the visible swelling on his face.
"All right, you can go."
"Yes! Thank you, Ms. Hades!" The man quickly got up and walked away.
The others, who had just been in the middle of a conversation with him, didn't have the heart to stay and ran away even faster than rabbits.
"Is forgiving them like that enough?" Hurley asked because he felt that the punishment was a little too light.
Sophie replied, "What else? There are a lot of people who do a lot of gossiping behind my back. If I were to get angry at them all, I'd probably die from anger."
"After all, you are supposed to live for yourself. You will live a happier and more comfortable life if you ignore outside voices. Why make yourself unhappy?"
Hurley looked at Sophie. He found her to be very cheerful and outgoing.
His Adam's apple bobbed. "So all those rumored to come from outside are wrong, right?"
Before, Hurley had always been of the opinion that Sophie's character was not very good, that she had a bad temper.
But after he had gotten to know her better, he realized that Sophie wasn't like that at all.
It wasn't until they arrived in Andorra that he fully understood how all the things that Sophie had never done had been twisted by the outside world!
He realized that it was all fake; it was just jealousy of those who couldn't achieve what she had achieved, envying someone better than her.
Destroying a girl's reputation was sometimes so easy. Those who spread false rumors deserved death!
"It depends on what kind of rumors you've been hearing," Sophie had no intention of discussing the matter further. "Are you still going grocery shopping or not? Are you coming?"
"Coming, coming, coming," Hurley quickly caught up.
They bought many things, and when Sophie was about to carry them, Hurley took them. "I'll get it for you."
Hurley refused Sophie's help, even though his hands were almost too full to carry.
Hurley arrived at his house with Sophie in tow.
"Is this your new house?" Sophie looked around.
"Yes."
Hadn't Hurley just gotten there? Why was it that he already had a place to live here?
The house here was quite nice, newly refurbished, and obviously unoccupied. If Hurley had wanted to buy it, the price wouldn't have been that low.
"Aren't you just going to stay here for a couple of days?" Sophie asked.
"It will be convenient for the future."
Sophie hasn't had anything to say at that moment.
So Hurley wanted a future...
As Hurley entered the mansion, he went straight to the kitchen and took out all the food they recently purchased.
They had bought a lot of food and Hurley was a little bit worried; he didn't know how to cook at all.
His skills were below average, and he was afraid that he might cause an explosion in the kitchen.
Outside, Sophie left Hurley to his own devices. She was tired and decided to lie down on the sofa for a little while to rest.
She hadn't had a lot of rest in the last few days, and now her eyes were barely open.
Leaning against the sofa, she fell asleep.
In the kitchen, Hurley looked through the glass window and saw Sophie. Was she asleep? He noticed that her complexion didn't look too good; she probably hadn't had a good night's rest.
Did he keep her from getting some sleep?
Hurley decided to make a big meal as a reward for Sophie, so he searched for recipes online and started chopping vegetables.
But the knife didn't seem to obey him, and the chopped vegetables didn't look very appetizing at all.
Frowning at his masterpiece, Hurley decided that he would just have to go with it.
But when he heated up the oil, he didn't know how hot he wanted it to be. When he added the vegetables, the flames shot up, and before he could go online to find out what to do, he poured water into the pan, making the fire even worse.
Chaos ensued in the kitchen.
