"Sophie, my grandfather is always telling me that I should learn well from you. When I see my grandfather later on, Sophie, please help me to say good words to him."
"Don't worry," Sophie promised.
"Sophie, where is Damon?"
At the mention of Jake, Sophie's lips curled slightly. "He is out playing with friends."
For some reason, Miko felt a shiver run down his spine. He turned around to look, but did not see anything.
As they chatted, the two went into a private room.
Not far away, Hurley watched the scene coldly, his eyes so icy they could freeze.
"Mr. Walton, this way, please," said someone trying to arrange a meeting with Hurley.
Hurley's gaze held on the person for a long time before he finally pulled it away. The person could only wait.
Following Hurley's gaze, what was he looking at?
Hurley's face darkened as he pulled his gaze away and the man quickly led the way, taking Hurley to the private room.
Hurley's private room was right next to Sophie's private room.
Even though there was a table full of eating utensils, Hurley didn't want to touch them. If he didn't move, no one else would dare to do so.
As they read the situation, they noticed that Mr. Walton seemed to be in a very bad mood.
The others who had invited Hurley to join them raised their glasses and said, "Thank you, Mr. Walton, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to meet with us. Here's to Mr. Walton."
Hurley raised his glass, clinked it, and downed it in one gulp.
When the other party saw him being so direct, they quickly refilled Hurley's glass.
Hurley was in no mood for business now; all he could think about was Sophie and this person being together on the walk.
All he could see was the man in the suit who was still able to make Sophie smile.
It was then that Hurley realized that he did not seem to know anything about Sophie. He didn't know about Sophie's past, about her family, about what she had experienced before, or what she was living in Andorra.
"Mr. Walton, come and have a drink," these people would call out to Hurley, and in his confused state, Hurley would accept without discrimination.
It was not long before Hurley had consumed a fair amount of alcohol. His stomach, which had been uncomfortable for the past few days, now felt even worse. It burned as if something inside him was on fire.
"Mr. Walton, you really do hold your liquor well. Regarding the cooperation, we wonder if you have any suggestions for us. We're always willing to make adjustments," they thought that getting Hurley drunk would make it easier to negotiate a better deal.
But Hurley's tolerance for alcohol was not that of a normal person. He was becoming more and more sober, even more sober now.
"I have reviewed the project proposal you sent. Overall, it's acceptable. For the remaining details, I'll have my secretary contact you. As far as the profit share is concerned, the Walton Group will take an additional twenty percentage points on top of the existing basis. If you don't agree, you can leave now," he said unexpectedly, causing them to exchange glances.
"Since Mr. Walton has spoken, of course we're willing to comply. We'll do as Mr. Walton says."
"For the remaining matters, you can discuss them with my secretary."
"All right, Mr. Walton, you're very straightforward." They agreed and went on to talk about other things.
But Hurley remained silent. After a while he got up. "I'm going out for a smoke."
"Mr. Walton, you can smoke here, too. We don't mind."
Ignoring their words, Hurley walked straight out into the hallway.
Next to him was Sophie's private room.
He stared at the door, which was tightly closed, and wondered what Sophie and the person in there were talking about.
What is the relationship between this man and Sophie? Are they close?
He didn't know when it had started, but every time he saw Sophie with another man, it made him feel extremely uncomfortable. It was the first time a woman had ever been a source of emotion for him.
He lit one cigarette after the other, and in the ashtray above the trash can there were several cigarette butts piled up. He continued to stare at the Door, wishing he could break through it, but he never got closer.
It wasn't until the people in his private room began to think it was odd that Mr. Walton hadn't come back yet. When they came out to check it out, they saw Hurley over the other side, smoking a cigarette.
Yes, he was smoking, but why was Mr. Walton smoking so heavily?
"Mr. Walton, are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Hurley extinguished the cigarette in his hand and walked back to his private room.
He didn't pay attention to what the people said after that.
"Do you know the Hades family well?" Hurley asked suddenly.
The others were stunned and wondered why Mr. Walton was asking about the Hades family all of a sudden.
"The Hades family is a prominent family in Andorra. They've been involved in international development for a very long time. The three heirs of the Hades family are all distinguished individuals with their own successful careers. They are like phoenixes among people, flourishing in their respective fields." "However, it appears that all three of them have been out of the country for the past few days."
As soon as the three brothers of the Hades family were mentioned, these people couldn't stop talking about them.
But that wasn't what Hurley wanted to know. "What about Sophie Hades? Is she in Andorra? Does she have any suitors?"
"Ms. Hades? They say she came back with a child. She became a mother before getting married, and she seems to be pretty average. Of course, there are a lot of suitors for her, after all, she is so beautiful. But it seems that Ms. Hades doesn't like any of them. There have been a lot of rumors about her in the outside world, but as far as I can see, none of them are true," he said.
Hurley looked at the person speaking. "What do you mean?"
"Well, aside from the fact that the Hades family is a prominent one, Mrs. Hades herself has excellent qualities and is beautiful. How could she be interested in those people? I once saw Mrs. Hades reject someone in a bar, and the next day, there were rumors that she had spent the night with that person," he said.
"But what I saw clearly was that Ms. Hades was pushing that person away. He was angry, and then he started to spread rumors about her."
Hurley narrowed his eyes. These people were just looking at Sophie as an easy target.
"So, has she had a boyfriend in the last few years?" Hurley inquired further.
"We're not really sure," they admitted, lacking the ability to get close to Sophie.
"There is a man in a suit, about as tall as she is, who seems to be pretty close to Sophie. Do you know him?" Hurley gestured.
Who could that be? Hurley's description could apply to thousands, if not millions, of men in Andorra.
The people shook their heads. Hurley's questions about Sophie were obvious to everyone else.
"If you want to know who that person is, Mr. Walton, then perhaps I could ask the staff on your behalf?" the man suddenly suggested. They remembered that they had seen Hurley staring at someone's back for a while when they had gone upstairs.
"Is this person in this restaurant as well? It just so happens that I know the manager of this restaurant. If Mr. Walton would like to know about the situation in a certain private room, we can ask the waiters to check it out."
"No, thank you," Hurley declined. He didn't want to know.
But what on earth would Sophie have been talking about with this person? Were they alone? Did they have other plans after dinner?
If she hadn't been around the last few days, was someone else keeping her company?
Sophie hadn't answered his messages either. The more Hurley thought about it, the more uneasy he felt.
"Wait! There's someone in the adjoining private room who doesn't seem to be a good person. Let's have the staff check her out," Hurley suddenly exclaimed.
