"Mommy!" Jake and Anabel walked in from outside, with Damon leading the way. They were obviously confused when they saw the three people in the house.
"Jake, Anabel, these three are your uncles. This is your first uncle, Uncle Pietro. This is your second uncle, Uncle Pierre, and this is your third uncle, Uncle Preston."
Jake called out to each of them obediently, while Anabel couldn't make a sound but opened her mouth anyway.
"This..." Preston looked at the children, then at Sophie, and finally at Damon who was standing next to him.
"Is that really not a clone? How else would they be able to look so much like Damon?"
At first, they had been very skeptical about what the old master had said, and they doubted that there could be an exact replica of a human being in the world. Even if they resembled each other, how could they be so much alike?
Now they finally understood, and if they were to stand apart from each other, they might not be able to recognize each other.
However, when they looked at the little girl, she was a lot more well-behaved than their little demon, Damon.
"Hello uncles, nice to meet you, I am Jake and this is my little sister Anabel."
"Does Anabel not like her uncles? Your Uncle Preston has brought some presents for you." Preston picked up the little girl.
He preferred girls to boys, just as he did with his own daughter.
Even though it was the first time the three uncles had met her, they couldn't help but like her.
Preston took out some candy to win her over. Assuming that Anabel wasn't talking because she didn't like them, he tried to bribe her.
Anabel shook her head and opened her mouth as if to say no.
But she couldn't make a sound and was on the verge of crying.
"It's not that she doesn't like you, she likes you very much. It's just that for some reason Anabel has never been able to speak since she was a child," Sophie explained.
"She can't speak?"
The three uncles were surprised. Now they felt even more sorry for her.
Preston blamed Hurley directly. "It must be that man's problem. The way he raised that child, our little treasures must have been in a lot of pain."
Jake said, "Uncle Preston, we haven't suffered from Daddy."
Their father had been very good to them from a very young age, giving them the best environment and living conditions.
Preston found it hard to believe, "Look, he had even raised the children to be confused, and you're even helping that rascal talk!"
"Preston, I've already told you that Hurley is not that kind of person, and he treats both children quite well," Sophie said.
"Yes, Uncle. My father is really good to us," Jake backed Sophie's words.
Pierre led Jake over as well. "Your name is Jake, right? Come over here and let Uncle have a good look at you."
Even though the oldest brother didn't talk much, his gaze was warm.
At first, they had thought that there was only one little nephew, Damon, but now they had discovered that there were two other children.
In addition, they were now able to tell the difference between Damon and Jake, despite their differences. Jake's way of speaking was extraordinary, with so much poise at such a young age, and his personality was completely different from Damon's.
Pierre and Preston both liked to chat with Jake, and Sophie was also happy seeing such a scene.
After the brothers get to know the other two of Sophie's children, they have dinner together for the evening. Sophie has asked someone to bring a lot of fresh ingredients so she can prepare a delicious meal for them.
"Go and rest, Sophie. We can help you with the cooking." Preston said as he shoved Sophie out of the kitchen. "Yes, we will be in charge of cooking tonight. The burning oil can splash everywhere, and it won't be good for your skin. Our little sister's hands and face should be smooth and tender."
"Go and rest now, my little sister. Let your brothers do these things,' Pierre also said.
So all Sophie could do was watch the three big men in the aprons as they bustled around in the kitchen.
If the kitchen weren't that large, they probably wouldn't be able to get in.
It was great to have three brothers who knew how to cook. At least they wouldn't have to go hungry.
Who knows, maybe one of them will bring a sister-in-law in the future and bring her good luck!
The three men cooked quickly, and soon a full table was set.
Sophie looked at the rich food and thought of something. She quietly picked up a box and quietly packed up some of the food while the brothers were busy with it.
As to why she was doing it so quietly, the brothers wouldn't approve of it if they saw it when they were done with it.
Sophie packed two boxes, and soon the brothers were done with their cooking and came out, Sophie was done packing as well.
"Sophie, tell the children to come and eat with us." Pietro brought out the last plate.
Sophie called for the three children to go and wash their hands, and when they came back, all three of the uncles had come out of the kitchen.
However, Sophie did not sit down and she greeted them. "Sit down, don't be rude to your uncles."
Sophie smiled awkwardly, "My dear brothers, I'm afraid I can't have dinner with you, I have to go out. The next time I come, I will definitely have dinner with you."
"Sophie!"
It was only then that they noticed that there seemed to be a little bit missing from each of the dishes on the table.
"Did Sophie eat that, or did she take what she wanted to eat?" Preston was not sure.
Pietro said nothing. "Don't mind her. Eat up!"
"Jake and Anabel, eat more." Under the care of the three uncles, the children had a very full dinner that night.
Meanwhile, Sophie took the food and went to the Walton Group.
Now, half of the lights in the company's building were still on, and there were quite a few people working overtime.
But the benefits at the Walton Group were excellent: if you worked overtime today, the time you missed would be made up in the future, and you would still get paid overtime, which could be described as very humane.
Sophie looked up and saw the lights on the top floor.
She couldn't see anything at all, only that the lights on the top floor were still on.
She was not sure if Hurley was still in the company or not, she was just out for a try.
Sophie entered the company and took the elevator directly to the top floor.
The office lights on the top floor were all on and Sophie walked into Hurley's office and saw a man standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows.
His figure was thin, and there was a sense of loneliness about him.
The stars on his fingertips flickered, and he was like the only bright color in the night.
Sophie suddenly felt like a teenager sneaking behind her parents to meet her secret lover.
Sophie pushed the door open. "Mr. Walton, it's late. What are you looking at?" she said.
When Hurley heard the familiar voice, he turned around abruptly, not daring to believe the person who was standing in front of him.
"Sophie?" Hurley walked over to her quickly. "How did you get here?"
Sophie's arrival was something Hurley had never been expecting.
"How many cigarettes did you smoke?" Sophie looked at the smoke between Hurley's fingers. "Didn't you tell me last time that if I didn't like it, you wouldn't smoke anymore?"
Hurley quickly pinched it off. "I didn't smoke."
"Did you light it and take a whiff?"
"So clever."
"You're lying!"
"I'm telling the truth! You don't believe me? You can see it for yourself. I just lit one, and the ashtray is still empty."
Hurley quickly showed the ashtray to Sophie, proving that he really hadn't smoked.
"Okay, okay, I'll believe you just this once." Sophie said as she came in and put the things she had brought on the desk aside, "Have you eaten yet?"
Hurley shook his head. He had too much work to do and not enough time to eat. Chris had brought him some food, but Hurley had no appetite.
"Then let's eat together." Sophie was invited. She hadn't eaten either.
