"It's only natural! There are countless men out there!"
Hurley, even though he knew that Sophie was deliberately trying to push his buttons, still felt jealous.
Holding Sophie's wrist, Hurley guided her hand to his abs. "You didn't feel my muscles; how can you say they're not defined enough?"
For a while, Sophie only felt that the palm of her hand was hot, but when her palm touched his abs, she could feel the hard pieces of the muscles that Hurley was working on his body.
"How do they feel? Are they well defined?" Hurley asked confidently. Hurley had always been very confident in his physique. He worked out regularly and got up every morning to run, slowly, but he found time to work out.
Sophie had the feeling that her hands were no longer her own and beads of sweat were about to break out in them.
"Okay, okay, you are in great shape. Now hurry up and get dressed. "Sophie insisted.
This is a serious place and they should be talking about serious things.
And despite the playful banter of the evening, Hurley's heart swelled with happiness.
Being with Sophie made him feel joyful and mischievous, unable to resist teasing her. Seeing her blush and hearing her heart race gave him a sense of satisfaction he'd never felt before.
After dressing, Hurley transformed from a playful rogue into a calm and attractive man.
"Do you still have a lot of work left to do?" Sophie asked.
"A little more," Hurley replied.
"Then you can do it. I'm going to sit here while you work," Sophie said as she sat down in front of Hurley.
She casually picked up a book that was on the table and started to leaf through it. The books were all in English and had to do with finance and economics. Sophie understood the complex terminology surprisingly well.
Hurley, on the other hand, took care of the official business.
The office was brightly lit and Sophie was looking at the book and reading it with a very serious look on her face.
As Hurley worked, he couldn't help but look up at Sophie from time to time. Her focused expression captivated him, filling him with a sense of accomplishment that made it difficult for him to concentrate on his work.
Probably feeling Hurley's gaze, Sophie raised his head and met Hurley's gaze.
"What are you looking at?" she asked.
"I was looking at you," Hurley admitted frankly.
"Are you done looking?"
"No. Are you going to stay with me no matter how long I have to work?" asked Hurley.
"I'll be out of here by ten," Sophie replied, knowing that her brothers were at home and would not be pleased if she stayed out all night.
"I'll drive you home later then. Is that okay?" Hurley asked cautiously.
He was afraid that Sophie would say no. He did not have any other motives, he just wanted to make sure that Sophie was safe.
"My brothers are here with me, and they don't like you very much. If they find out that you brought me home, you're going to be in trouble," Sophie warned him.
"I'll just drop you off downstairs then," Hurley suggested.
"Okay, whatever you say. "
Hurley was exhilarated, realizing how easily his emotions were swayed by Sophie.
However, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was something wrong with Sophie's behavior.
Hurley was lost in thought. Sophie had hugged him at the café without saying a word, agreed to have dinner with him, and now had even accepted his offer to drive her home.
Does this mean that Sophie has fallen for him as well?
Hurley was happy about this. If he could finish his loads quickly, he could spend more time with Sophie.
The two of them were doing their own thing, and the air was quiet, except for the sound of paper being shuffled around.
The scene remained like this until the clock showed that it was almost ten o'clock.
Hurley stopped working. "It's ten o'clock, I'm sending you back now," he announced.
"Have you finished your work?" Sophie asked, looking up from her book.
"Not yet," Hurley admitted.
"So, after you drop me off, you're coming back to work?" Sophie asked, worried about his well-being. "Aren't you tired? It's a long drive to my place and you might not be back until midnight."
"Sophie, are you worried about me?" Hurley asked, a smile forming on his lips.
"Who's worried about you? I'm just surprised. Some people treat the company like their own and neglect their health," Sophie remarked, hinting at her concern for Hurley.
Hurley's monthly salary wasn't particularly high, but he carried the weight of the entire company on his shoulders, which of course came with additional responsibilities.
Despite Sophie's rebuke, he remained silent.
"A human being only has one body, so what is the point of making so much money if you don't take care of yourself?" she asked. Sophie asked.
"I know," Hurley replied.
"Do you understand?" Sophie asked again.
"I understand," Hurley replied obediently. He seemed almost childlike in his compliance, a stark contrast to his usual assertive demeanor.
If anyone had witnessed this exchange, they would have been shocked.
During business hours, Hurley was a formidable force, always in control of conversations and often leaving others struggling to get a word in edgewise. His aggressive approach often left little room for others to think or react.
But now, in Sophie's presence, he seemed meek and almost vulnerable.
"Do you know what to do?" Sophie continued.
Hurley nodded, but the corners of his mouth involuntarily curled into a smile. "I know."
He was now completely sure that Sophie cared about him!
"If you know, then just do it," Sophie urged.
"After I drop you off, I'll go home to rest and return to the office in the morning," Hurley explained.
Sophie nodded in satisfaction. It's good that he knows what to do!
Hurley took his coat, turned off the light, and went downstairs with Sophie.
When he went downstairs, he saw that the lights in the office building were still on.
"Wait a minute. After saying this to Sophie, Hurley stepped aside and called Chris.
He instructed Chris to tell the employees to leave their work for the next day as it was being pushed back one day. He also said that those who worked overtime after nine o'clock that night would receive double their monthly bonus.
Chris quickly broke the news to the delight of the employees. The prospect of a double bonus made their overtime efforts worthwhile, and they were grateful to Hurley for his thoughtful gesture.
"Long live Mr. Walton! He's been more considerate lately!" The employees cheered.
After the call, Hurley's driver also arrived at the door.
Hurley opened the door and asked Sophie to go up first, Sophie got into the car and Hurley soon came up and sat next to Sophie.
Hurley gave the address of Sophie's house and the car drove away.
If it hadn't been for Sophie's family and her brothers, Hurley would have thought about asking her to move in with him.
Once in the car, Hurley started the conversation. "About what you said before, are you free for dinner tomorrow?"
"I'm not sure," Sophie replied, unsure of her plans for the next day.
"I went to the hospital today and saw your wife," Sophie reported.
"She's not my sister anymore," Hurley quickly corrected. "And there's really nothing between her and me..."
"No need to explain, I understand," Sophie interrupted, trying to clear up any possible misunderstandings.
After a moment of silence, Sophie started to speak again. "I didn't think that the name Cersei was right for her, so I gave her a new one."
She's not Cersei herself, so she doesn't need to be called that all the time.
