"What did you call her?" Hurley inquired.
"Solana Hades," Sophie replied.
Hurley looked surprised, his gaze filled with a mixture of emotions - confusion, excitement, and perhaps a hint of approval for Sophie's choice.
Seeing that Hurley didn't speak for a long time, Sophie felt that her choice of name was bad. If not, why was he silent?
"What's wrong? Doesn't it sound good?"
"No, it's just... what's wrong with the name?" Hurley asked, his voice tinged with genuine curiosity, especially since her name now followed Sophie's last name.
Sophie said, "I chose it because I believe she can have a better future. Leave her to me; I'll see that she gets psychological counseling and medical treatment for her facial wounds. I want her to become a normal, happy girl.
Sophie had spoken with the young woman yesterday and found her to be basically good-hearted. Although she had been hypnotized and brainwashed, she was not inherently evil, and she resisted hurting others. Her resistance to harming others was evident when she chose to drink pesticides as a desperate means of escaping her situation.
Understanding the depth of her inner goodness made Sophie determined to help her. She didn't deserve what had happened to her, and she wanted to see Solana heal.
Sophie envisioned a time when the girl would recover and regain her strength. When she did, Sophie would be more than willing to teach her the skills she needed to take control of her life and live it on her own terms.
Even though Sophie and the young woman were strangers, Sophie felt compelled to help. If she had the means to save someone from a life of suffering, Sophie would not hesitate to act.
Hurley was taken aback. He hadn't expected Sophie to be willing to heal them.
Originally, he had assumed that Sophie's willingness to help was merely a matter of saving face, knowing that she was his ex-wife and possibly feeling jealous or resentful. But unexpectedly, Sophie was not only willing to help her, but also willing to teach her how to live for herself.
Hurley couldn't hold back any longer and hugged Sophie tightly.
Who said that Sophie didn't like him, Sophie obviously loved him dearly, so he would make such a big concession.
"Hey, Hurley?" Sophie was surprised by the sudden hug. Was there something wrong with what she said? Or had Hurley lost his mind?
"Thank you, Sophie," Hurley whispered, his voice deep and comforting.
The sultry night made Hurley's voice sound like rich, aged wine, warm and comforting. With no barriers like cell phones between them, his voice seemed to caress Sophie's ears, his warm breath tickling her.
Sophie's heart skipped a beat. "Thank you... for what?"
What she was doing had nothing to do with Hurley.
"If you're worried, just leave her to me. I'll arrange for her to go to Andorra; the climate and pace there are perfect for her recovery."
Sophie hoped that by sending her to Andorra, she would be able to ensure the safety of the young woman.
Whoever brainwashed her and sent her to Hurley would have no chance to threaten her there.
Sophie has yet to find out who is behind the scenes, what their intentions are, and how they could have done this.
"I'm relieved. "Hurley said, now knowing Sophie's identity.
He knows that Night's base camp is in Andorra, and he knows that Sophie's lab is also in Andorra.
And after living in Andorra for a few days, he knew that it was a very beautiful place, and perhaps even more suitable for Solana than Rustavi.... suitable for the warmth.
The little fool was called Cersei by Hurley in his heart. Now she has a new name, Solana Hades.
Soon the car stopped downstairs at Sophie's house.
It hadn't been a short trip, but Hurley felt that the time was passing very quickly.
Sophie got out of the car and said, "You should go back and rest early.
Hurley followed behind her and replied, "I will."
He watched Sophie walk away. After taking a few steps, Sophie turned to find Hurley still rooted to the spot.
He was just standing there, watching her.
Noticing Sophie's pause, Hurley called out, "Good night.
"Good night," Sophie replied, giving him a wave before turning away. She resisted the urge to run back and give Hurley a hug one more time.
Sophie left quickly and then got into the elevator.
When she saw her flushed cheeks in the mirrored wall of the elevator, she couldn't help but rub them together.
With a long sigh of relief, it was just too impulsive to think that he was actually going to run over to Hurley's to deliver some food at this very moment.
It was almost midnight and she wondered if her brothers had gone to bed. If not, she would certainly be in for an interrogation.
Sophie arrived at the house and punched in the security code to open the door. The house was dark, and she let out a sigh of relief, assuming that her brothers had retired for the night. She wanted to wash up and get ready for bed.
But as soon as she turned on the light, she was startled to see that all three of her brothers were sitting on the sofa with their eyes glued to her.
Sophie was frightened to death. She put her hand to her chest to calm her heart! "Jeez! Why aren't you asleep?"
"We were waiting for you," Pietro said.
"Why? What are you waiting for?" Sophie asked.
"For your interrogation, of course," Preston's voice echoed. "Tell us the truth. Did you go to see that Hurley Walton guy?"
Sophie was silent. She felt she needed to explain herself to her brothers. "Guys, you all misunderstood things, and so did I. Hurley had nothing to do with what happened to me; it was set up by someone else."
"What did Hurley tell you?" Pietro said.
"I found out on my own," she replied.
The three brothers had an exchange of skeptical looks. They knew all too well how easy it was for Hurley to be fooled, especially Pietro.
Having dealt with Hurley in the past, he was fully aware of the cunning and deceitful nature of the man. Pietro couldn't understand how Sophie had been able to uncover the truth so easily when even he had had a hard time seeing through Hurley's schemes.
They also knew that when Hurley wanted to hide something, even serious crimes like murder or arson, he had the resources and the cunning to make sure it stayed hidden.
"Guys, what I'm telling you is true. You don't believe me, do you?" Sophie asked with a hint of disappointment in her voice.
The room fell silent, and the lack of response from the brothers spoke volumes. Sophie had an understanding of their skepticism; they had no faith in her.
Sophie took a deep breath and tried to explain herself once more, recounting the events surrounding her divorce from Hurley and the incidents that had occurred since.
"So that's the whole story," she concluded.
Preston replied, "Even if Hurley wasn't directly involved, the fact that he didn't even uncover the truth and you were framed by that bitch of a woman shows Hurley's incompetence. We can't trust him with your safety; he can't protect you."
Sophie replied in frustration, "Was I naive back then? I've learned my lesson. I don't need to be protected by anyone. I can take care of myself."
At this point, Pietro's voice broke the tension, "Sophie, if that's what you want, we're your brothers. There's no reason to stand in your way."
"Pietro! You really agree?" Preston was astonished.
He had expected their eldest brother to be the most resistant to the idea, but here he was, the first to give his approval.
