"Our family will always be behind you. If Hurley ever tries to hurt you, the Hades family will make sure that he pays for it, even if it means going up against the world to do it." Pietro promised Sophie.
In the Hades family, unity was paramount. While other families may bicker over inheritances or hurry into strategic marriages, the Hades family is far from it, valuing their unity and their women. In their wealthy family, daughters were held in high esteem, and no one was pressured to take over the family business.
With plenty of wealth, there was no need to worry about the day-to-day details of the business, a task that often fell to Pietro, as his younger brothers, Pierre and Preston, had little interest in running the business.
"Thank you, brother!" Sophie said, hugging each of them in turn.
"With Pietro's support, I'm on board too," Pierre chimed in.
"Thank you, Pierre," Sophie replied.
Preston, still a bit hesitant, added, "You two traitors! You two are too quick to change sides. I may not approve of Hurley as a brother-in-law, but Sophie, think of this: if you do decide to marry him again, it is better that I be the first to know.
"Preston, I think you are jumping to conclusions a little too quickly. Hurley and I are not the kind of thing you have in mind. I just wanted to set the record straight. I didn't want you to be prejudiced against him. As for what lies ahead for us, I really can't say," Sophie clarified. Marriage was the last thing on her mind.
"Whatever your plans are, just keep us in the loop," Pierre advised.
"I promise I won't do anything to worry you," Sophie assured her.
Sophie was truly touched by the love and support she received from the Hades family, and it filled the void of family affection that she had felt since she was a child. Her grandfather had always been kind to her, and her three brothers had showered her with love and care, making her feel like she was truly at home.
Jake and Anabel stayed at her place for one night, and Sophie remembered that Hurley had said that he was going to send the child to his grandmother's house.
Taking it upon herself, Sophie not only delivered the child to Grandma Walton but also brought along various supplements and gifts.
Sophie saw a very good-looking hairpin, although she was very young, but she felt that it was very suitable for her grandmother.
Sophie sent the child to the Walton family's ancestral home. Grandma Walton was overjoyed to see Sophie, even more so than seeing the child.
"Sophie! Come here," Grandma Walton beckoned, and Sophie sat down next to her.
"Hello, Grandma." Sophie greeted her.
"Let me have a good look at you. Have you lost weight? Did Hurley treat you well?"
"No, Grandma. Hurley has never mistreated me. I found a hairpin that I think would look nice on you. Would you like me to put it on for you?"
"Of course, I'd love to."
The older woman's gray hair complemented the pink hairpin beautifully.
"Sophie, please stay for dinner," Grandma Walton held Sophie's hand, reluctant to let go.
She's a good match for him, Grandma Walton thought. Despite her age, her intuition was sharp and she sensed a special bond between Sophie and her eldest grandson.
Sophie was a little hesitant, and the old lady said, "Think of it as keeping an old woman company. My son hasn't been back for several years, my grandson is busy too, and Jake and Anabel aren't always by my side, so I'm often alone. I don't even have anyone to talk to."
After listening to her, Sophie felt a pang of empathy. She knew firsthand the loneliness that comes with age and a busy family, and it is indeed very lonely to be alone.
Back in Andorra, she had spent time with her grandfather, but since moving to Rustavi, he too has been left alone.
While Hurley lived in Rustavi, he rarely stayed with his grandmother. He would visit occasionally, but most of the time she was on her own.
"All right, I'd like to spend more time with you, Grandma."
In the evening, Sophie and the old lady went for a walk in the garden. The old lady's steps were a little unsteady, but Sophie accompanied her every step of the way. After they returned, she admitted, "I'm old, and I'm not as strong as I used to be.
"Don't say that, Grandma. You're still strong, you can still walk around your garden. "
She smiled weakly, "My old bones should have given up long ago. If Night hadn't sent me medicine on a regular basis, I might have been gone a few years ago."
The old lady had also heard about the miracle doctor Night, but she didn't quite understand why she would send medicine to herself because she didn't know Night.
She had been seriously ill before, and once the doctors had given her only a month to live. She just hoped to see Hurley married as soon as possible before she went.
Desperate to see Hurley married soon, she had clung to life. When she heard about a miracle doctor who could examine her, her health began to slowly but steadily improve.
The old lady sighed, "If I have the chance to see Night one day, I will be sure to thank her in person.
Sophie, who is also Night, said nothing.
Sophie sensed the old lady's feelings and reassured her, "Don't worry, Grandma. Night is a good-hearted doctor. When Night sees that you are well now, he will be very, very happy.
The old lady went on sighing. "I'm so old, maybe I'll have to leave this world one day, and the one thing I can't be sure of is Hurley."
"Hurley's mother had left him to go to a foreign country when he was only a few months old. His father was also absent, prioritizing his company over his family, leaving Hurley without parental love in his early years. Hurley did not experience the love of his father and mother as a child, which also led to his reserved and aloof nature, which made him reserved and distant," she continued.
His personality is very different from Richard's. Richard has been living abroad with his father since he was a child, and even though the two brothers have seen less of each other, they still have a good relationship.
When Richard was involved in an accident, even more of the responsibility fell on Hurley's shoulders.
"My grandson is stubborn; once he makes up his mind, nothing can change it. He's not quick to form attachments, but when he does, he's unwavering in his commitment," Grandma Walton explained. "He's not usually one to get emotional, but I sense that with you, he's different. I have faith in him.
It was the old lady's hope that when her time came, Hurley would have someone by his side to give him the support he needed.
And she hoped that person would be Sophie.
"He can be brusque at times, seem callous and overly focused on his work, but he..."
Before she could finish, a voice from the doorway interrupted, "Grandma, why are you talking behind my back?"
Hurley walked in from the outside of the house with a blazer in his hand.
"When did you come in? Why didn't I hear you?" The old lady asked as she looked back at Hurley.
"It's because you're too busy to hear it, and who's to say I'm not looking at work or work right now?"
Hurley's gaze settled on Sophie who was standing next to his grandmother, his expression showing a depth of emotion.
