There had been subtle changes in Hurley's behavior ever since she announced her pregnancy. His once-warm eyes now looked calculating when he thought she wasn't watching.
That day, Cersei came to check her baby alone.
"Cersei, your babies are healthy. The due date is next month. You've been donating blood far too frequently, and I strongly advise you to stop. Otherwise, your own life could be in danger," Dr. Matthews warned with concern etched on her face.
Cersei left the hospital, contentedly stroking her nine-month belly. She took out her phone, snapped a photo of the prenatal report, and sent it to her Hurley: "Darling, these are our babies."
Three beautiful babies.
"Honey, could you pick me up? It would be wonderful if you could accompany me to these appointments like other husbands do."
"I miss you so much, Hurley."
Her messages remained unanswered.
The smile faded from Cersei's lips, her eyes dimming with disappointment.
From the moment she was diagnosed with pregnancy, Hurley's behavior had changed dramatically.
The once loving and attentive husband had become cold and distant. Sometimes, while lying in bed, she would hear him making phone calls in the middle of the night, speaking in a cruel tone she had never heard before.
Most disturbing were the blood donation requests.
First monthly, then weekly. When she asked why, Hurley simply said it was for charity, and that her rare blood type could help many people.
Being kindhearted, Cersei never questioned it. Until now, when the doctor's warning forced her to reconsider everything.
Why was Hurley so insistent on her blood donations? Why was he increasingly reluctant to accompany her to prenatal check-ups? And what about those mysterious midnight calls?
After much hesitation, she called Hurley.
It took a while before he answered, his impatient voice barking through the speaker. "What? Didn't I tell you not to call me?"
"Hurley, I just completed my maternity check-ups and am at the hospital entrance. Are you less busy? I..."
As she spoke, Cersei heard a female voice in the background. "Hurley, do you think I look good in this?"
Cersei's heart skipped a beat. He knew that it was Hurley's lover hidden in heart , Matilda Jacobson.
"You always look beautiful, sweetie," Hurley replied with a tenderness Cersei had never experienced.
His voice turned cold when addressing her: "I don't have time. I'll send the driver to get you. And don't forget, you need to decide about the divorce."
With that, he hung up, completely disregarding Cersei's feelings.
Soon after, a car pulled up in front of the hospital. "Mrs Walton, the boss asked me to pick you up."
Cersei got in, and the driver pulled away. After a while, she sensed something was wrong.
Why were they in such a remote area?
"Where are we going? This isn't the way home," Cersei asked, panic rising in her voice.
"Mr. Walton asked me to take you somewhere," the driver replied cryptically.
As he continued driving, Cersei felt her eyelid twitch with uncontrollable fear. Something terrible was about to happen.
She tried calling Hurley, but he never answered.
The driver stopped in front of an abandoned warehouse. Cersei refused to leave the car. "This isn't home, where have you brought me?"
She was dragged from the car by a group of men.
"Why are you here? Mr. Walton requested we bring you here," the driver said.
They forcefully grabbed her hand, placed a pen in it, and thrust a document before her, shouting: "Sign it!"
Cersei recognized it as divorce papers. Struggling, she said: "You're lying; Hurley hasn't signed yet. I won't sign this. I won't!"
"I need to call my husband. I don't believe you!" Cersei fought against signing. She still trusted Hurley.
The men laughed. "We'll call him for you, don't worry."
The call connected quickly. Before Cersei could speak, she heard a voice saying: "Hurley, the doctor says blood transfusions aren't working anymore. I need surgery immediately."
"I understand. I hope Cersei delivers soon. Your blood types match, and her umbilical cord could save you."
One of the men said: "Did you hear that? That's what Mr. Walton wants. We need that umbilical cord now!"
"Let's get started, boys!"
Cersei clutched her belly protectively. "No, don't touch my babies!"
However, she was no match for these men in terms of strength.
It hurts...it hurts so much...
Cersei bit her lip as they forcefully cut her flesh and dug in to take her babies out of her body. She could not do anything, and she couldn't protect her babies!
At that moment, there was a rumbling sound in the air, and the men's expressions changed drastically when they heard, "Go, someone is coming!"
They tossed lighters into prepared kindling, and flames immediately engulfed the warehouse.
With her remaining consciousness, Cersei could only watch helplessly as fire surrounded her.
It turned out that Hurley had tricked her into drawing blood for another woman and even got her pregnant to save that woman!
Hurley, why would you do this to me?
Through the haze, Cersei heard a voice: "Oh, my precious Cersei, grandfather is too late."
After the men left, they perfectly concealed the babies, and their leader called Matilda, "Miss, everything has been done according to your plan."
Matilda's eyes gleamed mercilessly: "Good. The divorce papers are signed. Make sure that fool is dead, then bring the babies to me."
"Yes, they're twins."
"Don't let Hurley find out about this, or I'll kill you!"
"No problem. Since they're twins, could we perhaps increase the price..." He stopped mid-sentence, looking up in terror at the figure before him.
He quickly hung up as the imposing figure extended a hand: "Give me the babies."
At the same time, Hurley also received a call from the driver, "What do you mean you didn't see her at the entrance?"
