A strange sense of connection washed over Hurley, and his remaining rationality was once again scorched. He had originally intended to push the person away, but his body refused to obey.
It felt as if they should have been together all along; this woman was originally supposed to belong to him.
Instinctively, Hurley held the person even tighter, leaving Sophie with no room to struggle.
In his arms, the intimacy between Hurley and the woman grew stronger.
This feeling was too familiar, just like that fool from the past.
"Mmm…" Rationality collapsed, and Hurley lowered his head.
"Who are you?" She hadn't expected someone in the room, and the man was strong; she couldn't break free.
"Don't touch me!"
Sophie's body trembled, and everything felt so familiar.
Memories from five years ago resurfaced: Hurley's kiss, his breath, his embrace. Everything she had tried to forget, her body remembered clearly.
Despite Hurley's dislike for her, he would never defy his grandmother's orders.
If he hated her face, he would turn off the lights.
So, for Sophie, darkness was even more favorable.
"Hurley... Mmm... Is it you?"
Sophie punched the man with all her might, but he just held her wrist.
Her resistance ultimately couldn't overcome him, and Sophie's consciousness gradually faded as she fainted.
While holding Sophie, Hurley whispered in her ear, "I'll take responsibility."
The second time Sophie woke up, she was tightly embraced, struggling to breathe.
As memories returned, she remembered being schemed against by Mr. Jordan yesterday and ended up in another room to hide, only to find another beast in that room.
A hint of murderous intent flashed in Sophie's eyes; men were all no good.
That man from last night had dared to take advantage of her vulnerability; today, she would make sure he couldn't harm anyone else.
As Sophie prepared to take action, she raised her eyes and saw a familiar face.
Hurley!
No wonder it felt so familiar last night; it was indeed Hurley!
Memories from five years ago and the humiliation from last night surged, removing any guilt she felt.
Today, she would ensure Hurley's line ended!
Just as she was about to make her move, she heard a low, hoarse voice from above her head.
The man grunted, "Miss Hades, are you planning something inconvenient first thing in the morning? Didn't last night satisfy you?"
Perhaps due to just waking up, Hurley's voice was very raspy.
He insinuated something and moved his leg.
