Betrayed from Birth – Alpha’s Unvalued Daughter - Chapter 5: Chapter 6

I get a mind link for an issue over at the border to the Silver Blade pack.
Two different warriors let me know that we have a rouge on our land that recently jumped the fence running from several other wolves.
They both reported that the wolf that trespassed was a fairly large black wolf and that when it phased back to its human form, turned out to be a girl.
Both were waiting on me to tell them what to do, as they said that the girl was arguing with the Alpha family and several warriors still on the Silver Blade side of the border.
I am acting Alpha as Alpha Cole Walker, and his family were out of town right now, so I was notified of the breach.
I told them to stay there and monitor what is happening and not to allow anyone else from the Silver Blade side of the border to enter our packlands.
I phased into my wolf and headed out with three more warriors, to see what in the hell was going on out there. It is 2 am for Goddess’s sake, and nothing like this has ever happened before.
People knew better than to try to trespass here at the Blood Walker pack.
We had an earned reputation, and although we are not as bloodthirsty as most of the more vicious rumors are, we do not allow rogues or potential problems onto our packlands.
We made excellent time getting out there, and one of the warriors at the border was telling me that he felt sorry for the young she-wolf as she was being threatened by Alpha Sullivan and that apparently she was his daughter.
I had heard that they were blessed with twins, but no one had ever seen the other twin.
It had been rumored that she had been killed in some kind of accident a few years back, but no one had ever seen her.
I am stunned, we have seen one daughter for the Alpha couple for Silver Blade repeatedly. I have seen myself how he and his Luna dote on her. She can do no wrong and they have spoiled her excessively.
How could they still have twin girls, if one of them had been reported to the Werewolf Council as having died years ago?
I speed up as I know we are two minutes out and send two of my men to back up the wolves on patrol on either side of me and took one of the men with me.
The group at the fence has no idea that they have been watched since our border was breached.
We make sure to keep away from the border and just watch from the tree line, in case there is a problem over there, before resuming their patrol.
I mindlinked them all to get changed into some shorts, as we may be approaching the group.
We all listened to the yelling, and I was surprised to see the beautiful young girl who was so angry at Alpha Sullivan.
Then I did a double take as I see their daughter still on the Silver Blade side of the border. I thought that the warrior told me that Alpha Sullivan’s daughter was who had crossed our border.
Before I can link him to tell me what he had heard them say again, I heard their argument kick back up. “I am ashamed to have such an ingrate as a daughter.
You will stop arguing right now and come back to Silver Blade before you are caught on their lands. I have already told you they will kill you. Be sensible and come back home.
I swear to you I won’t hurt you for the clear disrespect that you have shown us tonight. I won’t warn you again, you will listen to me, and do as I say” Alpha Sullivan said.
“Sorry dad,” the girl tells him in the most sarcastic way that she can. I cannot stop the smile that comes across my face.
She is a little spitfire and I love that I got to see that conceited and arrogant Alpha be so disrespected.
That alone in my opinion should allow her entry into our pack, as she and Alpha Walker have that in common. Neither of them like nor respects Alpha Sullivan, and frankly, I don’t either.
“Then I am going to Alpha command you to return. You cannot be found on their land.
Return now, or I will come over there and kill you where you stand” Alpha Sullivan said, and I cannot control the low growl that rips out of me.
For some reason, I am protective of that young girl, and I will not allow Alpha Sullivan or any of the people with him to harm her, not on our land.
The way he operates he would come over our border, kill her, then report us for killing her to the council. I have seen him work. He cannot be trusted at all, he is a deceitful man.
“Then come on over here and do it then dad. I will not be returning ever again if I can help it. You have hurt me enough for two lifetimes. How can you have two daughters, and yet hide one away?
Allow the whole pack to mistreat me, and then allow her” I motion to my sister who is standing there glaring at me not even trying to hide the hate in her eyes from anyone, “to do whatever in the hell she wants.
You have kept me from being able to leave our land or have any sort of freedom. Plus, I know in my heart that you and Reagan are behind this little plan to make Justin her chosen mate.
How could you hurt me like that? I have done nothing to any of you and yet I am treated as if I am something disgusting on the bottom of your shoe.
I refuse to come back there, and if death is what awaits me here, then I will indeed accept it. It is better than living in the Silver Blade pack.
You will either imprison me again, or kill me if I come back, and neither option is acceptable to me” the girl yells back at him and I suddenly catch a familiar scent in the air.
I give her a harder look and I am stunned, can it even be possible? After all this time? “Raven, you have embarrassed the family enough. Come back right this minute.
I cannot believe that you are willing to cause us to go through this kind of shame. What is wrong with you? You were a good daughter and listened well, you need to do that again.
I don’t know what has gotten you so upset, but we can work through it, together, but only if you return to your pack. We are the only ones who can keep you safe. Just listen to me.
I will protect you, just come back now before you are found. Once they know that you are here, they WILL kill you. They are not our allies and hate our pack.
They will take it out on you as they are totally unreasonable savages. We are your family. You will have nothing and no one if you continue to be stubborn and resistant.
I can help you, I am your mother, and I only want what is best for both of my daughters” Luna Sullivan calls out into the night.
I can hear her imploring tone, but anyone can tell if that girl is dumb enough to jump back over to the Silver Blade side of the border, that she won’t make it ten steps before she is killed.
“Mom, are you seriously trying to tell me in some kind of weird way, after 18-plus years, that you love me? Do you expect me to believe it? No birthday parties for me, only for my twin.
No freedom for me, just for my twin. Never allowed to leave the pack, go shopping, nothing at all for me, only for that w***e of a daughter that you are so stinking proud of.
I have already told you all to go. I can only hope that the Goddess gives you all that you deserve.
I would love to be around to see you get it, but if she decides to call me home and I get killed in front of you all by the Blood Walker pack, I hope the Goddess allows it to play in your mind seeing me torn apart after all your abuse.
I would rather a stranger do it than my family. Although you have let that slut attempt to kill me, and she never got into any trouble for it at all” the girl they called Raven said.
She sounded pretty frustrated, and I could tell by the conversation why she would be angry. “You stupid bh.
I hate you and I will be forever sorry that I didn’t catch up to you sooner and shove you harder, off of that bridge. I wish you were dead, I really do.
I hate the fact that we shared a womb for 5 months. I have hated you my whole life, you were a mistake to even exist. You are pretty smart to not come back over here to the Silver Blade.
Even if mom and dad did actually let you go, and not punish you. I wouldn’t. I would find a way to kill you before, or after, I become the Luna.
I can’t wait for the Blood Walker pack to show up here now. It won’t bother me a bit to see you be torn apart and mauled to death.
You are a waste of a she-wolf and even though you apparently do have a wolf, you are still worthless and pathetic.
Pining away waiting for your mate when you know that dad said the first to find their mate gets the pack. You are an it, thinking that he would even do it.
How is that mate search working out for you now? Is Justin your mate, or MY mate now?” Alpha Sullivan’s daughter calls out and then starts a taunting laugh.
Now this girl I recognize, she is that spoiled brat that belongs to Graham and Cassandra. All the pieces are falling into place now. I know why she came running to our pack to get away.
This poor girl has been put through the wringer tonight, I am amazed that she is still standing there and being confrontational when I can smell the fear coming off of her from here.
“As the firstborn child, the Luna position should have been mine, per Werewolf law. But you people just make stuff up and go with whatever you want to.
You still haven’t found your mate, but yet are completely fine being willing to steal mine away from me. You two are completely disgusting, and I wish you and Justin a long life together.
You can’t keep your legs together, and I hope Justin realizes it sooner than later. You conned and seduced him, now his life will never be what the Goddess planned for him.
All because you two wanted to become the next Alpha couple. You put money and position over the blessing of getting a mate. I hope that the Goddess gives you both exactly what you deserve in life.
Take him, after seeing you two having s*x together, especially after finding out that he was aware that I was his mate, I don’t want him anymore. Congratulations family, you finally broke me.
I can’t live in a pack seeing my sister rub it in my face every day that she took my mate away from me, and know that he literally signed up to do it.
I cannot take the pain that comes with feeling my mate has betrayed me. I won’t live with it, I would rather die.
So, excuse me while I go find someone that will help me with ending this horrible life. I hope all your actions towards me were worth this outcome” Raven told them and then turned to walk away.
There was a lot of yelling coming from the Alpha family, and from that young man who had apparently rejected her. I felt terrible for her and so I exited the shadows heading towards her.
I saw it the moment she noticed me, freezing in place, with terror evident on her face. The closer I got to her the more the scent increased. I know this scent.
I cannot believe what has happened and I gave a cold glance over to the border. I am going to deal with this, and I am going to let them all know that there is going to be punishment dealt over this.
I already know that Alpha Walker is going to be the vessel that the Goddess works from, and I can guarantee that the punishment will be swift.
“My name is Timothy DeSavage, I am the Beta of the Blood Walker pack.
We will provide sanctuary to this young woman, and I am absolutely positive that Alpha Walker will be getting back to you over this matter Alpha Sullivan.
Please make sure that no one else crosses the border. I can assure you that Raven will be the only one offered sanctuary here.
Anyone else will be killed instantly” I called out to them, my voice booming through the night as I know in my heart that we will be protecting this young woman with our lives.
“You can’t threaten me Beta” Alpha Sullivan called back to me mocking my title and giving me a smirk.
I returned the smirk with one I know for a fact has made grown men piss themselves in fear before, calling back to him, “Come on over Alpha Sullivan, and test that theory out.
I will take great pleasure in ending you personally.” I can see the fear cross Alpha Sullivan’s face.
I also know that when I offered Raven sanctuary, it lets the Alpha Couple know that I already know who Raven is.
I see the smile freeze on his face when he realizes that he IS going to be dealt with, and soon. Raven is motionless behind me, and I know that she is terrified.
She will never come to harm here at the Blood Walker pack. I made sure that I was standing between her and Alpha Sullivan, so he couldn’t glare at her, or see her anymore.
The warrior that had come here with me sensed that she is to be protected and came to my side to block her totally from their view. This interaction will probably be the last they have with Raven.
They really made a mistake today, and if it is the last thing that I do, I will help Alpha Cole make this right for Raven.
My comments to them let the rest of our men know that we are protecting her, and the other four warriors stepped out from where they were hiding.
Just seeing the six of us all standing there and waiting for someone to do something stupid, ended up de-escalating the situation quickly.
Even though there were only six of us standing there, we were hands down much stronger fighters than they are at Silver Blade. Plus, they didn’t know if there were more of us waiting in the wings.
They made the correct decision to decide to back away from the border, as in a one-on-one fight, they knew that they were going to be dying if they tried. “Good night, Alpha Sullivan.
I hope you have a good sleep” I called out to him in a mocking tone. I know he won’t be sleeping at all.
I won’t either, as I will have to wake up my Alpha in the middle of the night to alert him to what has occurred here tonight. I am just glad that her life will be improving from this moment on.
I turned to speak to her and saw her slipping into the tree line clearly trying to run away from us. I laughed as I hurried to catch her.
She will never be hurt on Blood Walker land, she just doesn’t know that yet. Chapter 7
Justin’s POV
I felt physically sick.
The second Raven fell out of the tree my wolf, Lorne has been going nuts. She smells like vanilla musk, and it is calling out to us.
I barely caught her scent when I first found her, and I had been enraptured. I had told a version of the truth to Reagan.
She would have been furious if I had told her that I was coming up to her room for a visit and was pulled away because the light scent of my mate was bewitching me.
I was outside Raven’s room for 20 minutes warring with Lorne because he still wants her. Reagan opened her door to check and see where I was. We cannot accept Raven as our mate.
There was only one clear choice for who we needed to be with and that was Reagan. Raven is the pariah of the pack. The pack has been picking on her in one way or another, her whole life.
There is no way that I could take over the pack as her as my mate. We all know that she is the firstborn, but we also all know that Reagan is the clear choice of the Alpha couple.
She will get the pack, she will get to be the Luna. That was set in motion a long time ago.
I don’t know why the two sisters are treated so differently, but it is Alpha approved, and that is all that mattered. There is no way to change it.
Reagan made a lot of sense when she came to me with her deal. I was soon to be Beta, but I did have some Alpha blood in me, so I am stronger that a regular Beta.
I was born to lead a pack, and now I am finally being given an opportunity to do just that. I was proud that Reagan thought of me as her perfect mate and wanted me to be her chosen mate.
I had to put some thought into it, as I really did want my true mate originally. I mean I could still be Beta of the pack and have my true mate.
But then I realized that I might not be Beta if I rejected her offer. Reagan is known to be vindictive and nasty when she doesn’t get her way.
I didn’t want to have to deal with that, plus she is pretty hot. I can’t say that I haven’t thought about it, with her dressing in those skimpy short skirts, trying to find her next boyfriend.
I remember her doing that in high school, bending over to try to entice the guys in high school. I did want her, but I wanted my mate more and didn’t want to upset her when I did find her.
What really drove Reagan’s offer home was the fact that she said that Raven had been interested in me, for quite a while.
When Reagan told me that Raven might be my true mate, my heart stuttered in fear. I am a strong wolf, but I didn’t want to have to fight a battle in the pack every single day.
I mean it would be us, against the whole pack. Reagan would never let us live a peaceful life.
I know that for a fact, plus accepting her as my mate would take my worth down to hers in the rest of the pack’s eyes. She is just not worthy enough to be my mate. She doesn’t even have a wolf.
At least that is what we all thought when I made the deal with Reagan. We just found out how wrong we were.
When she hit the ground and was knocked unconscious, her scent flooded the forest glade and I immediately stopped having s*x with Reagan.
Lorne was howling in my head begging me to go and help our mate. I felt terrible because I knew that she had passed out and fallen from the tree from the pain I caused her.
I never thought that Reagan and I were going to get caught before the announcement could be made.
Raven had no idea I was her mate, and until she did, she wouldn’t know that I was sleeping with Reagan. I was actually going to nicely reject her tomorrow, away from Reagan.
That way she wouldn’t be as hurt by it, but all that is out the window now.
She knows that her sister and I decided to be chosen mates, and even knew that I was aware that she was my mate and slept with Reagan anyway. I cannot imagine the pain that she is going through.
I know that I have broken her heart, and I am disgusted by my own behavior. I am overcome with guilt.
“You SHOULD be ashamed, she heard you tell Reagan that you were always interested in her and that you are getting the better sister out of the deal. How else do you expect Raven to feel?
I can feel anger coming from our mate, and she won’t even tell me her name, Justin. You have made my mate hate me. There is nothing wrong with this beautiful girl.
She is special, and you are an i***t” my wolf Lorne tells me, and he is right. I brush her hair gently away from her face with my fingertips and I see just how gorgeous she really is.
I have never been this close to her before, and she is just stunning, or it could be part of the mate bond driving me towards her.
Her eyes are closed, and she looks like she is sleeping peacefully, but I know that her landing knocked her out. This is all my fault, and shame washes over me again.
“I told you that our mate would be perfect for us. You didn’t listen to me and now look at where we are.
Our mate really hates us, and from what I am getting from her wolf, we will never be allowed to be with our mate. You have ruined everything, all because you wanted more.
I guarantee you now, just like I told you when that hussy came with her offer, you should have waited for our mate. Now it is too late.
I swear to you Justin, I will pay you back for this” Lorne told me and then faded away to the back of my mind. I can fix this.
I used to catch her checking me out all the time when I was in my senior year. She was really pretty and very shy.
She never tried to talk to me, only stealing glances occasionally when she thought that I wasn’t aware of her looking at me.
Her blushing when she got caught was charming and sweet, and if she had been anyone else but who she was, I would have accepted her wholeheartedly.
But she is an outcast, she is not worthy of me, and I cannot allow myself to be pulled down because I got dealt a bad mate. Reagan was right, we will have strong, attractive pups.
We will run this pack well together, and that will be that. Maybe Raven will stop being mad at me in a year. I am sure that I can make her see the value of being my girlfriend.
I had not thought about this before, but my running my fingertips on her face to brush away her hair is causing strong tingles to happen.
They are powerful and I cannot stop thinking about burying myself inside her to see if the tingles will be everywhere that I touch.
I am getting hard just thinking about it, and I am glad to see that happen. When Raven fell from the tree, I instantly softened up upon catching her scent.
I couldn’t continue to have sx with Reagan anymore, as I knew it was the wrong thing to do. Reagan was really pissed off that I stopped.
It is almost like she wanted Raven to wake up from the pain that she would experience from our having sx again.
I started to make plans, maybe I can speak to Raven, take her for some coffee, and explain why it was better for me to the Alpha.
Then I can explain how we can continue our relationship together, without anyone else knowing about it, especially not Reagan. Reagan will then be Luna, and that should keep her happy.
Plus, I knew about how she was, she liked the company of men, and would not be satisfied with just me for long.
She was only loyal to me right now because we have a deal, and until it is complete, she is going to be the perfect mate.
I am sure that the moment that the deal is done, she will probably go back to what she was doing before. A lot of other Alphas have girls on the side.
Even her own dad uses some of the willing women here in the pack to ease his needs. But with them being sisters, I think their family might have a problem with it.
As long as I can trick Raven into doing it though, I am sure that I can keep it away from Reagan.
I wouldn’t have to reject Raven, and we could sleep with each other and be treated to the powerful feelings that come with being with your own true mate.
I feel my pants getting really tight and I need to calm down. I also don’t need Reagan to find out that her sister who is just lying here on the ground breathing, is turning me on like this.
It will not go over with Reagan very well. I may have to get Raven out of this pack, and maybe set her up in the human town in a nice apartment.
I can take care of her, and we could have our own children. Maybe one day Raven and I could lead this pack. Especially after she has been gone for a while, and if her parents, and sister are gone.
“You really are an i***t, especially if you think that Raven will ever fall for that. Or sleep with you after she caught you sleeping with her sister. You will not be getting a chance with her.
Her wolf is strong and nothing I am saying is making a change in her opinion. You put your needs over ours. I don’t get it, we were totally together about staying focused on finding our mates.
It is absolutely disgusting to me what you did. If it didn’t involve me being hurt in this too, it would almost be funny how bad you screwed yourself in this” Lorne mindlinked me.
I can feel his disappointment but what can I do? I made the deal already, there is paperwork completed on it. My hands are tied right now, there is nothing that can be done about it.
“When she wakes up you need to reject her,” Reagan said to me and that is all I can hear, repeating over and over again in my head. Lorne goes nuts and warns me that I better not. I am trapped.
I don’t know what to do, and I see Raven wake up. Seeing her beautiful eyes open I cannot look away. How did I not notice how beautiful she was sooner?
The first thing she did is move back away from me, which hurts. I was worried about her when she got hurt. I made a mistake, that happens.
I made a bad decision and now it is affecting us both, and our wolves. I can hear Reagan yelling at her, but I am in a daze and not listening.
Seeing her beautiful face, I wanted to mark her, not reject her. I cannot do this. I know I made a deal, but I am going to back out of it because I have changed my mind.
I cannot hurt my mate like that. I will tell her what happened and hopefully, they will give me and Lorne another chance. We can leave this pack and go somewhere else, as long as we can stay together.
We will be totally happy as long as we can get away from here. I will tell her, and she and her wolf will be happy with us again.
I am going to choose her, I want Raven to be my mate, I am so thankful to the Goddess for giving her to me. She is sweet and kind, and she would truly make the better Luna between her and Reagan.
I turn to see the Alpha couple arrive with some warriors and I realize that Reagan was clearly trying to get Raven in trouble, and potentially hurt. I just can’t allow that.
I will have to be the voice of reason if I need to be, and then the unexpected happens. Raven just shreds out of her clothes into a very large black wolf, her emerald green eyes look at us.
Her eyes don’t carry a shred of fear. I know that I am not the only one who cannot believe the sight in front of us.
The wolf then turns and bolts away and for a few seconds I am still sitting here in shock. I notice that everyone is now phasing into their wolves and chasing her. I won’t let them hurt her.
My large dark grey wolf was the last one to leave the glade, but the closest one to her when she easily sails over the border into Blood Walker territory.
I wanted to follow her, and keep her safe, but as soon as we phase back into our human side, Reagan grabs my arm and starts smirking at Raven. She wants to piss her off and make her jealous.
I cannot stop staring at Raven as the arguing continues. I can only focus on her, she is in pain, and she needs me.
I finally decided that I am going to phase back into Lorne and just go over the border myself. I see a tall, strong man approaching my mate as she turned and started walking away from us.
I started listening then, as he is way too close to my mate, and I will not allow him to hurt her. I heard the threat in what he said, it was not hidden at all in his words.
If I go over, he will kill me, and I know that he was not bluffing, especially when he threatened and taunted Alpha Sullivan to come on over himself.
If he is willing to kill our Alpha, he won’t hesitate to kill me as well.
My heart is breaking as another man comes out of the dark, almost as big as the first man, and I can no longer see Raven anymore. They are protectively blocking her from our view.
I have no idea if she is going to be safe or not. She could be r***d by them or even killed, and I have no idea what the hell is going on now.
I should have been listening to what had been said, but after scenting Raven, I was completely hypnotized by her. Her family starts screaming horrible things at her. They are even threatening her.
How did I not know she was living in this kind of situation? I cannot stop myself from calling out to her to come back. Reagan is furious and looking at me like she is about to lose her s**t.
The Alpha is really angry, steam is almost coming off of him, and our Luna looks completely terrified. I don’t know what their deal is, but the warriors are clearly upset.
The cat is out of the bag now and tomorrow, when the Alpha has the town hall meeting, the whole pack will know that Reagan and I lied to them about us being mates. “Not one word of this gets out.
Tomorrow at the town hall, I will be announcing that Reagan and Justin are true mates.
If I hear of anyone finding out anything about them not being mates, I will torture you all until I find out who told. I will then have the guilty party’s whole family killed.
The pack needs to support its Alpha couple. Do not think that I will let anyone off in this. I will note who was out here with us tonight.
Do not let the secret get out, as it will be a death sentence. I will not allow dissension in my pack. You will all do as I say in this.
I will also announce that Raven went mad, and trespassed onto the Blood Walker’s land and that she was tragically killed. Do not contradict me when I do this, and we will get past it.
No one really cares about Raven anyway. She is more trouble than she is worth, and I am finally glad to be rid of her. I am quite sure that they will take care of this mess properly over there.
I have never seen a trespasser on Blood Walker land not be dealt with. We won’t be seeing Raven again” Alpha Sullivan said to the group. He is a monster, how did I not see this before?
The pain in my heart at the thought of Raven being killed hurts me. He has us all thinking that he is a good leader, but he isn’t, and neither is Reagan.
I am tied up with them both now because I was not thinking properly before.
I can’t even blame it on them, as I wanted to sleep with Reagan, and I was ashamed to wait and see if Raven would be my mate.
I have been blind this whole time, I am smarter than this, and I should have seen it. Just from how he treated and allowed the pack to treat Raven.
She was a young innocent girl who was made to be abused in this pack and that was never the right thing to do.
The ranked wolves are supposed to protect the weaker pack members, and that includes Raven. As we head back to the packhouse Reagan keeps trying to hold my hand.
We are taking our time walking back as we are all caught up in our thoughts. I shrug Reagan’s hand off my chest and increased my pace.
I am just as bad as them, I might have been tricked into it, but I know right from wrong, I wish I could go back and reject Reagan’s offer.
Gently, of course, and then I would be sure to be around Raven when she turned 18, so I could accept and mark her right then. I am screwed, and there is nothing that I can do about it.
“Justin” Reagan coos at me in a tone that earlier today would have got my blood flowing because she talks to me like that when she wanted to have s*x. I have been conditioned.
I realize that now, and I feel sick about it. “I need some time alone Reagan, I will see you later on today,” I told her and watched as she rushed forward to try to touch me again.
She was going to try to have s*x with me, to try to keep me under her power, but that ploy wasn’t going to work anymore. The guilt that I was feeling was making me sick, and Raven is right.
The Moon Goddess doesn’t like us to change her carefully laid plans. She makes them for a reason and there will be punishment for our actions coming to Reagan and me.
Honestly, we earned whatever the punishment will be. I have a feeling I know what mine will be, a lifetime with a hateful, shrew.
I knew that she was like that before, why did I allow her to con me into this deal? I watched as her father grabbed her wrist as she passed him and shook his head at her.
He knew I needed some time alone. He also knew that I was absolutely trapped by the contract that I had signed. There was no escape for me, and he knew it.
