Leon stepped out of the testing zone, eyes half-lidded as he smiled at the gathered A-rank Hunters.
Anyone who was glanced at by Leon instinctively tensed up.
Despite Leon's frail appearance, the crushing power he'd unleashed—obliterating the simulation with ease—lingered in everyone's minds.
A-rank hunters broke into cold sweats, while onlookers who'd stayed silent stared in awe.
"Hottie! Marry me!" A lanky girl shoved through the crowd.
"Back off, twig. You've got no curves!" A gorilla-shaped man elbowed her aside, blushing crimson. "I'll bear your kids for you, hotstuff!"
The girl he shoved aside gaped. "Dude, you're male!"
"So? I'll get a gender swap!" he answered.
"Damn… You're dedicated." The crowd muttered, half-impressed, half-horrified.
Leon's eye twitched. He focused on Charlie, the loudmouth, now sweating through his tactical vest. "Heard you wanted to spar?"
The crowd inhaled sharply, eyeing Charlie like a doomed man. 'Madlad challenged an S-rank!' they screamed inwardly.
Charlie paled, glancing at his retreating peers. "My apologies for disrespect, but an S-ranker's guidance is too rare to pass up. Please honor us?"
"Just don't back out on the e-scooter." Leon crossed his arms, still fixated on his prize.
Bob scurried over, eyes starry. "Mr. Radford! You could demand a fortune for this! S-rank sparring sessions are priceless—"
"Nah. Just need wheels." Leon shrugged.
'Short of money? Kind of, I'm in debt to Caitlyn… but I'd rather pay her back honestly, paycheck by paycheck,' Leon thought.
Leon'd long since mastered the art of wealth, but after decades of bloodshed, he craved simplicity—a quiet life by Caitlyn's side.
Besides,' Leon's knuckles cracked, 'picking up odd jobs at the Guild of Hunters could be a nice stress reliever.'
"A-rank hunters ain't gonna back out on the bet, are you?" Leon cocked an eyebrow, eyeing the group skeptically.
The accused hunters developed sudden scalp rashes.
Charlie choked out, "I'll gift the e-scooter! Just...maybe some combat tips—"
In this world where hunters and heroes risked their necks daily, the paychecks rarely matched glory.
Rank A elites scraped by on a million gold coins annually – ten million if they had the looks for elven lingerie endorsements.
The D-cup figure—definitely an A-Rank hunter raised her hand. "I, uh...wouldn't mind testing an S-Rank's mettle either."
"Me too!" One by one, others stepped forward, eyes blazing with battlelust.
Though stunned by Leon's sudden S-rank reveal, these were veterans who'd fought their way through piles of corpses—none would shy away from challenging a powerhouse out of fear.
Leon gave an approving nod. 'Got e-scooter and a chance to stretch my muscles, why not?' he mused.
Leon's smile turned faint as he pointed at two more individuals. "You two, join as well."
The pair stiffened, their faces paling under the collective stare of their peers. Sure enough, they were the ones who'd taunted Leon earlier.
The crowd gathered around the arena had swelled to several times its previous size. Words of the newly promoted S-Rank facing off against multiple A-Rank Hunters had spread like wildfire.
"A S-Rank sparring with A-Ranks? This doesn't happen every day!" someone in the crowd whispered excitedly.
Leon stood with his arms crossed, eyeing the line of A-Rank hunters before him. He checked his phone and said casually, "Come at me together. I'm on a tight schedule."
A murmur ran through the spectators. Several hunters frowned. "Even for a S-Rank, that's arrogant," one veteran hunter growled.
These weren't ordinary fighters—each had earned their A-Rank through years of battles. They respected Leon's power, but no fresh S-Rank could possibly dismiss them so easily.
"I'm on a schedule," Leon repeated.
A scoff came from the lineup. In a flash, one hunter vanished—only to reappear behind Leon, sword already mid-swing.
Without turning, Leon stomped. Crack! The attacker cratered onto the floor at his feet.
Leon didn't even shift his stance. "To me, you're no different from D-Ranks or regular people. So save us all time and attack together."
Dead silence.
Though stunned by how effortlessly Leon had dispatched one of their own, his words ignited fury among the remaining A-Rank hunters.
As revered A-Rank hunters, they wouldn't tolerate such provocation. Yet even through their rage, their combat discipline held.
Mages immediately fell back, chanting incantations to weave control spells.
Melee hunters moved with practiced precision, encircling Leon in a deadly formation.
In the blink of an eye, Leon found himself at the center of a coordinated assault from multiple elite A-Rank hunters.
The onlookers held their breath—even for an S-Rank, taking on so many A-rank fighters at once seemed impossible.
Three minutes later, Leon strolled out of the arena, stretching lazily while checking his phone.
"Bob," Leon said, "let's go process my Hunter registration."
Bob stood frozen, his eyes darting across the battlefield, where A-Rank hunters lay scattered like broken dolls, some embedded in walls, others crumpled in unconscious heaps.
Bob swallowed hard, staring at Leon in disbelief. 'Holy shit...this is beyond overpowered,' he thought.
