Zara's pov
It's the next day and I'm at the bakery
"Good morning aves," I say excited to get the tea on what happened with her and Matt
"Good morning zee" she smiles while looking down at the batter she's mixing
Someone's happy this morning...
"Soo...screw it, WHAT HAPPENED AT THE FAIR AND AFTER With you and matt," I say excitedly
She laughs "ok I guess I'll tell you but pls don't be all annoying and start screaming and jumping around when I talk okay?" She smiles
"SO THERE'S SOMETHING WORTH JUMPING FOR THAT HAPPENED," I say just a little too loudly
"ZARA" she slaps my shoulder
"Okay okay sorry go on," I say eager to hear
"Well when we went to play to get Mia something we kind of talked and I took your advice in showing him little by little my interest in me and we didn't fight the whole time at the fair" she smiles down at the bowl in front of her
I just listen and let her talk
"He won a pig key chain" she laughs shaking her head
"Did he give it to you?" I say grinning
She starts moving her head towards her purse, I walk over to it and see her keys
(Something along the lines of this as the keychain^)
I smile looking down at it, there's even an M initial for Matt how cute!!
I knew he secretly liked the daddy pig and Peppa pig nickname she gave him HAH
"Wait Ava that's so cute" I grin at her
She blushes "yeah it was sweet" she smiles
"Well, what happened next?" I get excited waiting for her to talk about the Ferris wheel
"Then we just talked and he won the stuffed animal for Mia and we walked back to you guys" she smiles
"OKAY...Then what" I get more and more excited by the minute
"Then we went on the Ferris wheel" she shakes her head laughing
"But you know that part" she grins
"Yeah but what I don't know is what happened on the Ferris wheel, So spill the tea," I say eagerly
"Okay okay, we kind of talked then started flirting a little, and then we somehow ended up kissing..." she starts blushing remembering the memory
I smile and start jumping a LITTLE
"OH IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU," I say excited
"I thought you said you weren't gonna be an annoying little shit while I talk" she laughs
"Ya well you were done talking then," I say in a 'duh' tone
"Whatever" she laughs rolling her eyes
"Okay, what happened after you guys left the fair?" I ask curiously
"He took me bowling" she grins like an idiot
"Awwweee, like the first time you guys met, THAT'S SO CUTE"
"Yeah it was, and this time it was officially a date, we had a lot of fun actually" she smiles as she fills the pans with batter
"And after he dropped me off at my apartment I told him why I'm scared of relationships so much and My past ones..." she said
Wait she got the courage to tell him about her past relationship? Oh I'm so proud of her
"I'm so proud of you Ava, You have no idea" I hug her
She hugs me back " thank you, I explained my past relationships and how I'm scared to get hurt again and he told me... and I quote ' the day I hurt you, you have permission to do whatever the hell you want with my heart since you hold the power with my hearts in your hands now' " she says eyes filled with tears
"Ava that man really cares for you..." I whisper eyes filled with tears as well
"I'm so happy for you, you deserve a guy who will make you happy" I hug her tightly
"Thank you, and I also told him we should take it slow and see where things go, we promised each other to not have sex or any form of sexual intimacy EXCEPT kissing for a while," she says
" I'm extremely proud of you Ava, I know how you always say that guys will only be sex buddies to you till the day you die, so for you to put a no sex rule in this makes it really clear you care so much about him" I smile tears flowing
She always told me she will never let a man in her heart, and that all men will ever be to her...is a thing with a dick to please her from time to time
I guess she lost her own battle, but sometimes to see the real peace at the end of the fight you need to lose the battle to see the thing you were fighting was merely the person to save you from it all along
Life isn't a piece of cake it's quite the opposite, we all go through things in our life that not many people will understand except yourself
But something people fail to realize is that there isn't just one slice to a cake...and you can't exactly eat the whole thing all at once, you take it piece by piece and take your time
And if one this is for certain it's that every piece of cake is a showing of your life, the slice of cake is something you go through in your life and YEAH some people can eat the whole cake themselves
But sometimes, someone needs someone else to help them with it, we often don't realize that everyone's "slice of cake" is slightly different, from flavors to ingredients to size
Some people can handle a lot of cake and be okay after, those are the strongest of people in my opinion because the cake resembles struggles in this example, and some people can take a lot of struggles before they break,
Then There's some that can ONLY eat a slice before the break, there not weak it just means they already had too much cake and now all they can bear is a slice
And sometimes you can't finish your cake, and you offer it to someone, someone who's willing to eat the rest, and not everyone can be able to handle finishing it for you
I'm that person for Ava, I'm willing to take her struggles and listen to her, and put those struggles on myself to see her happy
In the 4 years, we have been friends I've watched her at her most weak and vulnerable to her strongest
And I'm so happy she found someone willing to share her cake with
But if that man throws the cake away EVEN a slice I will hurt him
"Thank you zee, I love you" she hugs me tightly
"I really like him and honestly I'm ready to take the plunge with him, but please promise me something," she says
"Anything," I say, and I truly mean it I'll pretty much do anything for her she's like the sister I never had
"If I end up drowning, please jump in and save me, because I think if this man breaks me that will be it for me...there's to much I have went through and I think that man has the power to ruin it all for me," she says crying
"Aww Ava," I say hugging her tightly "of course I'll save you I will ALWAYS save you...and I think Matt is a good guy, maybe even a great one but I promise you if he breaks you I will break him back" I tell her
"Thank you" she whispers
"Here can you try some of this cake ?" She asks
I laugh it's like the girl can see into my brain and see I was just using cake as a damn example for struggles we go through in life
"Gladly" I laugh
