Beyond the Trap of Yesterday - Chapter 32: Chapter 32

Zara's pov
It's now Christmas Eve, we're outside playing in the snow, Enzo and I are helping Mia build a snowman
"That's not how you do it, daddy!" Mia exclaims
"Sorry sweetie, how do I do it" Enzo chuckles
The tension has been getting bigger and higher with each day, every time we pass each other in the kitchen and our arms brush, or when our legs touch under the table, it's getting unbearable being with him without absolutely pouncing on the man
"Like this" Mia smiles up at Enzo
"Okay" he chuckles
After about 15 minutes of building a snowman...no sorry a snow PRINCESS... as Mia said she was
Mia gets up and says "I'm gonna go drink some water daddy I'll be right back," she says running inside
"Okay," he says
The minute she leaves it's like the wall of tension is even higher
My thoughts get interrupted by Enzo throwing a snowball at me
"HEY" I yelp
He just laughs "what? I didn't even do anything" with a grin
I quickly make a snowball and throw it at him
"YOUR ON muffin" he yells
I immediately start running around the backyard while throwing snowballs at him laughing and trying to dodge the ones he throws at me
Suddenly I'm on the ground
I yelp
"Gotcha" Enzo whispers in my ear
"I win" he grins
"That's not fair you cheater," I say laughing
We're both breathing very heavy from running around the yard in the snow
He's hovering over top of me as I'm laying in the snow
We're both looking into each other's eyes
He brushes his fingers across my face " assolutamente Bello" he says (absolutely beautiful)
"What's that mean" I whisper suddenly feeling like the air is being suffocated around us
"Absolutely beautiful," he says inching closer to my face
We both move closer, our lips so so close we're so incredibly close I can feel his breath on my lips
Our lips are about to touch
Until we get hit with snowballs
"I hit you, daddy" Mia laughs jumping up and down
GOSH DANG IT, First Ava interrupts that first time and now Mia
"Yeah you did sweetie," Enzo says
He takes a deep breath and rests his forehead on mine
What I don't expect him to do is before standing up to whisper in my ear "I will get that kiss" and pecks the sensitive area by my ear
Well suddenly I feel as if all this snow is gonna melt from how hot it is
He chuckles and gets up and helps me up as well
"I'm gonna get you for that" Enzo laughs chasing Mia
He's so cute running after Mia
I just sit in the chair watching them playing with snowballs chasing each-other
I never realized how attractive a man is with a child before I met Enzo
He's a hot man,
but a father ...that's just another subject
He's such an incredible father, even with working all the time
"We should make cookies for Santa" Mia screeches
"Okay" Enzo chuckles
"Zee can you help us your cookies are the best" Mia smiles at me
I laugh "of course sweetie come on let's get you out of these clothes, give you a bath then we can go make them"
I make eye contact with Enzo as I grab Mia's hand to lead her inside and he smiles at me and I return the smile before walking inside with her
We're now in the kitchen making cookies
"Okay then you put the chocolate chips in the batter" I instruct Mia
"Okay" She says as she dumps the chocolate chips in the batter
"Good now we mix it together, put it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to even overnight if want, then we bake them" I say
"Why do we need to put them in the fridge?" Mia asks
"Well that allows the ingredients in the batter to really mold together to allow the best Flavors in the cookies and it also makes them more toffee-like," I say
"Yum" Mia chirps
We finished mixing and then putting the dough in the fridge, and now we're all on the couch watching another Disney movie
Don't get me wrong I LOVE Disney princess movies and cute movies in general but I can tell Enzo wants to pull his hair out with the amount of Disney movies he's had to endure
And I can't help but laugh a little
"Why are you laughing, Olaf just melted that's pretty sad, no?" Enzo whispers in my ear
And then I laugh even more seeing that's he's actually paying attention how cute is he...?!
"I'm laughing because you look like you'd rather pull your hair out than watch another disney movie" I whisper in his ear
He chuckles then pick me up so I'm on his lap, he then wraps his arms around my waist bringing me closer
Then whispers "there I'm all better now" in my ear
To which I shake my head while laughing, and leaning back onto him to cuddle closer
Once the movie is done we go and finish the cookies, after there complete we put them on a plate to put out for Santa along with some milk
"Okay sweetie now you have to go to sleep so Santa can come," Enzo says
"I'll go get her ready for bed," I tell Enzo
"I'll be back" I whisper in his ear and kiss his cheek
I put her in bed and And my chest almost explodes with what she says next
"Goodnight sweetie," I say kissing her forehead
"Goodnight mama," she says sleepily
HOLY...did she just?
I immediately start tearing up
"Did you just call me mama" I whisper to her
"Yeah" she nods her head "why do you not want to be my mama" she starts getting sad
"No no that's not it hun, I just didn't know you wanted me to be your mom," I say tears flowing down my face
"I also don't know how your dad would act with it" I smile down at her while the tears keep flowing
"Your amazing zee, I want you to be my mom and daddy said it was ok" she nods
"You talked to him about it?" I say starting to cry at this point as I whisper to her
She nods her head "so can I call you mama?" She asks in a whisper
"Yeah you can" I smile
"Okay Goodnight mama I love you" she smiles
"Goodnight sweet girl" I kiss her forehead
I'm heading down the stairs in a daze, I can't believe Mia called me mom, and more importantly, she talked to Enzo about it?
Man I'm gonna kill that man for not telling me
I can't stop crying right now
This is the best Christmas Eve of my life...when I was a child Christmas was an act, we would go to some fancy party's and I would have to act a certain way and pretend to be a perfect daughter talking to my parent's bosses and whoever they were
"Are you okay?" Enzo asks as a go into the living room
"Yeah" I whisper
"You don't look okay Zara, what's wrong?" He says motioning me towards him
I walk up to him and he sits me on his lap so I'm straddling me
I hug him and he tightens his grip around my waist pulling me closer
"What happened" he whispers
"Mia called me mama" I whisper tears flowing down my face
"Is that why your crying" he chuckles while smiling
"She said she talked to you about it" I manage to whisper
"Yeah she did like a week ago" he smiles wiping my tears
"Why didn't you warn me, I was crying like a baby in front of her" I slap him playfully on the chest
He chuckles and pulls me into a hug and rest his chin on the top of my head as I muzzle my head in the crook of his neck
"I wanted you to hear it first from her" he whispers
"Why do you not like the idea of being her mom?" He asks
"No of course it's not that...I just never thought she thought of me that way, I thought I was just a nanny or a friend to her" I say tears flowing
He wipes my tears once again "of course you're not just a nanny to us, you're so much more"
"Tanto più il Mio Cuore" he whispers into my hair ( so much more, my heart)
I hug him even tighter, I don't even bother asking what that means because I know he won't tell me
"Are you not gonna ask me what I just said, means" he chuckles
"What's the point you won't tell me" I lightly chuckle
"True" he laughs
"So you're happy with her calling you mom?" He asks
"Yes very" I smile
"Are you fine with it?" I ask just making sure
"Of course I am," he says kissing my forehead
"We should probably put her presents under the tree" I whisper to him
He hums not letting the grip he has on me go
I laugh lightly "you know Enz you need to let me go to put the presents under the tree," I say
He hums again not making any movement to let go
I just laugh, and he chuckles in response
"I'll let you go if you sleep in my bed today, I don't wanna let you go so it's the least you can do if your forcing me to put some stupid presents under the tree," he says annoyed
I just start laughing quietly "fine deal"
"Good," he says lifting me up
"Enzo what are you doing" I laugh
"Well I won't let the queen walk to the garage when there's a king to carry her there," he says in a funny British accent
"Well thank you, your majesty, for your Service" I laugh saying it in a funny British type accent
We both laugh as he takes us to the garage
We grab the gifts setting them under the tree, Enzo picks me up so my legs wrap around his waist and my arms around his neck and I nuzzle closer into the crook of his neck
He places me on the bed after we brush our teeth, he has a spare toothbrush in there for me how cute!
He gives me one of his hoodies and saying "don't bother giving it back"
Please like I was gonna do that
I cuddle closer to him feeling so safe being in his arms
Man I love this man
